I've had some weird premonitions before or psychic experiences. Has anyone had a reading which came to something? have you ever had a reading which was helpful and helped your relationship? or they could give you time frames or who the 'one' is? Really interested in what ppl think!

Nope. I've had a few readings because my friends wanted to go and I went along with them. All were general and wishy washy shite. In my opinion these people read your body language and make good guesses. Utter nonsense.

Hi, I have been to a psychic, I visited her twice, a year and a half apart. Before this I never believed in anything like that, it was my friend that had been a few times that convinced me to try. The first time I was having a really hard time with ex husband, he had left me and we had then recently got back together. The psychic told me that he loved me and that he had a lot of emotional problems, but that it could work.
A year and a half later we had split up again, and again I'd just reluctantly taken him back. I went back to see this psychic. She said exactly the same things, that if we were to make our marriage work he would need emotional help and we would have a long road of counseling ahead of us. She said, the only way we would divorce is if I divorce him, he would never divorce me. She also said she can see romance around me. Well I didn't want to go through all that and I no longer loved him after he had left me and our kids and then compulsivly lied about everything and anything. I ended our marriage. The best thing I have ever done. I then met someone else, it's very early days, but things are good. She was spot on with it all and IL definitely go and see her again x

I'm concerned they give false hope or say what you want to hear. However I can't help believing in fate and spirits and I've personally had premonitions and psychic experiences but don't know how ppl can 'read' someone?!

It's complete tosh OP. Don't get sucked into it.

They're all charlatans. The one million dollar award for any medium able to prove that they're genuine remains unclaimed after several decades.

I've been several times with friends. Amazing how people will seize on the 'accurate' stuff and ignore the rest, or try to make a glaringly wrong prediction right.

I remember one friend asking if she'd ever have children. At the time she was told she'd have three with someone who's name began with s. She's in her forties now and married to someone who's name begins with j, one child. She still talks about how accurate that reading was, has changed or misremembered loads of things. I don't get it, people seem to want to believe so badly they do these crooks' jobs for them.

My friend had a nanny when we were kids. She used to do tarot etc. I remember her suddenly talking about her death, planning her funeral and saying goodbye to people. She died in a car accident two weeks later.

That's the only thing that has ever made me wonder about this and I think that a lot of people who charge money are fraudsters. She always did readings for free though.

It's absolute shite and vulnerable people get sucked in. I had a reading done myself once as a friend was convinced she was an medium and was going into business doing readings. It was interesting in how inaccurate it was, considering she new lots of things about me anyway, e.g. That I was renovating a house and that my relationship was a bit difficult. She told me three things I remember: that I would get a better job (this happened but hardly surprising as I'd just done a degree), that I would have a baby with my then partner (nope), and that we would move house when I was pregnant (nope again). But these are hardly earth shattering things to say to a woman in her mid twenties.
It would be a colossal waste of money to get involved in this stuff.

I find it irritating when people claim it's a load of shite. How do you know it's a load of shite?

I had always been interested but wasn't massively convinced before.

I visited one. I came out feeling spooked! There were things she said that she couldn't just guess, things that couldn't be read by my body language. She even mentioned names! I was on no social media then (so it's not like she could Facebook me, as it was a pre booked appointment).
She recorded the whole thing and I still have it on CD.

Don't get me wrong I believe most of the people who claim to be psychic are just scammers.

I think when you go and something is said that you know can't be guessed etc that's when you you know whether they're genuine. Not the old "you're going to get married and have 2 kids" crap..

I used to do fortune telling for fun at student events and was astonished at how good I was at it. You study body language and you say something general to open and then, as you speak It's so easy to pick up on what they're interested in. It's hard to describe briefly but, believe me, It's easy. And when I tried it out as a punter I could spot exactly how the other person was playing me.

I'm sorry. It would be so comforting if psychics were real but It's all fake. And if fortune tellers could foresee the future they'd all be loaded, wouldn't they?

People usually visit them when they are vulnerable and they prey on it.

If you have this psychic 'gift', why charge people?

They are all either scammers or deluded fucking idiots (as stupid and delusional as any regular client.) The more 'accurate' the reading, the more expert a scammer the 'psychic'. The time or two they get something 'right'? Coincidence - or scamming.

Nope 👎 complete BS imo. I am ashamed to admit that I have paid a psychic or two in my early to mid 20s. Especially in a vulnerable moment after having my heart broken, for some reason I thought a psychic might hold some answers. What a load of bullshit. And to take advantage of a broken-hearted girl by saying that they could tell me more if I extended the session 😂

Ohhh I just remembered something! In college I had a class with this girl who was a hairdresser. She was going back to school.

I went to her once for a haircut. I hated the cut and how she styled it at the end. the way she styled it really bothered me... I hated it.

A year or two after that I found out through fb or something that she started touring as a psychic and specializes in "talking" to people's dead relatives. And people were actually paying her and buying tickets to shows where she did this.

All I could think was, if she was really a psychic then she should have known I hated my hair like that!!

In contrast, lots of articles and books written by whistleblowers such as Mark Edwards that show exactly how they do it.

For anyone who was given a scarily accurate piece of information that couldn't have been obtained by disingenuous means : it's coincidence. For example, the clairvoyant who took out life insurance and made a will weeks before dying.

If you looked at any other industry and saw that not a single participant had ever been able to prove their abilities, while many former participants had held their hands up and admitted to it being a scam, you'd accept it was a scam.

I wouldn't deny that premonitions or psychic experiences exist (my dad, for one, was quite spooky at times). But I do deny that "professional" psychics are really tapping into extra powers. If anyone does get these little flashes or warnings of future possibilities (it's only ever possibility, the future is not determined so it is simply impossible to "read" it) it doesn't come to order; and there's no way they can speak to dead people. Re the advice/predictions above, any good counsellor could do the same and honest magicians, like Derren Brown, or the late fabulous Orson Wells who performed magic for a hobby, not only do it but tell you how they do it.

ps My dad went to a fairground fortune teller himself, again at a vulnerable time or he wouldn't have given it headspace, and was very impressed by her prediction that he would not die in the country of his birth. But he did.

Watch out for any psychic who claims you're under a curse and offers to lift the curse (inevitably for a large sum of money). The ones who do that sort of thing are dangerous scammers.
