Hi, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. We're delighted to have you here :) Not because if you're new to the Babes you are here for help, but because we welcome every kind of drinker. And for all of the reasons life throws at you.

Those that do drink, those that don't drink and of course those who do but don't want to say just how much..............

We've all had our own personal Groundhog Day , some still are and don't want to remain trapped in the same cycle day in, day out, and some still are and want to be which is fine and why we're here.

To talk, to listen, to just be us, like you are YOU. You never know, one day you might just want to wake up on a different day? :) There's no judging here, no 'sides.

After all, something made you click on and read this :)

Come say hi! We even do Brew & Cake if you're super quick!!

And if you want to see what we got up to in the last thread, have a look RIGHT HERE

And this is where our adventure began, almost six years ago now!!

ALMOST SIX YEARS AGO...........

Ooh pizza for the bus sounds like a plan! Get a no calorie one pls.
Thanks genie. It's just so frustrating. Everyone loves the idea, everyone says it's needed and good and will solve a couple of real issue around skills shortages and ...other stuff(don't want to out myself) but no-one will fund it. Or, they will, but not soon enough to stop us going tits up in the meantime while we wait for the funds to come in. If anyone has a few spare K then I'll have it! I did think about crowd funding but don't think it would sit with the organisation I work for...

ClaretAndBlue30 · 15/04/2016 20:36

I'll have a slice thanks genie nom nom nom...

WillAndDisgrace · 15/04/2016 20:43

Can I get an American Hot?

Paffle · 15/04/2016 20:43

Did someone say pizza?

Rarity75 · 15/04/2016 21:17

Just had a huge pepperoni! Can't move only roll Grin

dementedma · 15/04/2016 21:19

Opal fruits for pudding anyone?

Elba84 · 15/04/2016 21:23

Sorry probably sounded like a bit of a twat earlier Blush

claret I know what I would advise. It would involve abstinence (at least for a period to retest without alcohol as a variable), or admitting in real life that I just can't abstain.Thats what scares me...neither feels like an option.

So tonight I'm drinking in moderation but tomorrow has to be another AF day...promised myself two this week.

will he's absolutely gorgeous!

aliasjoey · 15/04/2016 21:38

Who mentioned pizza?

ClaretAndBlue30 · 15/04/2016 21:45

Well I'm back on the Diet Coke after 2 glasses of wine, I can safely say I've gained nothing from drinking tonight. For me it's 100% the first half a glass that relaxes me...but then...nothing.

Anyway, hopefully you'll have me back on the bus! I enjoyed my bus pizza anyhow.

How's everyone feeling? rarity managed to move after your pizza yet?

WillAndDisgrace · 15/04/2016 21:48

No pizza for horrid baby doll ma?, you'll upset her SadGrin

Rarity75 · 15/04/2016 22:04

Umm yes just about. I also have had a glass of wine after a disagreement with the idiot I live with Angry

Feel a right dafty. I'm still annoyed it didn't 'help' me destress at all.

So can I come back on board?? Now drinking ginger beer.

puttingthegenieback · 15/04/2016 22:29

I knew I should have ordered more coke/diet coke/ginger beer to go with the pizza! Thanks everyone for the usual camaraderie tonight. Getting on the bus is always so comforting. I'm going to bed now - didn't end up drinking today, but it was a big struggle. Who knows why some days are so much harder than others. Anyway, I wish everyone a good sleep and a good tomorrow.
Elba you could never sound like a twat. I for one understand and share your concerns - I've spent far too much time worrying about and researching possible health ramifications online. I've had one very sympathetic GP, and one who made me feel ashamed and sorry I'd ever mentioned my problem. I guess you have to trust your instincts when it comes to whether or not you feel comfortable talking to your doctor or another medical professional. That probably isn't much help....

Margie32 · 15/04/2016 22:53

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the pizza but I'm pretty sure I don't really need it after the 5000 Easter eggs I ingested tonight. I wanted to NC but either this thread moves so fast or I move so slowly!

Anyhoo, love to you all, hurrah if you've managed a sober Friday night and wishing you all a sober or moderating weekend. Bloody your last Friday night sounds exactly like mine but mine included a ridiculous drunken row with DH & me waking up on the sofa at 2:30am. So I'm happy -and amazed- to be sober tonight.

Claret and Elba, big love to you, I haven't said much lately but I've been cheering you on and nodding vigorously at your words.

Ma, thanks for the NC a few pages back, you're so lovely to remember me, hope your shitty work situation gets sorted soon.

Margie32 · 15/04/2016 22:55

And happy birthday Sober!

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/04/2016 23:25

I didn't think I'd make it back this week. Awful week, just awful.

But....I can't let my poor pom-poms go shoogle free!

marfisa I couldn't be prouder, congratulations on your new job! Of course they couldn't see by you! You are a DM wearing goddess! Intelligence? Tick. Heaps of experience? Tick. DMs? Oh yeah. Tick with Edge. Tickettytickticktick. Grin And a big bosie for you, you know why. You're lovely, you are. xx

Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnaaaaaaaaa A whole different kind of proud! A WHOLE shiting year! You are amazing! I am doing a celebratory jig in your honour! Is it still party Friday? I might have to break out the cheese, pineapple and little wee onion hedgehog and everything! He's been hibernating
for a bit, but hey! This is a special occasion!! xx

Ma Oh your post aboot the Wind Witch made me roar! See if they don't fund you through to completion? We should all have bean bake, fire up Gerald to drive us en masse to your meeting and fug them until they submit. I'm a dab hand. It's one of the reasons I got another Lab. She is handy to blame.

I love the East Neuk. LittleLab went to the referral vets at St Monan's for surgery on her poor, beaten body not long after we got her. The beaches round there are lovely, they brought me great peace while I was waiting for her. Haud yer heid up like a thistle, ma quine xx

venus I listened about your healthy breakfast tip. It's been porridge all week with a side of blueberries, good. Today's porridge was made with Jersey Milk and demerara. With a good splat of double cream. No fruit. Bad. It has kept me going until lunchtime every day. It's ruddy cold up here this week, snow today. It is porridge weather for sure. xx

Will All your typos on the 12th made me howl! Preheating your house especially! Guess you weren't feeling very chilly at 220 degrees Grin xx

Elba Oh wow, your beach photo is beautiful. To have that beautiful view so close to your house... How did you get on at the GP? Okay I hope? xx

Tangfastics Do you feel wobbly or weak on a juice detox? Or just virtuously healthy? I am seriously thinking about giving my poor old virgin Nutribullet Christmas present a whirl. Do you add protein powder or green super powder stuff? Grateful for advice, xx

Bloody my go to avoiding wine with dinner food. That would be Supernoodles. I know, I'm a heathen. Blush Loved what you said, this is a funny old business, isn't it? And I'm all for a timeshare at The Babes Beach House. Please. Grin

Pop How did your flit go? Are you settled in my dear? Was thinking of you, xx

sober your view is cracking! I would love to look out over water, I find it so calming. Happy Birthday!!! xx

rarity I'm a tic-tac girl. I know, old topic now. I find the cherry passion ones helpful, very sweet and just as good as a diversion tactic/tictac. My old Gentle loved them especially, you could rattle your tictac box from across the park and her recall was perfect. Who needs clickers? Grin xx

paffle I love a slow cooked pot to come home to, do you have any lovely recipes to share? When I get home, sometimes I'm too tired to cook, so it's lovely to come in and it's just there. xx

hope darling, darling hope. Have you seen the film The Purge? My colleague was telling me all about it. We could have a WB purge day. I just want to scoop you up and bosie you to bits. You and your sneaky cig reminded me of my old surgeon pal. I used to sit out with him when he smoked his cherry baccy pipe. I found great comfort in that misty, sweet smelling cloud. I hope you have comfort too, my friend. One day you will. xx

sweet we are brothers in arms with our appallingly behaved canines. I love her dearly, but she is like a naughty toddler. Into everything, onto everything, and everything into and onto her for good measure. I read on the Labrador Site about counter surfing. She surfs like she means it. Hmm We call her the Counter Terrorist. xx

Inde A mahoosive bosie for you, I need to get the Tardis up and running again so you can bosie your bairns, ((((((((((((tardis/bairns/indebosie))))))))))))))) xx

joey Fit like quine? Lovely to see you too! I know you will appreciate this one.... I couldn't be arsed making a wee pizza base the other night when I got in. So...I had a double Aitken's rowie pizza base. Salty, fatty, cheesy goodness squared. Heaven on a plate! (((((((((((butterybosie))))))))))) xx

I am going to post this and hope the Little Shitty Wheel doesn't wreak rewenge.

Please forgive typos etc, I dursn't preview in case it disappears, sorry if I've forgotten anyone, xxxx

aliasjoey · 15/04/2016 23:38

Wry sorry you've had a bad week Thanks hope you get a chance to snuggle down with pup this weekend. My dog is refusing to go outside in the rain, so I have to block him coming in until he's done a wee. He thinks I'm evil

I miss those rowies - stop talking about them!

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/04/2016 23:40

Puppy photos for the lovely sweet

She is a little bigger now, will look for a 'now' one. She is 5 months now. Last baby tooth out today, time flies! She swallowed most of them, I managed to find 3. The rest are probably embedded in my arms/ankles/nose. I won't miss the nippy stage! Grin

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/04/2016 23:47

joey I feel a Father Ted moment coming on....

The Lent episode, Cigarettes and Alcohol and Rollerblading.

Except with a giant rowie. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH - LOVELY ROWIES..... Grin

Look at the greasy goodness leeching through the bag. mmmmmmmmmmm

The Counter Terrorist age 5 months. She was peeved I made her stop playing and sit still in the midst of beachy loveliness for a photo, hence the face.

She had a lovely time, honest guv... Grin

P.S That is a sand moustache. Not chocolate ice cream. Not poo. Sand.

it does look like poo though

aliasjoey · 16/04/2016 00:13

Wry she is adorable

By coincidence my brother, who lives in Aberdeen, has also just got a Labrador puppy! Perhaps you'll meet at puppy training, they'll fall in doggy love (ie. Smell each other's bums) and next thing you know, she'll be up the duff and you'll be suing my brother for paternity. (I'm a sucker for romance)

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 16/04/2016 00:18

Retro hedgehog out of hibernation for spannagail's party, xx

Rarity75 · 16/04/2016 01:33

wry wow that was some typing. I will try tic tacs!

I am still awake Angry but I did stick to one glass of wine Smile

This happens every time DSS is here. He is 9. My arse of an oh refuses to allow him to sleep downstairs on his own. DSS refuses to sleep on his own at all. My DD is 5 and sleeps on her own (I know this is her home and all but..).

This means after a bloody hard week at work I am downstairs on the sofa bed. I cannot settle downstairs.

It's my bloody house and as much as I want to welcome DSS being evicted from my own bed is a step too far. I didn't mind to begin with, new environment, strange people etc. But it's been over a year. AIBU??

Rarity75 · 16/04/2016 01:35

Maybe I should start my own thread in AIBU Hmm

Rarity75 · 16/04/2016 01:44

I only have 2 bedrooms btw! Not aiming for warty stepmotherdom just lack of space.
