There's no judgy pants worn on this bus, nor hoking of bosoms!! It's filled with every day life, love and laundry. As simple as that. The rest falls in between.

We're a welcoming, supporting thread, filled with a mine of information from many years of experience, from those who have consumed alcohol day in, day out...hidden the 'habit', the lie, disguised our drinking with many an excuse. So perfected over the years or new to the guilt of drinking more than you think you should.....

Well done on the jog faire! I always enjoy the post exercise knackered feeling and hopefully it will mean you have a lovely sleep tonight.

Was meant to be doing a half marathon next month which is not going to happen - let my fitness go so much I think it might actually kill me! Thinking of booking a couple of races in the autumn though to give me a goal to sort myself out a bit. Really miss the feeling after a long run, especially as there are so many beautiful places to run around here. I was so evangelical about exercise a few months ago and it really massively improved my mood, I'm quite annoyed at myself for getting out the habit.

sober I totally get the fear about how long my body will keep coping with the abuse I'm throwing at it. I'm meant to get bloods done but the form is currently tucked away in the back of a drawer as I'm scared of what might show up. Stupid as I know that having them done won't actually change anything. Keep thinking maybe I'll be really strict with moderating for a couple of weeks to try and edge liver enzymes down (if they are up) then get them done.

Finally have a counselling appointment for Tuesday which is positive, but have looked on the website at the referral criteria and it definately says it doesn't take people under CMHT care. Tempted to ask GP not to refer me to CMHT for now and just see how I get on for a few weeks, couldn't cope with being put down to the bottom of another waiting list. Also still not sure if I'm unwell enough and feel a bit of a fraud as still managing to work.

Didn't moderate last night at all, so today was another hungover/bloated/anxious wasted day. Work tomorrow so moderating tonight and hopefully an early night. Keep saying tomorrow, next week etc will be different but it never is at the moment!

Seems all of our electrical computer things have all gone wrong at once! I now need to replace mine as it's died, luckily they managed to save data to memory stick (old photos etc) so that was a relief

Cunning, we all feel like crap parents sometimes, and we all have those days when there are hours of TV/iPad use and abuse, so try not to beat yourself up about it. You went to bed sober and that's a brilliant thing!

Elba, I'm sorry you're feeling down love, your last few posts have sounded a bit subdued, I hope you are able to go ahead with the counselling appointment for Tuesday as I'm sure it will be helpful.

Morning all. Well a night away in a hotel room would previously have include a bottle of wine in my room, but last night I had a gin and tonic and that's it! So why this morning, do I feel so unbelievably shit? Having a hangover when you haven't had the booze is not fair!

Spanna she is beautiful, I took SweetDog for a walk by the river yesterday afternoon, and he wasn't the naughtiest Working Cocker there - there's a look of hopeless resignation that spaniel owners share. I like the idea of getting my treats on I've ordered a footner. I think I do have a bit of the boing.

Hello I am a newbie and long time lurker due to denial that I need this bus but it definitely goes my way! First day sober struggling with not drinking at lunchtime damn flexible working , and my partner's disappointment as they only drink on Fridays and like company so that's me 😀

So after posting pics of my lovely dog running like a loon we found out yesterday that her back leg is broken . It is an injury which mainly affects greyhounds ( she's a hyper collie ). So op on Tues and then she has to live in a cage for 4 weeks. She probably been running on a broken leg for a couple of weeks now as that was when we noticed a slight limp.
Oh and we have no insurance as we have recently moved country and I cancelled it last week. Bugger 😡😡😡
Anyway hope everyone has a lovely Friday and will see you all later for a bit of hand holding 😀

Oh no sober - that's awful. The living in the cage bit sounds like a nightmare for a hyper collie. Bless her. Hope that the op goes OK - presumably you have to keep her as still as possible until Tuesday?

Sorry haven't checked in for a few days. It's been manic here.

The last 48 hours I've had a few drinks. I knew I would. It's been hard the past few weeks with various life events happening. I woke up this morning and decided to exercise and feel a little better now. I'm planning on an AF day today, and hopefully for the weekend too.

Sober oh poor baby dog a similar thing happened with DD1 when she was at nursery, fractured her arm & I didn't realise for a few days she could still move all her fingers. The 'mum guilt' piled on!!!! I hope she heals soon after op. Bless her x

Has been a manic week work wise. I had a massive urge for a glass of fizz earlier but I let the moment pass, but fuck me, as Elephant said this morning it's Friday & the afternoon was always a drinks-a-clock. Old habits die hard but they do die
