Hi, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves.

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!!

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!!

Bahahaha! Ma! That sounds hilarious! When I was gearing up for a smear test earlier on in the week, it was discussed whether I'd need a flange-whisperer to assist in unclenching.

Joey I'm really glad I didn't read that at 4am when DCat decided it was time to play, or I'd have woken the rest of the block up laughing.

Day 3, I feel like I've got a fuzzy head, and can't drink my usual boatload of tea - the milk seems to be furring my tongue up more than usual. Odd.

I'm taking DP to a local-ish farm shop, which has a coffee shop attached - I'm gonna have a mahoosive slice of cake I think. I'm on the look out for a posh ginger cordial & some interesting game. Then we're off later on to see a friend play in his band - we've been promising ourselves we're going to see him play for ages but I kept getting pissed too early to see them we've not managed it yet.

Hi Ma, I'm back from my travels. Ds didn't do as well as he hoped but had a lovely weekend, stayed with friends, drank moderately (for me), enjoyed time with ds including lovely Chinese meal on way home, and a WB free two days. Have not got out of pyjamas today, knackered! Watched Wimbledon. What have I missed on the bus?

Day 3 here - No - can you do something distracting for a while? The fuckit reflex only lasts so long, then you can go back to polishing your halo :)

I've been busy in the kitchen today - whizzed up a batch of pumpkin seed pesto, and one of a super seed butter. Made some breakfast bars, and cleaned out a cupboard (one down, five to go), and put some of the crap that was on the countertop into said cupboard. I can see actual countertops!

Looking forward to tomorrow - DP is on lates, so I get full control of the remote - woo hoo! I also have to play cat cuddle ping pong at about 10 pm - they occupy separate areas of the flat, but are perfectly synchronised in terms of when they both need cuddles!

Going for day 1 tomorrow. Am actually sick of drinking.

I thought it would be nice to have a ("a" meaning "several") glass(es) of pimms whilst watching Wimbo. Has anyone seen the adverts for pimms/ready prepared pimms fruit etc? And the supermarkets have been selling it for £12. Its no wonder we have a nation of problem drinkers! I now feel crap and my teeth feel like they've been coated with slime. I managed 26 AF days in June why can't I get back on track again? It WILL be day 1 again tomorrow. Anyone joining me? Night night babes xx

Good morning Babes! First day back in the office after Thursday's embarrasment - I'm going to style it out & see if anyone's brave enough to mention how pissed I was (as I can never figure out how obvious I am), and if asked, I'll just say I'd been out for a liquid lunch with friends, and it all went a bit sideways....

Day 4 here, and I had an unbroken night's sleep - the rain seems to have calmed DCat2 down. Apparently DCat1 sat on the end of DPs bed & yodelled at him at 1 this morning but I didn't hear a thing from the safety of the living room (shift work & sleeping arrangements - a whole other thread!).

I'm still waking up in the mornings with a mouth like Ghandi's flip flop, so I'm guessing I've still got a way to go on the rehydration front. I'll take that as my excuse for not going to hot yoga - I shall patiently wait for some of that magical boing to happen. Think I've got a few more days to go. I distinctly remember getting to about day 10 and the boing hitting, and I was filled with thoughts of "ooh, so that's what it is - super", then hit one of the many offies on the way home from work - genius!

Day 1 for many this morning - April, Ma, Hands Looking - you all know what you are doing - be kind to yourselves, and get some opal fruits down yer gobs. Talking of which, I'll be buying a literal pack on the way to work to keep handy & give myself a cryptic visual reminder of what I'm doing.

Gotta go - DCat2 is giving me the stink eye, sat on the coffee table, either chewing on my wires or knocking things off... laters, Babes!

Hello - I'd like to get on the bus please!

I've spent the last two days pretty much solidly reading these threads, from JWN's OP. I hoped to have read them all before joining in, but am only up to thread four! It has been so powerful to read though - inspiring and emotional. And I'm ready.

A little about me - I'm 37 and have been drinking since I was 17 - but problematically for the last 6 years I reckon. I can't remember the last day I didn't drink. My intake has increased to roughly a bottle of wine a day (sometimes a bottle and half) and usually a lot more at weekends.

I've been facing up to it properly in the last month - and my Dr and brand new CBT therapist (one appointment so far) both recommended weaning off. So yesterday I bought 3 'mini' bottles of wine with the idea that I would have one per night to cut down and then stop..... Obviously I drank them all.

So that's it, I don't think I can wean - I have to stop completely.

Day One.

well, it's safe to say that I have had the piss well & truly ripped out of me this morning. so much for thinking I might have got away with it.

onwards & upwards. not looking forward to my 1:1 with the boss in an hour....
