It wasn't meant for you. Does that fit somehow?

HoHonutty · 27/12/2014 22:37

Who did he mean to send it to?

MuttonCadet · 27/12/2014 22:37

If you don't "get it" immediately, I'd think it was meant for someone else - definitely flirty, I wouldn't be happy.

Ratbagcatbag · 27/12/2014 22:38

Any other messages? Or just this one.

Initial thoughts are woman obviously, but then why has he blown it?
A child now adult he knew nothing about?
A relative that's jus come out of the woodwork and wants reconciliation?

Nope, woman seems most obvious!

Notmeagain1 · 27/12/2014 22:39

I'm with Mutton. Doesn't look like it was for you and looks personal. I think he has some serious explaining to do.

PinkSquash · 27/12/2014 22:43

Sounds dodgy on the face of it.

ImGoingForATwix · 27/12/2014 22:43

Could it be an estranged parent?

helenenemo · 27/12/2014 22:44

Oh dear.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 27/12/2014 22:44

Oh dear, deffo not meant for you I'd guess.Hopefully just a friend

FourthMary · 27/12/2014 22:45

Sorry, it made me think ow. Where was he today?

SoleSource · 27/12/2014 22:45

Was he at the pub today?

ZenNudist · 27/12/2014 22:46

Not for you sorry. Are you going to ask him?

ForTheLoveOfSocks · 27/12/2014 22:47

Sorry for not being clearer, I found it on his messages to another woman who he works with

OP posts:
Innocentbystander01 · 27/12/2014 22:47

Another woman :( sorry.

SoleSource · 27/12/2014 22:49

Oh, he is cheating in some form. You must feel shocked, hurt, confused, going over your lives together and asking why.

HoHonutty · 27/12/2014 22:50

What a prick.

Ratbagcatbag · 27/12/2014 22:51

Did the messages either side of this give any clues?

I text my boss loads, he's a good friend and has been supportive of me both professionally and personally through a tough year, if someone read one text it could be taken out of context easily, BUT besides him being a friend there is nothing at all.

FourthMary · 27/12/2014 22:51

Sounds like he possibly got cold feet and changed his mind.

PinkSquash · 27/12/2014 22:52

Oh dear, in that context it doesn't seem innocent. I'm sorry.

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 27/12/2014 22:53

Well out of context it doesn't sound great but I would really want to see other messages before I jumped to any conclusions.

I'd say he got an offer. He refused it (hopefully due to conscience as he is married) by making an excuse. He is now possibly regretting this and is trying to get himself a second chance.

He is teetering on the brink of an abyss, I'd guess.

BuzzardBirdRoast · 27/12/2014 22:54

Any kisses?
