Blossom - I don't think it matters too much if he's a bit older; it's not like he was dancing The Charleston to the Cumberland Gap before you were born.

gotta I can understand him being upset being called a player. Why not give him a little chance.
made true LOL I have responded to his lovely message and try and keep an open mind.

dippinmytoe · 10/12/2014 12:10

blossom the guy I'm seeing is gulp ... 13 yrs older than me... He doesn't look or act this age at ! If you like him , meet him... It can't hurt too much.

Blossomflowers · 10/12/2014 12:17

dipp Ironically when I was younger I had relationship with a man 15 years older, I suppose it is just the fact he would be 60 next year that really is doing my head in. I ma going to do my best to put that aside at this stage

newstartforme · 10/12/2014 12:24

Hi all.. am still here lurking lol..
Well a few days after the awful bombshell of me being dumped! am a little more together now. It still hurts a lot, and I still keep thinking oh he will realise he has made a mistake and beg me back !! but in reality thats not going to happen is it..
Hmm anyone any tips for moving on.. do I dive back in? or take a bit of time out ?
Am eating a bit now- god it sounds back not eating! on a plus side I could do with losing half a stone- just not this way!! no energy or will to exercise, that will come back in time i guess..

dippinmytoe · 10/12/2014 12:25

ok I'm 37 blossom it freaked me out at first... but after meeting him.. its not a case of him being an old fogey . I know I wouldn't meet a guy 13 yrs younger than me tho. you have nothing to loose just meeting him.

Blossomflowers · 10/12/2014 12:29

dipp you are right, lets see what happens, will keep you posted.
New As they say the best way to get over a man is to get under one Grin, get yourself out there again.

newstartforme · 10/12/2014 12:41

blossom thats made me smile! yes maybe I should do just that lol.. my barriers are up so high now that noone could touch me!

Thing is though I had a few signs that I foolishly ignored! one def one was when he received a message for pof !!!!!! was I blind!!
Have reset my subsription to a well known on line dating site Grin so will see.. And thanks to all who replied to me a few days ago.. it did help

rioux it was only a few months this thing.. so I never really lost my feedom so to speak.. I think a distraction would definetly help a little.. Of course I need to be wary just like I should have been with all this.
I would say to anyone though if it does feel that something is not quite right then act on it. Dont bury your head in the sand like I did!

Blossomflowers · 10/12/2014 13:01

new just going out and dating again will help I'm sure. Can keep things casual until you feel stronger.
I am pretty much back to square, messaging several people, can get a bit confusing lol

jesy · 10/12/2014 13:49

I'm going to ask if he'll meet me for coffee at local garden centre ? maybe have a nose around Xmas displays ?
Thinking about it going to town on Sat night might bump into his mates n not sure I can deal with that x

Well Mr Builder has jst got in touch after couple of days silence apologising saying work has been manic and still keen to meet up again. Will give him a chance this time but needs to try a little harder.

Blahdeblah111 · 10/12/2014 18:39

sooo what do you do, when you've only had sex with one bloke in the last 6 years, now you have met someone else you want to have sex with but you are terrified of the whole thing?! haha.. such a mixed bag of emotions!

Blossomflowers · 10/12/2014 18:53

haha I feel a bit seedy at the thought of drinking beforehand... because we'll both be thinking 'we are getting slightly drunk just so the sex is marginally less awkward'

cringe!

gottafindaman4yagirl · 10/12/2014 20:14

Blossom,Rioux I met up with Major Tom, I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt and he met me in my village so I didn't go put of my way.
He's very into me and wants to get to know me, I did throw some challenging questions at him. Told him I am not comfortable with the label perfect because I am not and I do not expect perfection from anyone.
He is so love sick puppy, its the only way I can describe him, he's a bit of a geek and seems sincere in his efforts to please me. Kept telling me I was beautiful, I told him he didn't need to tell me so often.
My only problem is he's very touchy feely, but I can tell he's not a jack the lad or a man who is a perv.
I did say to him that you don't know me, he said he had a good feeling.
The only thing is he's very eager to touch me, my bum. I find him a turn on tbh and am no saint.
I think that generally women like a bit of aloof with men, moody and brooding.Major Tom is a man who is totally vocal about his attraction, I am not use to it.

SuperFlyHigh · 10/12/2014 20:24

gotta I'd give him a chance... But keep in mind your boundaries and don't be afraid to tell him if it's not for you eg touching bum. I personally think there are differences between how you both communicate but no harm telling him.

SuperFlyHigh · 10/12/2014 20:25

So I joined smooch and I put what I want eg kids (didn't mention adoption as that's one of my preferred) still got attention but it's hard keeping track of emails.

gottafindaman4yagirl · 10/12/2014 20:45

sueper I am quite domineering by nature, I don't think major tom is. I will give him a chance, maybe some men are very ott attentive without being a player.
I wish ;)

SuperFlyHigh · 10/12/2014 20:53

Opposites attract sometimes...

Blossomflowers · 10/12/2014 21:04

rioux Was the same for me, I was with the same person for 20 years, was strange having sex with a new person but good actually.

Well have a date with MR football coach on Friday, he looks nice, my age and seems in touch with his emotions Never get excited these first dates though.
