Surely it was genuine???

OP posts:

WTAF? I thought she was a bit casual about going out with her mates for the evening with all this going on. Pfft.

My thoughts too.
If it had really happened, there's no way you could causually go out with your mates. Her manner was too cool.
In reality you would be tearing your hair out if something like this was REALLY happening. Hmm

RandomFriend · 21/10/2014 11:45

there are still places where women can get a pension at 60

Correct, I searched this and found a list of countries and state pension ages. It turns out there are several places.

I don't understand why the thread has been suspended, every detail of what she went through seemed very genuine to me. I spent quite a bit of time considering the matter and offering my tiny contributions, I am therefore just a bit puzzled as to how it was that I was misled.

wheresthebeach · 21/10/2014 11:48

I just wish they'd leave the title, with an explanation that it's been deleted, for 24-48 hours. The number of times I come back and hunt pointlessly lately....arghhhh

Squidstirfry · 21/10/2014 12:00

Posters were pressing for more and more perdonal detailsuch as "exactly where do you live" MNHQ could have pulled to protect OP from revealing too much.

Squidstirfry · 21/10/2014 12:00

Perdonal = personal!

I am keeping away from "Relationships" now because most of them seem like fabricated stories. I used to believe them, more fool me.

Perhaps we should have a hypothetical/fantasy/made up/bullshit relationship forum;

People get to post their stuff (aka try out their creative writing!) and if you post in it you know what you're getting into! Just a thought.

nrv0us · 21/10/2014 13:32

Does this happen a lot around here? I am fairly new, and have already been hooked into a couple of these fake threads. I wonder how the mods know which ones are made up? What are some of the warning signs?

AnyFucker · 21/10/2014 13:35

it's happening a lot at the moment, vrv

they tend to follow a formula though

when you have been around here for a while, you will get to recognise it

AnyFucker · 21/10/2014 13:35

nrv

nrv0us · 21/10/2014 13:40

So far I guess it's a certain degree of salaciousness that's the main unifying factor.

AnyFucker · 21/10/2014 13:42

and a certain degree of apparent "helplessness" in the face of extreme provocation

AnyFucker · 21/10/2014 13:43

but I lurrrrve him and other such crap

getthefeckouttahere · 21/10/2014 13:43

Drip feeding of crucial/salacious information seems to be the main tell for me.

nrv0us · 21/10/2014 13:45

Also maybe also an absence of the kind of messiness that tends to characterise most everyday relationship situations?
