Superman top (long sleeved blue top with a big 'S' on the front)

would you dump him?

Forth date.

I'm horrified.

RhondaJean · 19/04/2014 20:06

Nah depends where we were going, but I'm a big kid too.

handfulofcottonbuds · 19/04/2014 20:07

What did he wear to dates 1,2 and 3?

He might dump you for not being able to spell Grin

Serious answer. I probably wouldn't notice. OH isn't exactly the most sartorial dresser, but he is wonderful and we have been together for over 30 years.

VelvetSpoon · 19/04/2014 20:09

It depends.

If he's a comic nerd/Leonard from BBT type, then it's probably ok.

Other than that, dump.

For the rest of the evening just encourage him to keep his coat on Grin

ThatBloodyWoman · 19/04/2014 20:10

No.
Why would you?

I find it a perfectly acceptable choice so long as his pants aren't on the outside of his trousers.

Fairylea · 19/04/2014 20:12

Hmmm totally depends on where you're going. They're actually quite trendy now - big bang series and all that. Wouldn't write him off completely!

Ladyfoxglove · 19/04/2014 20:13

fourth ahem! sorry about that.

Previous three dates he has worn jeans, converse and various 'amusing' T-shirts (including Superdry, Snoopy and AC/DC.

He's forty fucking six ffs.

RayPurchase · 19/04/2014 20:13
Hmm
ThatBloodyWoman · 19/04/2014 20:15

You can still have a humorous sense of style in your 40's ya know....

Ladyfoxglove · 19/04/2014 20:15

... forgot to mention his belly too.

It's just a serious turn-off.

No, he's not a nerd sadly, he's your typical, football watching bloke.

OP posts:
Fairylea · 19/04/2014 20:16

You don't fancy him much by the sounds of it! :)

Bunbaker · 19/04/2014 20:17

The football watching might be a deal breaker for me. I don't judge people by their clothes sense or lack of.

picnicbasketcase · 19/04/2014 20:17

If he'd turned up in a catsuit and cowboy boots, that might be a problem. A slogan tshirt, not so much really.

RayPurchase · 19/04/2014 20:18

I wouldnt keep seeing him if I were you, you don't seem to actually, you know like him.

Olddear · 19/04/2014 20:18

Dump.

ThatBloodyWoman · 19/04/2014 20:18

Lady it's just not going to work is it?

You don't need a reason to not want to continue seeing him.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 19/04/2014 20:18

Are you pissed off that he tried to upstage your Wonder Woman tiara?

Yes, dump

VelvetSpoon · 19/04/2014 20:19

Sounds like it's his style.

I work with someone a similar age who dresses in jeans, converse, close cropped hair, geeky glasses and retro type tshirts. It's not a look I would necessarily think 'wow sexy' about (that's just my own preference!), but it suits his personality/physical shape a lot, and he looks good.

I don't think there's a rule to say that you can't dress like this in your 40s, BUT that said some people probably can't pull it off.

HecatePropylaea · 19/04/2014 20:19

Do you like him as a person?
the horror that was my now husband's taste in clothes when we met would need to be seen to be believed. Grin
I dont subscribe to the 'clothes maketh the man' school of thought.
if, otoh, you dont like him, you dont need a reason to not see him again, just so no to a 5th date.
but I think you might regret it if you stopped seeing a funny, intelligent, kind, nice person (if he is Grin ) because of a crap top.

eyeroller · 19/04/2014 20:19

You sound laugh a minute, lighten up girl or you will be on the shelf forever :)

Ladyfoxglove · 19/04/2014 20:19

I don't like him do I. Clearly I need to dump.

OP posts:
meditrina · 19/04/2014 20:20

I'd be more worried by SuperDry on an over-40 than th others.

If Sheldonesque, then no problem. None whatsoever. Not at all.
