I didn't know where to put this, as it doesn't really belong here or anywhere.

I am so fucking fed up. My wonderful little boy is 2 tomorrow and I'm trying to decorate the flat for him with balloons and banners. There is literally just me and him. There is no one else. I've just texted my sister in law and said seeing as she hasn't even responded to my text I assume she won't be coming to my sons birthday tea tomorrow. She was the only one invited (with my nephews) so there will be just the 2 of us as usual. She cares so little she couldn't even be arsed to text to say she wasn't coming.

My poor son deserves so much, and instead there's just me and him and stupid multi pack of party cups that will do for 10.

I'm so sick of doing everything and having no one. I'm so tired of being alone and letting ds down. I don't know how much more I can take, my son deserves a better life than the one I'm giving him. I just can't do this anymore, and I know I have to, but I can't. It's shit.

Late to the party but woo! woo! Happy Birthday gorgeous little man, we'd have come if we were invited! xxx

anonacfr · 23/03/2014 20:22

Fantastic! I am so happy you two had a great day. What a cutie you little boy is.

NorthernChinchilla · 23/03/2014 20:22

There must be a MN dust problem, so many people with things in their eyes...

Just bobbed back in, the picture is wonderful. I also happen to have a 2 year old DS with blond hair who loves balloons too!

Delighted that he's had a brilliant birthday, and even more pleased that you're feeling so much more cheerful. Have a Wine or Brew, you deserve it, and have a good evening!

Fifyfomum · 23/03/2014 20:24

He is only 2 so he wont remember, next year or the year after he will have his own little friends to play with and you can have a birthday party for them :) don't worry about it, they make their own little social groups soon enough

sisterofmercy · 23/03/2014 20:28

Yes, his happiness was all YOUR doing. You done good. You deserve Cake and Wine and Thanks

Happy birthday little lad!

Only1scoop · 23/03/2014 20:31

ScarletStar · 23/03/2014 20:32

I'm in floods! Happy birthday to your wee man and I hope you had a great day. :) :) :)

EustaciaVye · 23/03/2014 20:36

I just noticed this thread. I am glad your DS had a lovely birthday, and that you were given lots of support yesterday :)

We keep a happy jar in our house. Once a week we write down something that has happened that made us happy that week. At the end of the year we will have loads and loads of happy memories and I plan to make it into a memory book. I had a really low week last week, and I dipped into the happy jar. It is amazing how it perked me a little.

Perhaps you could do something similar? It would be a way of creating a type of memory book for DS, and another way to remind yourself that sometimes life is kind.

Happy Birthday minisillymillyb Cake

AwfulMaureen · 23/03/2014 20:37

Milly of all the birthdays I had as a child, the one I remember was the one where it was just Mum and me. I don't know why it was...my siblings were elsewhere I suppose/....I can still see the cake and remember how happy I was that day. I didn't need anyone else....just a treat and my Mum. x

NorksAreMessy · 23/03/2014 20:45

milly perhaps you could print off this thread and keep it somewhere safe, in the souvenirs box perhaps.
It will remind you how brilliant you made your little boy's birthday, how much people care about you, and how you felt (sad and happy) on his birthday.

He is lucky to have you Flowers

Whereisegg · 23/03/2014 20:47

Aw I just came back to see if you'd updated, I'm so pleased your ds (and you) have had such a lovely day Smile

LizzieVereker · 23/03/2014 20:51

You gave him a wonderful, golden day. He's a lovely, lucky boy Thanks.

halfwildlingwoman · 23/03/2014 21:10

He is beautiful and you are doing great! Lots of love.

RunLikeSomeFeckersChasing · 23/03/2014 21:25

You made today perfect. You are "enough" for that perfect little boy. Well done on today.

lavenderhoney · 23/03/2014 21:37

I love the happy jar idea:)
Well done for today milly:) and good luck for the future:)

Allalonenow · 23/03/2014 21:48

So pleased that you and your Birthday Boy enjoyed your day.

I think you are a very special Mum. I hope this thread shows you that you are not alone, please check out all the posts that ask where you are and offer you friendship.

Even if there is no one near you, keep posting here, there will always be someone who understands what you are going through, and will hold your hand.

I so much hope that you do not have so much barstarding shit in the future.

I like Eustacia's idea of a happiness jar. I am trying a similar thing of 100 days of happiness.

Thanks Thanks Thanks

Pommes · 23/03/2014 22:34

Happy, happy birthday!
Cutest picture.....
Is birthday boy in the land of nod, dreaming about balloons and cake now?

OnlyLovers · 24/03/2014 09:14

I'm flat-out crying Grin

OP, it sounds as though you both had a perfect day. Remember, it was YOU who made him so happy on his birthday. You're an awesome mum.

MexicanSpringtime · 24/03/2014 20:37

So pleased for you both. You will have to remember this day for the next time you are stressing out, things are often not as bad as we imagine they will be, especially when we put our all into them.

MyPrettyToes · 24/03/2014 20:51

You are a most wonderful mother. That little boy is absolutely lucky to have you. I suspect you will have a wonderful life together. Belated happy birthday to your son.
