I didn't know where to put this, as it doesn't really belong here or anywhere.

I am so fucking fed up. My wonderful little boy is 2 tomorrow and I'm trying to decorate the flat for him with balloons and banners. There is literally just me and him. There is no one else. I've just texted my sister in law and said seeing as she hasn't even responded to my text I assume she won't be coming to my sons birthday tea tomorrow. She was the only one invited (with my nephews) so there will be just the 2 of us as usual. She cares so little she couldn't even be arsed to text to say she wasn't coming.

My poor son deserves so much, and instead there's just me and him and stupid multi pack of party cups that will do for 10.

I'm so sick of doing everything and having no one. I'm so tired of being alone and letting ds down. I don't know how much more I can take, my son deserves a better life than the one I'm giving him. I just can't do this anymore, and I know I have to, but I can't. It's shit.

Oh Op.
If it's any consolation, I have a partner who is rather bugger off so I could spend my daughters birthday with her in our own. He ruins it yearly. I'd love to spend te day with her going to the park and having a birthday tea. Don't assume couples that you see are happy, some would rather be on their own.
Have a lovely day with your angel. X

Where are you op? Please pm if you like! I've got a nearly 2 year old ds who would love a little friend! Hope you've had a lovely day!

Ah, he's gorgeous! Where abouts are you op? Maybe some of us are nearby - you sound lovely and I'm sure you could make some friends so it's not just you and the little man for birthday tea next year :-)

Wine This is for your mummy when you have gone to bed.

Hedgehead · 23/03/2014 17:09

I feel for you. Second the others that you are NOT letting him down and that you are all he needs. But I agree it feels fucking shit to have expectations of others (even if they are small ones!) and have others just shit all over them. Do you do anything socially with DS? Mother's and kids groups? Sorry I don't know what they're called as I do not have DC yet...

MikeTheShite · 23/03/2014 17:12

Happy Birthday wee one!

Hope you're both having a wonderful day!

Mrscupcake23 · 23/03/2014 17:26

Love your photo he looks so happy.

I work as a nanny and have done a party for a two year old where mum didn't want to come .

Party was a disaster lots of tantrums and not wanting to share birthday toys. Think your little boy had a much nicer day than the two year old I looked after even though the party cost loads .

Big happy birthday I would also love to send a card if you pm your address.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 23/03/2014 17:44

Your little boy is lucky to have a mum who cares so much

This. What a lovely photo. Be proud of yourself.

How many more times have you sung or whispered "Happy birthday"?

Flowers for you. Keep posting.

SoleSource · 23/03/2014 18:18

I wish I had a child I could do stuff with. I have no other family just me and disabled DS. You're so lucky even though it doesn't feel that way.

Happy Birthday to your cute boy and I hope you have both had a wonderful day of good memories.

sillymillyb · 23/03/2014 20:01

Oh! I have just checked this thread and I am so utterly overwhelmed by all your lovely messages for ds. Thank you so very much, I wasn't expecting this at all and it's made me all weepy but in a good way. Thank you all so, so much - really, you have no idea how much this means to me. I'm all emotional now!

Ds and I have had a wonderful day, from start to finish he has beamed, giggled and totally embraced his birthdayness! It's been more than I ever expected if I'm honest, and I'm on a bit of a high now I've put him to bed and managed to sit down!

I know I'm repeating myself, but thank you so much for all your messages saying happy birthday. To know you were all thinking of ds when I had been feeling so alone is really special to me. You lot are wonderful Thanks
