Can you say one thing that your DP does that is completely unnecessary but makes your day that bit better?

Mine is tea in bed. Everyday. Didn't know I liked tea that much but would really miss it if he didn't do it.

Sometimes I come home and DH has done something funny with DS's toys, like putting a small bunny on the back of a horse, and leaving me to find it. It's very sweet!

Sausagesaurus · 20/02/2014 18:33

If DP is working from home:

he'll always greet me when I get home from work by stopping what he's doing and giving me a massive cuddle and a kiss.

I always get a text off him when he wakes up asking me if I made it to work ok and tells me he loves me.

If he's working away:

He'll creep around in the morning so he doesn't wake me up, then wakes me up anyway before he leaves to give me a kiss and tell me he loves me

He'll put the fire on downstairs so it's warm when I get up

When he gets home no matter what time, he just wants to talk to me because "he hasn't seen me all day"

And generally:

I'm pregnant at the moment and I'm always knackered really early, so he gets me a blanket and a couple of cushions for me to lie on him and he'll mess with my hair

When I work from home he gets me a cup of tea and and toast before I start work.

There's lots and lots of other things. I really am truely very lucky Smile

Mine works alot of hours, more than i do in a stressfull job. This week we both had a couple of days off together, he insisted he did all the the housework and cooking whilst me and DD sat round in our pjs watching films, so I could have a break. Bloody love him !!!

HairyGrotter · 20/02/2014 18:54

Love this thread! What a lovely bunch of partners/husbands/wives folk have!

My fiancé gives me hot stone massages without wanting sex, whenever I want one and strokes my back till I fall asleep! I loves him too much sometimes!

ThistledownAndCobweb · 20/02/2014 19:11

Makes me breakfast everyday.

Prepares me an insulated mug of tea to drink on my way to work.

Lights the fire before I get home so the living room is cosy.

Removes mice that the cat brings in and let's me hide under the duvet while he does this.

TawdryTatou · 20/02/2014 19:20

Cuddles me to sleep.
Lays out my breakfast cereal, dish, spoon, Berocca, glass and vitamins every night so they're there when I get up for work.
Does all washing and ironing for me and my kids.
Is endlessly patient with me and my teens.
Feeds our ponies every day and buys them organic carrots Grin
Leaves love notes around the place and sometimes presents on my pillow.

I could go on. He's truly special and I appreciate and love him beyond measure.

Whatnamenext · 20/02/2014 19:47

Mine has taken my 2 naughty children swimming whilst I went to work. He walked the dog (with them and then without) then went to the supermarket... And us now out getting takeaway. I luffs him.

Oh what a lovely thread

Has made me a bit tearful Blush am preggerz though

Lovely things my dh does

Gives me back rubs (essential as had such a bad back this pregnancy)

Is constantly touching, stroking me as he loves my skin

The way he is with our dd, he is just besotted with her

He talks to and kisses my bump Blush

Sends me random texts when he's at work just saying he loves me

Gets the dcs up and makes them breakfast every morning so I can sleep a bit longer

Buys me random little gifts for no reason

He is amazing :)

Whatnamenext · 21/02/2014 23:10

I am Envy of some of you. I do far more for dh than he does for me and he knows it.

Sad51 · 22/02/2014 21:11

Are you all goddesses by any chance?

Whatnamenext · 22/02/2014 21:26

Not here. Very lucky (and a failed marriage that taught me well!)

Turns my slippers round. Due to the state of some of our downstairs, and the new carpets on stairs, upstairs and front room, we wear slippers in the building zone but leave them at the bottom of the stairs/front room to contain the muck. He always always turns mine round so i can step straight into them.

He also love my animals - i had them before him.

Sparrowlegs248 · 22/02/2014 21:53

Oh this is not for me but cute - collects my long haired cats hair so the birds can line their nests with it!

Millie2013 · 22/02/2014 22:09

He jumps up, in the middle of the night, to see to DD, he whisks her upstairs to get her ready for bed, when he gets home at night, to allow me a little "me" time and we whisks her downstairs the odd weekend morning, to watch cartoons and give me a mini lie in. He's fab!

I'm not as lazy as that makes me sound, I do the majority of the parenting and housework, as he works full time, with a long commute, it just helps, lots to know that he can give me a break

nkf · 22/02/2014 22:11

Awww. I want one.

Lovethebubbles · 22/02/2014 22:21

Occasionally leaves me unexpected notes telling me he loves me. For example, in our bed when he knows I'll be going to bed when he's working a late shift and won't be there.

Getting up with DD one day over the weekend leaving me to lay in.

Never ever grumbles when I say I've arranged to meet friends for coffee/dinner......Always really supportive of me having some "me" time.

NinjaCow · 22/02/2014 22:46

He brings me hot chocolate and cereal in bed- and wakes me up gently. I am terrible at mornings, but in the holidays, I do the same for him, or on weekends, so it works out well for us.

Sometimes I come home and he just randomly gives me some flowers, some chocolates, or even a card with a message on- just because. I'm trying to surprise him with little things every now and then too as it really boosts me whenever I get anything.

Screenclean · 08/01/2015 21:24

This is an old thread but so lovely, so ner zombie alert Grin

wednesdaygirl · 08/01/2015 23:08

Love this thread

littlemamma13 · 13/01/2015 10:46

All your partners are so sweet :) I don't get the tea in bed as I'm the one who is up first every morning..
But one thing he does do which I love is always keeps the chocolate cupboard stocked because he knows I'm a choccy monster!

FlourishingMrs · 17/01/2015 09:16

He does a random willy dance for me, when I stressed with work, makes me laugh.

He does tea, cuddle all night, cooks 5 times a week. Lovely text every morning to start my day.

Gem124 · 21/01/2015 21:58

Love this thread! I'm another one who gets a cup of tea every morning (with extra love) & back stroked till I'm a sleep. I also get lifts to work & back in horrible weather so I don't have to drive in it. I have ocd and he learned a rountine I have with my night time glass of water so he can do it for me and it's 'safe'. Incredibly blessed x

Dowser · 21/01/2015 23:35

Another extremely lucky lady here.

Breakfast in bed every day. Often he is rewarded with ' special ' cuddles.

Cooks meals. Sees to recycling , puts out bins.

There's always a cuddle left in the pot for me.

Taxi service for one of his step grandchildren

He's wonderful when I have poorly days,

He's restored my faith in men

He's loyal and respectful.

Goes anywhere I want to go. Even happy to accompanyme when shopping.

Allows me to have total control of the tv remote.

He's loved and respected by my children.

The only thing he doesn't do is leave love notes. Not complaining though, every thing he does for me shows how loved I am.

WhenMarnieWasThere · 22/01/2015 07:05

Dh goes to work a couple of hours before we have to get up, then he phones the house at 7 as an alarm call and to say he loves me. Smile
