New Year Resolutions Anyone?

Welcome one and all, I'm Mouse, nice to meet YOU. :)

This is a thread for those who want to give up drink completely, or are maybe thinking about doing controlled drinking, or cutting down slowly, it's all up to you.

You know your limits, you know what is required, it's in YOUR hands.

Whatever your goal, you'll find unconditional support here. Always.

There will be talk of drinking quite often and those who fall off the Bus will post about it, so if that is going to jeopardise your chances of complete sobriety, then maybe the DRY threads would suit you better, as they are complete abstainers, but EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE :)

There are no hard and fast rules, other than the support here is unconditional, it may be in the form of tough love at times, but it's always meant with the very best of intentions.

There are two sayings that we rather like here -

1. • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement
2. • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

The Bus may be 'mythical', but the support is real, it is honest and it will help you to achieve what it is that you seek, as long as you are honest with us, but mostly, YOURSELF

I've just finished Day 20. I can't actually believe it. I'm feeling a bit emotional and proud and very grateful to this hornets nest of mad, fabulous women.

Just a few months ago even one day without alcohol seemed nigh on impossible. I used to try and have Monday-Wednesday AF and very seldom even managed Monday. And as for not drinking on a week-end, well death seemed an easier option.

So this is massive and I'm feeling very positive and very strong. Seriously, if I can do this, anyone can......

Morning all.

6 weeks today - woohoo! Got another social occasion on Saturday where everyone else will be drinking (my monthly girls night). I am driving as we are going to a friends who lives about 15 miles away so everyone is happy to be getting a lift and won't nag me .

I wish I could find a nice drink to replace booze. The fake wine was ok but dull after a while. The fact is it is not really normal to ingest so much fluid in such a short time but with booze it feels good. With anything else is tends to get too sweet to tolerate after the 3rd glass. So I will end up picking at the food instead. Pain in the arse.

Actually on Saturday I will be an eighth of the way through my booze free 2014! Good reason to celebrate :)

I am feeling now like I am past the feeling of needing a drink at all during the evening. It is just the drinking with friends thing that is hard.

Oh and I did have one fag on Saturday but I have only smoked 6 fags in 6 weeks so pretty damn close to giving up.

Morning babes, thank you so very much for the lovely warm welcome back, I can't believe I stayed away instead of asking for your help, I've had a horrific night, not only is my Crohn's giving me terrible pain but bad dreams and a painful headache confirm that the poison is leaving my body. I'm astounded at what I've done to myself AGAIN! My iPhone screen is still broken to I can't really NC as I can't see the screen properly but as I'm back to being productive I will get it fixed today and NC you lovely, generous, fabulous babes later on. So happy and relived to be back and sober xx

Bloody Hell, even intelligent men are thick! DH went out on family business this afternoon saying he would be back at about 8pm. I kinda knew he wouldn't be, but he he sent me a text 20 mins ago saying it would be more like 10.30. Now that's not a problem, as I said, I rather suspected this is how it would pan out, but I sent him a text asking why he only felt he could tell me that when he was 30 miles away (I'm a pussy cat, honest), and he just ignored it and sent me a jolly "I'm not acknowledging you text". So, this is me, sipping my minty, fizzy water and NOT watching Death in Paradise. SO THERE,
