Ive been online dating for a couple of months. In that time Ive chatted to all sorts of men. Some nutters, some weirdos and some really nice. Ive met 3 irl. The first i felt lived too far away, the second had a wonky eye i didnt see in his profile pic and the 3rd I met tonight. We have been chatting a while and had arrangedto meet next weekend for dinner. He booked a table in my favourite restaurant. However, today he asked if i was free tonight to meet so i was and met him for a light dinner. I met at his house (i did give all the details to my friend) and we drove in his posh car to the restaurant.
Ok...here it is....he is a lovely, attentive, tall, dark guy who fancied me. Trouble is i felt no sexual attraction or chemistry. Hes been textig me since i got home saying lovely things.
Do i go on Friday for the meal and see if i feel any different or do i let him down gently now? I dont want to hurt him as he is nice, hes just not for me despite looking perfect on paper.
Can you lovely mumsnetters give me some advice? Thanks in advance :0)

nkf - I don't go in for sparks either but obviously like the way the conversation pans out and whether we have things in common. I have just found through OD an intelligent, thoughtful, funny gentleman but after spending our first "sleep-over" last night found out he snores Shock One set of earplugs later he wondered why I didn't wake up when the called my name Grin

PipkinsPal · 01/01/2014 15:37

I didn't tell him of course. I'm too much of a lady.

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 01/01/2014 23:02

I worry about my snoring if i get to the sleepover stage!

Re the FB thing, would that mean you have their full name before meeting for a first date? I wouldn't normally ask and don't offer my last name either.

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 01/01/2014 23:53

Hansel...i Googled him with his first name as i know which town he lives and he has a very unusual job. I saw of pic of him in the local rag, got his name, fb...voila! Call me Miss Marple.
I did like what i saw. Its made me like him even more.

Re the Facebook thing...
I was contacted yesterday by someone out of the nuke who'd I'd chatted to a bit but due to work at time I didn't meet up with him.. Anyway.. He sent me a little happy new year message, how are things going.
I've literally just looked him up on fb (I just discovered he spelt his name with a P and is looked him up before with a V - which may be why nothing came up last time)

and he's bloody married!!!!!

It's defiantly him as pictures the same.. He was posting about his takeaway they'd just had and in between posting on fb was messaging me too.. Fucker. And they have a new born baby !! Men.

Alway research them in any way you can!!!
Rant over

Flora - Colombo has nothing on you!! Just remember though, they could be sussing you out too if you give them enough info to trace you...not sure I fancy that with some guy from a OD site that I never met. Course there are privacy setting on FB I know nothing to get too worried about and yes I agree, it's better to find out if someone is married by doing a little snooping, it's all so hard with the OD thing though with so many 'unknowns' beforehand.

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 00:24

He wont find anything on me! I use a different surname on FB due to the nature of my job and my privacy settings are high. I Googled me and nothing came up. Im boring me lol.
