Welcome to the Bus one and all! I'm Mouse, one of the Brave Babes :)

We have a new line that we're taking with us on every journey, thanks to one of our wonderful Babes, Curry -

Alcohol Fosters Inertia.

So when you're drinking excessively, nothing changes, or improves, the sharp edges of our lives just becomes that little bit less in focus, blurred and all you feel is numb. Then like shit (emotionally, as well as physically) if you're honest! Who wants that?

You are only ever better/pacified/happy whilst the alcohol is in your system. And that doesn't last........... it's not a cure, it's a quick fix. A sticking plaster.

So, if you think you're drinking too much, and want some friendly advice, or just to come and have a chat, get to know others who are just like you, who won't judge or criticise you, then hop on board! :)

We're a really mixed bunch and all at different stages of our journey to find sobriety or certainly drinking in a more controlled, less dangerous way.

OMG - can you ask your DD to get rid of some of the stuff - get the others to take left over drinks HOME WITH THEM!!! And not leave them there?

I know it's hard sweetie but if you are going to have anything tonight, please make it cake and not alcohol or, and this is a MASSIVE OR you absolutely cannot not do this tonight because you feel the need to join in and celebrate with her, toast her Birthday etc, then how about a spritzer? At the absolute LAST RESORT!!!

I know how hard it is when everyone around you is getting shit faced, and eventually, they'll all be going home and there will be booze left. You know that. So, you can do one of two things, what I said above, limit yourself massively with something weak, or get twated and hate yourself tomorrow....

Personally, I think that YOU are going to kick this fucker out into the stratosphere tonight lovely. I believe that YOU are going to kick the living shit out of the WW tonight, because you KNOW, you FEEL, you SEE the next day.

Faire yeah all opened but loads more kids justvarrived. Im hoping that they havent brought morecwith them and willvdeink whats there! Dd leaves In morning so im left on own to deal with whatevers left. Might have to close eyes and pour all left overs down sink!! Cake was amazing but I have high hopes theyvwill finish that and I can start tomorrow with healthy eating!! Fingers xrossed. I feel strong and almost happy just now-able to deal with things!! Sausages - welcome to the Bus lovely... you are in great hands here. I used to be a single parent and know how hard the nights are, watching the clock, waiting for permission to drink.... it sounds as though your DS is older.... and doesn't like you getting drunk on cheap cider?

I promise you that we will all help you in any way that we can to get through the coming days. Whatever it is that you need from this Bus, you can take, YOU CAN HAVE HELP!

This Bus has been here for 4 years.... it's seen love bloom and blossom, babies born, loss and tragedy hit hard BUT we've all stayed and become united... in times of need.

Just de-lurking briefly to say hi, shake my pom poms of encouragement to oldies and newbies alike - and I feel the need to say to you, in particular Mouse, that the work you do in keeping this bus on the road is fantastic. I will probably disappear again (can never think of anything interesting to say on a regular basis) but I do read often.

With 2 Fairy Godmothers how could I not succeed going close my eyes and pour it all out!

Hi sausage so glad you posted, you will find so much help and empathy here, this bus has helped me beyond belief and have been sober for over a month from a one and a half bottles a night for years. There's nothing you can tell us that we haven't heard or done ourselves so please stay close whether your drinking or not and join in to say "hello" whenever you want to!! so "hello" to you sausage (sounds a bit raunchy)xxxxx
