The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Off To Find The Summer Sun and Sobriety!

Hello, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to the Bus, take a seat and enjoy the ride. We're a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, those who are trying to give up for life, those who are giving up for a few hours because that's all that they can manage (which is fine!) or quitting just for today......

We don't wear Judgey Pants (they're far too last year darhling Wink) but we have hugs a plenty and tough love when it's needed. Which isn't often!

So, what have you got to lose? If you're reading this, you're thinking that you are no longer happy with the way you drink, which tells me that this is the Bus for you. :)

If you'd like to see where we've been so far and what we've been up to, take a peek HERE

And if you want to knnow why we're here in the first place, take a look at THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE :)

See you soon x

Strangely enough, the purple ones are the only ones I don't like Silver. Grin

Huge luck on Day 3 Isindie. Go girl, you can do it.

Blue Bloody well done for posting! You will get support, advice and a feeling that you aren't alone with your problem here. Take a seat - either in the Bus or the Side Car and stay with us a while.

Red One spritzer is not a failure - it's 'normal people' consumption. Don't let it drag you into throwing your arms in the air and carrying on with more. Smile

Annie My XP would buy me wine - a lot. We had huge problems and if he could get me 'merry', I would be less likely to bring up finances and other problems. I went 9 weeks with no alcohol (and no Bus, no meds, no support) and felt great - then he brought home two, TWO bottles of white wine to congratulate me. Hmmm. Other people have reasons where they would like us to drink. It's hard to refuse in the face of that but, if like me, you are not like others and just one drink is never enough, we have to be strong and take the responsibility back. I cannot drink like others - it always leads to excess. Sad

Welcome Blue You are in a good place to write out all the feelings that 'make' you drink and sort out each of them, one at a time.

Ma best of luck on Day 2 today. You've done great to get back on the bus. Thought of one of your bits of advice today when DD was being a totaly moo! Ignore, ignore, ignore! Seething inside but smiling on the outside.

Tango How did today go?

Lol Baby! Know what your mean about not being sure if you got smiled at by DD! Hugs.

Hi to Green, Joey, Faire, Baby, Pink and Mouse and a special hug for Nemo - brave boy!!

Great news for all on day one, two or even three! Pom pom shaking for you all. x

Anneisnotmyname · 03/09/2013 20:58

Evening all, just quickly checking in, have both dds screaming in the back ground. Day 3 nearly done but it's been testing again. Both dds are so badly behaved at the moment - think they need to be back at school - that I'd defintely be reaching for the bottle tonight if I had one. But I haven't and I won't let myself go and buy one. Plus I probably will have a drink tomorrow night for dds birthday so I keep telling myself that it should be no real hardship to wait until then Hmm

Purple I think your ex sounds very similar to dh. He buys me wine to shut me up alot of the time I'm sure. Often he will stonewall me during an argument hoping that as the wine takes effect I will taper off. Which alot of the time I do. He's even cut me off mid row, when he's in the wrong, with the words 'shall I get wine'. I know what he's doing yet usually I let him Confused

Welcome Blue, and well done Red on stopping after just one spritzer :)
Not sure what the thing is about the opal fruits but I love the green ones!

PurpleWolfe · 03/09/2013 21:13

Annie Doing totally the right thing in telling yourself you can wait until tomorrow! Get through tonight and deal with tomorrow - tomorrow! Hope your DD's have settled down. My DD was horrid today. Just a quick moan. Had a bowl of cereal, couldn't be bothered to take the milk back to the kitchen so put the carton, sideways, on the dining room chair next to her - out of friggin' sight!! 3ish hours later I happen to walk round the table to find copious amounts of milk have leaked out on to the chair and on to the carpet!! "Soreeeeee!", she says!! Ffs! She's 12 - not 2! Grrrrrrr

Anyway, maybe these men think we are easier to handle with a bit of alcohol inside us?! I know that, once merry, the 'conversations' about the council tax bill, mortgage arrears and bailiffs visit were further from my mind after a few large glasses of wine. Almost like a trip away from the stark present.

See Silver you are the odd one not liking green Opal Fruits! Grin

Had a crap day - feeling crap - GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
That is all !

Mouseface · 03/09/2013 21:59

Evening, tis me, Mouse

Just very quickly (I will post and read back tomorrow) - today was Nemo's very first day at Big School. Neither of us cried, I collected him at 1pm and he's already asked if he can stay all day so I have to check they have the cover as we all thought he'd only want to stay half days.

It's a HUGE result, achievement, milestone, step, leap, JUMP infact!

I love him to the ends of the earth and back again. He has so beaten his demons today. I adore him for that. No tears at all, before or after school.... just smiles, smiles and more smiles.

I'll pop a picture on my profile of him in a while so you can all have a peek at him. And yes, I am uber proud mummy today! Grin

See you all tomorrow.

Purple - you are so lovely, thank you for your kind words xxx

jango36 · 03/09/2013 22:14

AHHHHH, Have failed tonight ;((( could actually cry.
had some larger. About five units.
The trigger was yet again my nsdp being a top class twat as always Angry He knows I want to split he doesnt but not cos he cant bear to lose me just doesnt want dd to go. Have discussed the split custody stuff with him but he is putting every bloody barrier in my way.
What a situation :(
Well done to those who are winning though :)

LRDMaguliYaPomochTebeSRaboti · 03/09/2013 22:16

Just being metaphorical about Gerald, faire.

I'm currently rebuilding my stress levels after DH gave me the fright of my life by looming up at the window and peering over the top of the shutters when I came out of the shower just now (he's been out, the house was locked up, we previously had a creepy burglar-type do the same). Hmm Not thrilled.

Roll on tomorrow.

Mouseface · 03/09/2013 22:16

Thank you all. I'll scroll back and introduce myself to the lovely new Babes tomorrow.

Night all xxx

Fairenuff · 03/09/2013 22:21

LRD the whole bus is metaphorical!! Grin

We have a metaphorical sidecar, a metaphorical roofrack, a metaphorical squid, a metaphorical dog and metaphorical opal fruits.

Now name that damn horse!!! (Does he live in the boot, or do we have a trailer?)

< stamps foot >

Mouse Oi, do you mind. If that wasn't metaphorically done, I would be well miffed Grin

Fairenuff · 03/09/2013 22:23

Jango (and anyone else that's up for it) mine and Purples 7 week healthy eating/more exercise starts tomorrow if you want to join? No drinking on Day 1. That's the only rule.

Blueshade · 03/09/2013 22:27

Thanks all. DH away, DS number two only just gone down - school anxiety. Not my favourite time of year at all, first depression hit aged 16 in the September of that year. Recall feeling crap this time last year too. I had two beers tonight. Help me out with ideas as to how to get myself to want to stop/reduce for my own sake, rather than out of feeling I ought to for others' sake?
Do you all find life really, really hard too?

On a lighter note, cheddar and the green ones all super good with me. Oh, and pumpkin seed crackers - great.
