Welcome to the Bus, take a seat and enjoy the ride. We're a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, those who are trying to give up for life, those who are giving up for a few hours because that's all that they can manage (which is fine!) or quitting just for today......

We don't wear Judgey Pants (they're far too last year darhling ) but we have hugs a plenty and tough love when it's needed. Which isn't often!

So, what have you got to lose? If you're reading this, you're thinking that you are no longer happy with the way you drink, which tells me that this is the Bus for you. :)

not quite MIA Ma but in someway I wish I was! Composed a long post in my head last last night, but didn't have time to do the real thing.
Yeaterday, I started at my new job, first time full-time for 25 years!, Today we moved DC1 into his flat with his lovely GF, involving me and Dc going by train, because the car was too full!
Tomorrow, we take DC2back to uni, 4 and a half hours away, then back, I am so shattered, and have resorted to the wine!
Bad me!!

Evening all, again I'm sorry for not having much too contribute, still not 100% and relieved I'm not drinking (imagine appreciating a virus to keep me off the sauce, that really is sick) I just want to tell inside I'm also your friend and have great admiration for the help you've given all of us, let us help you babe, the ww may have won the battle but not the war, I too keep failing but as long as we keep trying, that's what counts. Drinking Brave Babes.......... I'll have bacon and sausages, with eggs, on the go in the morning, coffee, teas and water. Plus pain killers for the sore heads. Snuggly fleeces, and soothing music. I know it's pacifying.... but sometimes needs must.

Jango - I'll map read, you drive? And when you need to nap, I'll take a shift if you like? I've got super soft back cushions for us both and a neck masseur coming in to make sure we're okay...

Isinde I come on and have a whine and a moan when I get scared avout how much I'm drinking. Then I declare I'm going to try and I might get to day 2 or something then I disappear again because I'm drinking. In the meantime I offer no support to anyone else because I literally have nothing to give,.

But I lurk and I read and I get inspired then I drink agin

Tanggo can you make the decision NOW not to drink today.

Then put it to bed - decision made so no endless deliberating and making deals with yourself (if I drink today I won't tomorrow, if I just have one drink that will be ok - ad infinitum)

Make sure you have soft drinks in that you like, and keep your blood sugar levels up because when they drop, the cravings will kick in, and that is when you will be most susceptible to picking up

And you know what - you can always have a drink tomorrow if you want to. It's only 18 or so hours.... not so long and you will be asleep for at least 6 of them

Tang I have drank since very very young too, there was always drink in the house and it was a way of being close to my dad (alcoholic) if you drank with him, then he might be nice to you.

I can't possibly catch up on all the posts in the brief moments I have before my family come downstairs ( can hear they're awake) but wonderful supportive posts last night and I can relate to feeling scared so much. I have been terrified at time of leaving my family due to my own selfish and out of control behaviour truly an awful feeling.

Has anyone heard from Lonnika? Lonnie where are you? If you are reading please come back and post, please. If only to allow me to apologise for any part I may have had in upsetting you. I visualise the bus a lot espec on difficult days and I always picture you sitting with me! There is an empty space now.

silver I have just been having that decision with myself at 7.00 am " it's his birthday" is of course a great reason to drink

Can I fast forward and just skip today please? ... I really don't want to face today we always drink on a birthday.

Decision made then " I will not be drinking today" just for today of course thank you silver
