oi sleepaholics and rubbish insomniacs, anyone around tonight?

we are still up with itchyscratchy dd. and no sign of things changing...the one time I've forgotten to give her antihistamine first thing in the morning since April, and she' s covered an a rash. sigh. Have given her antihistamine now but stable door and bolting horse I fear Hmm all hot and itchy.
drCafe and LumpyMini any more suggestions? contemplated double antihistamine (bad mother alert) have done cool bath of just water and no soap, E45, don't think oats any use for this. double sigh. calpol to knock the bugger out? Confused

MrsBottesini · 07/08/2013 23:47

new Wine discovered. red wine and indian tonic water. lush. (the drink, not me)
staying up with dd has its good points.

themidwife · 08/08/2013 04:58

Hi Mrs! Red wine & tonic sounds yum! Will try it!

Have you tried bathing her in bicarbonate of soda? Chuck half a tub into a cool bath. (For serious rashes/spots like chicken pox make a paste with the rest & apply to spots afterwards too)

I think that will take the itch away & calm things down a lot.

Hope she let you sleep! Smile

Minimammoth · 08/08/2013 07:03

Sorry not to be around Mrs. How old is your dd? I find that sometimes taking pain killers helps. It maybe just psychological but I find drinking calming tea such as chamomile or one of the night time ones helps. My GP has said take another antiH if its bad but I am nt sure how this would be for a child. You could ask your GP for a different anti H. I have one of the old fashioned ones that seems to act quicker but is v. Drowsy making , I only take this if I am bad at night. The bicarbonate bath sound a good idea.

MrsBottesini · 08/08/2013 10:31

hehe thanks ladies. she gave in eventually, helped by the calpol fairy and a new pink crop top Hmm which kept her cool. More antiH this morning which should see it off. And no contact with grass... (ds1 mowed the lawn yesterday and we all did weeding, durr) Couldn't she have chosen something less common than sodding grass to be allergic to Confused

MrsBottesini · 08/08/2013 10:33

ps putting the bicarb bath idea in my collection of allergy symtom remedies. ta muchly.

themidwife · 08/08/2013 10:33

I'm allergic to grass & hay so I feel her pain! Sad

Minimammoth · 08/08/2013 21:57
