Yes I signed the petition & shared it on Facebook Claire! Good luck with it!

themidwife · 13/05/2013 07:10

Am, have just read your thread. I'm so so sorry. The phrase from that song everybody hurts by REM keeps going through my head.
"Hold on, just hold on" until something changes or improves. Whereabouts are you? Thanks

Minimammoth · 13/05/2013 16:57

It's all a bit fraught here. FIL has fallen and broken hip. He's 95. Sad
Cat is def. worse.
Sorry we have lost Bears.
Thinking of you AFCSNWO, Flowers don't know how else to help.

themidwife · 13/05/2013 17:37

Hugs Mini!! ThanksThanks

SummerDad · 13/05/2013 19:41

I would also like to say hugs to Mini but that's not appropriate I guess Grin

On a serious note though, I wish every one here the best Smile

Jynier, looks like my private messaging is not working or may be they have disabled it, I would be surprised if that's the case though. I don't think I have stalked many women here Grin.

Can someone please volunteer to check if my pm is working? Smile

Minimammoth · 13/05/2013 19:55

Hugs gratefully received dadSmile and Midwife. I have been trying to sort out work cover so that we old have a few days hols at a friends caravan, but not sure whether that will happen now. Ah well, I am trusting that all will somehow work out. Still tired here but sleep somehow not refreshing. Am trying a nightcap again tonight.

themidwife · 13/05/2013 20:09

Hope the single malt helps Mini! if only I still had a snifter of that Port Ellen left you would be welcome!

I am just about to install my Paul McKenna hypnotic gastric band! I've read the book, watched the havening DVD, just about to listen to the 2 CDs. Have been emotionally eating & getting bigger - time to take control!!!
Wish me luck!

Minimammoth · 13/05/2013 20:12

Go midwife go. Keep us posted. I would love to lose a stone.

SummerDad · 13/05/2013 20:15

Hi Mini just sent you a pm to test my pm working, could you please reply if you get this.

Minimammoth · 13/05/2013 20:52

I rooted in the cupboard and found the dregs of a Laphroaig. Well you just have to finish the bottle it's tidier.

Well it's "in" - oooo errrr!

It was weird actually - during the trance part of the cd when the hypnotic band was being fitted around my stomach I actually felt a physical tightening!

themidwife · 13/05/2013 21:05

Yes I guess - although I must admit the only hypno births I've attended haven't really worked for the women as well as they'd hoped but I think that's because they were first timers & didn't really know what they were up against in terms of what contractions really feel like perhaps?

Minimammoth · 13/05/2013 21:14

Woooo Midwifikins..... Weight falling off.
HarrietShock still it must be good for the digestion, or is that charcoal?

Yes the women are told that they will have "surges" not painful contractions & when they get into established labour they have quite a shock Shock They have all said to me afterwards - bollox to that it
f-ing hurts!
Being open minded, having confidence that your body is designed to do it & that you can cope with anything with the support of birth partners & an encouraging midwife & that there is pain relief if you need it is the best approach I reckon!

jynier · 13/05/2013 22:17
