mini's spidey senses are right I have been underneath books etc *waves arm under pile but also spending time with DS (3) sans internet

kitty- 16 weeks! I lived with a Jamaican family for a while (maybe 4-5 months) in Birmingham when I was in primary school. I have a very odd family history Grin wayward mother, I was living with another relative then also wayward actor thus left at a clown's house with his mum (he was professional clown), all his family. was amazing food.

themidwife! I need a detox diet. I was planning on starting on 1 July (6 months in to the year...) as have expanded somewhat with my exam munchies, but so far no detoxing has occurred.

stars!! job!!! well done!!!!! :) re DD it's difficult, find one that won't make her repeat the year, as at her age that will be a significant time, and then reassess if it's right.

Bluey - orthopaedic surgery IS SO MUCH FUN --yanks out power drills, pulls down visor and saws off limbs... did I link ? I love it because it is just so accurate Grin

themidwife · 05/07/2013 07:22

starsandunicorns · 05/07/2013 07:30

Cafe i agree ref not repeating the yr the school shes visting on monday did mention it would be harder for her to redo it though with that one she would need to get the train as its easier than 2 long bus journeys.

She raids the kitchen as she knows she doesnt have to ask for food she came into the lounge about 9pm with breadsticks icecream and a apple.

Got a feeling our food bill is going to be massive !!!

Her bedroom has a floor drob she trod on her straighters plug twice last night so she must be feeling at home she said she will be bored at the weelend so said she can start painting her bedrroms walls we going turn one wall into a blackboard with that paint so she can write qutoes and draw

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 05/07/2013 13:25

Floordrobe Grin Grin Grin. Cracking Grin

BlueyDragon · 05/07/2013 21:08

I'm doing ok, thanks themidwife. This week at work has been better than last, fatigue-wise anyway (there's a whole host of other stuff going on that I have to deal with, but not cancer-related and not new either!).

cafe that made me chuckle.

kitty, I forgot to tell you about the Marcus Wareing experience! It was fabulous!!! 8 courses that became 9 when they gave us an extra course because they served DH with something we'd told them he couldn't eat. And a free glass of champagne. And a tour of the kitchen (no Marcus but lovely, calm, quiet staff). All the food was amazing and I couldn't really describe it other than the way it was in the menu. Lovely ingredients beautifully cooked. One sad moment when DH told me that DD had actually asked, "Is Mummy going to die?" (I didn't know before), so my dessert had a few tears to wash it down. But otherwise a fab meal and a really nice weekend.

MrsShrek3 · 06/07/2013 22:04

themidwife · 07/07/2013 09:08

Yes mucho water & mucho ibuprofen! It was good though - kids had a great time! £4 for unlimited slides down the massive inflatable slide all day, face paints, hair braids, candy floss, a big yellow smiley face balloon & chips! Result! We sat in deck chairs dispensing cash like sunburnt beery Pharos! Grin

cafecito · 07/07/2013 20:46

excellent image themidwife Grin

Wimbledon, anyone?

I saw bits of it (the important bits) on a screen in central London,,, after receiving a text from a friend who had managed to blag a ticket for today with no notice from his employer Shock jealous much

Bluey!! Amazing meal but wow I cannot imagine the range of emotions there, you've been through so so much. DS cross with me for not being with him all the time (his favourite phrase of the week 'I am cross with mummy because she drove away') made me contemplate my own mortality a bit, and his reactions etc, can't imagine being in a position requiring that. Thanks

sorry gone all sniffly, think it's the vino

cafecito · 07/07/2013 20:47

MrsShrek how are you? How is DH?

How is the beer?

Hope everyone had lovely sunny days. Off to tidy up my own floordrobe

MrsShrek3 · 07/07/2013 22:57

dh struggling tbh. we have had a nice weekend away and got back an hour ago, he was going to ring his mum to tell her about it Sad Sad tears all round, it's hard innit. First thing we have done since she died.
A year tomorrow since his dad died too. Another challenge. sorry I'm not a miserable bugger really. Honestly.

I'm going to sit with dh and tje beer for a bit, see ya later.

Minimammoth · 08/07/2013 08:25

Mornin all. I am still as white as a Lily, been indoors all weekendSad am trying to have a day off today.

Waves to all hugs to those who need one

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 09/07/2013 02:42

Hi all, it's blickin hot in kittycity here too. I hate it to be honest.

Littlekiitty has chickenpox Sad It's just coming out so we've all the horrors to go through yet. Any tips? She also has her first ever nappy rash, probably because of the sweaty heat do you think? Not bad for 20 months I suppose.

I'm not sure if I've had the pox so I've had a blood test and am waiting for the results. Calling midwife and doc ......I'm trying not to google the worst case scenario for the Christmas pudding.

She hasn't been sleeping in the day at all and at night only on my lap. As a consequence I'm exhausted and a bit ratty because of the heat

bluey your meal sounds amazing but also very heart wrenching. I can't imagine what you have all been through and how you have had to handle your children. I get the feeling they are very young but I don't know how old.

I'm still none the wiser about the squirrel, buttermilk, carraway Grin

I've just woken from a nightmare about all the windows and doors being open an people coming for littlekitty Sad Well, an hour ago I did, I've been trying to settle this little sausage since but no dice. There is cigarette smoke wafting in from the neighbour's garden too but I can't move. I'm sick of not being able to have her window open. Can't wait to move. You'd think we would be safe in the middle of the night, wouldn't you?

Also, my phone has totally died so I'll be off-line for a bit while it gets repaired or replaced. I'm on my husband's at the moment. No internet at home otherwise.

Just when i could do with some support too Sad

Mrs and stars love and strength to you and your loved ones.

cafe how goes the exam Hell?

mini, how could I forget your lumpy lovliness? How are your bumps?

OP posts:
MrsShrek3 · 09/07/2013 05:10

Hi Kitty (was going to say hello kitty Grin Wink ) aqueous calamine for littlekitty and antihistamine to reduce the itchies. The entire family had Pox whilst I was pg with dd, including ds1&2, dh, mil, the lot. No risk to unborn dd, as I'd had had it mildly at 10yo but apparently that's enough, no concerns. I was 20wks iirc. What a mare for you thoSad

I've coughed myself awake Hmm bloody hayfever. mucho wheezing in this house. two asthmatic dc are powered by ventolin atm, dh wheezing like a fifty a day smoker (he's never smoked btw) and I pretty well have my bottle of antihistamine and a straw. Some bleeping cats are having a very loud scrap outside in the road. Oh, and there appears to be a seagull invasion - wtf we are best part of 20 miles from any sea Hmm

starsandunicorns · 09/07/2013 06:41

Aww poor little kitty starlet had them when she was two had to pour not dab on caloime lotion on her she was covered she had a ear infection thst the same time that was a fun week weak smile hope she gets well soon

Stuipd angency phoned dp at 1:30 am asking him to work at 4am he said yes 3:15 am phoned again to cancel i have had 3 hours max of sleep and that yellow circle in the sky is shinning heat down already i want rain

starsandunicorns · 09/07/2013 06:43

Mrs sherk we seagulls too sigh noisy feckers grrr i swap your wheezing for snoring hope you feel better v soon

themidwife · 09/07/2013 07:34

On my way to city hospital to teach for 11 hours but v v quick check in to say (((hugs))) everyone esp littlebittykitty - TOP TIP - bicarbonate of soda - half a tub in a cool bath & soak her in it, then make a paste with the rest & smear it on the spots. Works a dream. I'll check back tonight ThanksThanksThanks

Minimammoth · 09/07/2013 08:12

Hi everyone. Chicken pox is grooo. I had it when I was 15 and had my first boyfriend, needless to say it did not last past him visiting me with me covered in calamine, spots and greasy hair scraped back so as not to irritate. Grin
Marathon teaching Midwife. Respect.
Am not good in heat, Stars and Shrekky, antihystemine cocktails all round then. Am also covered in factor 75. Dark glasses and floppy sunhat.
