I have twins. They were2 months prem so v.small, easy births in one way but upside down and back to front, whisked away immediately to IC. Not enough time for meds.
With my DD1 though I was told to 'shut up' by midwife as I was disturbing other mums in labour. < I am the quietest person ever> she was evil.

themidwife · 15/05/2013 08:18

Ha ha stars at the eyes! Even I find that freaky when the head is out & the baby is staring at you as if to say - who the hell are you?! GrinGrinGrin

This will really freak you out - I once examined someone & felt something nobbly on top of the head, thought fuck fuck fuck it's the cord until it held my finger! Weird feeling!!

Minimammoth · 15/05/2013 08:25

Woah! What a weird thing midwife. You must have a few tales to tell. I was with my DD1 at my DGCs births, such a privilege . Plus 2 friends who also invited my to be birth partners < proud badge> one was a home birth with fab midwife, we were all on the floor and friend delivered kneeling.

themidwife · 15/05/2013 18:52

A food night!! Yay.
I have been to London today,So am knackered.
News is not good for FIL, he may be having his op tomorrow but will not be resuscitated if things go awry. My DH is going to try to speak to him tomorrow beforehand < to say his bit and maybe goodbyeSad>. I am just trusting that things will get sorted. MIL is beyond bewildered and keeps saying, 'I am missing someone'Sad

Minimammoth · 15/05/2013 22:59

I thought I might see dr cafe in London. Sashaying in those sparkly hot pants with the eyelashes. But no.

starsandunicorns · 15/05/2013 23:12

Yes harriet i get to spend a whole week with her Smile i know shes been down lately and she asked if we could have some alone time to rebond.

Have a feeling dafty dog will be having lots of walks on the beach may even buy a little net so can go rock pooling. Need to buy wellies though and armbands for the dog incase of rain

starsandunicorns · 15/05/2013 23:14

Wellies for me armbands for the dog though thinking about it bright pink wellies for the dog would match her pink waterproof coat

Minimammoth · 15/05/2013 23:17

Stars I immediately saw dog in wellies. Maybe you should have matching ones. How lovely for you to spend time with DD. I love having mine all to myself.

starsandunicorns · 15/05/2013 23:21

Grin mini. Though dog cant do red wellies as they could clash with her ginger hair.

Minimammoth · 15/05/2013 23:32

He/ she must have some. It will preserve the manicure.

Minimammoth · 15/05/2013 23:33

Or is that paw icure?

jynier · 16/05/2013 00:42

Hi! Hope that you are all ok!

Harriet - Thank you for your very kind post at 07:43:36.

It is all so weird! Am absolutely exhilarated that I will be seeing my GD2 for the first time at the weekend (she is now over a year old) but heartbroken that my little bro will not be here. He is now a posthumous grandfather; I won't visit his family (although I adore them all) as I know that I will upset them greatly through constant crying.

Have any of you on here lost a beloved younger sibling? How do you cope?

jynier · 16/05/2013 02:11

Oh, well! Par for the mumsnet course!

BlueyDragon · 16/05/2013 02:21

I didn't really get the urge to push either, Harriet, it was weird especially after lots of people had told me it would be so strong. A bit more there for DS but not much. They were just comfy in there, clearly!

Oh jynier, I have no idea how I would cope if I lost either of my DBs. We don't see each other much because of distance and work patterns (one is a police officer, the other lives 250 miles away) but we lean on each other. I think if you lose someone close to you there's always a hole in your life that is never filled, always an empty chair at the table, and the only thing you can do that helps is accept that the chair is empty but love the chance you had to have that person in your life.

Good news today: the teeny tiny lump the surgeon biopsied when he went back to check on the area they couldn't see on the scan is nothing to worry about. Finally the complete All Clear!

jynier · 16/05/2013 03:06

Bluey - Tx for your very kind post and many, many congratulations on the final All Clear! Yay! xxx
