KinNora · 02/05/2013 20:02

So I'm assuming that I have to be the one to make the joke about Dutchie's chopper then ? It's a good job I have no shame.

OWW I'm so glad Indie's not showing twat tendencies, the thread commands him to be a good un.

Pomegranatenoir · 02/05/2013 20:07

Loving my new job! Think I am going to be very happy!!

Yay for dutchie and jules, oww and indie and everyone else that has found some success in od.

Pof is rubbish at the mo. Think I need to meet a real life man

KinNora · 02/05/2013 20:19

That's brilliant news, Pom - any chance of meeting a fabulous time through work ?

KinNora · 02/05/2013 20:20

Fabulous man obvs.

Snapespeare · 02/05/2013 20:23

Whooooshthread!

secret I get really arsey about the supposition that the children of single parent families are automatically categorised as failures. Huge big high-Five-fist-bump for you, because I totally believe that an absent parent has a far less negative effect than parents at war. You are doing everything right. We have so few single parent role models because government, academics and media conspire to tell us we are nothing without coupledom. You're fab, so are your kids. :-)

Indie-yay!

Dutch-yay!

Nameless calls me 'lovely' it is my favourite word. Blush

OhWesternWind · 02/05/2013 20:24

I am trying not to count my chickens or get over-invested or too excited or anything like that about Indie. It's really early days and I don't want to get my hopes up in case it all goes wrong. But it all seems so easy and stress-free, he seems very calm about most things, no bile and rancour (or even much talk) about his ex, copes with a job, house, children etc with no drama and crises. It's very refreshing to be around someone like this and I'm not used to it.

Have been having interesting (well, bloody scary actually) thoughts about how similar my mum and Titto are and how probably I was conditioned to expect and put up with all the EA stuff because I had/still have a lot if the same from my mum. Bit of a revelation to me actually, probably blindingly obvious to anyone else.

Pomegranatenoir · 02/05/2013 20:43

kin loads of men where I work but I am part of management team so don't think it would be wholly approproate for me to find a man there. Saw quite a few hotties though!!!

Think the new job is going to keep me very busy and massively entertained!!

OhWesternWind · 02/05/2013 20:50

Sounds like a great job then Pom. Are you enjoying it so far?

HeyBeenTryingToMeetYou · 02/05/2013 20:55

Sounds brilliant Pom, mmm management hotties....

It's good to have sudden realisations about big stuff like that OWW Smile

I couldn't agree with you more snape.

Pomegranatenoir · 02/05/2013 20:57

Had a really interesting couple of days oww. Different pace to what I am used to but feel like I could really make a difference so it's all good. I am well up for the challenge but ridiculously tired. Brain overload!!!

ike1 · 02/05/2013 23:17

Mr Ruse did get back to me so he's not worried about flakiness! Now lets see what he thinks about me having kids....

ike1 · 02/05/2013 23:20

Oh I tracked down some of his sculptures earlier really amazing pieces I was very impressed..

Flipper924 · 02/05/2013 23:27

Evening, dear Thread.

I won't stop to chat, as it's past my bedtime, but I will say how lovely it is to hear of lovely things happening to you all, my lovelies.

I do tend to overuse it.

OWW, it is weird to suddenly learn new things about yourself, but when things fall into place, life makes so much more sense.

Envy at Jules and her description of Dutchy getting his chopper out (I sniggered at your joke, Nora).

Ike, I've missed your DJing recently. Glad you made a come back.

ike1 · 02/05/2013 23:32

Thanks Flip...yep the pissed DJ made a 3am return....

KinNora · 03/05/2013 06:45

Morning everyone,

Ike that explains the welding, eh ?

Kirsty hope it all went well last night.

Voice you randomly popped into my head this morning, I hope things are improving a little for you at the moment.

Have a fantastic day everyone.

lubeybooby · 03/05/2013 08:32

Morning all, Shock at the goings on here soon as I take my eye off the place! Flippin eck Juliette :o WOW wow wow wow.

There's something in the air again in Lubeville and I seem to have more possibles than I know what to do with or have time for. Typical. I just got asked out yesterday, (RL again! Shock ) and he is lovely, but I had to ask for his patience as I haven't got a spare minute til June. he accepted, thankfully.

Although given that last time this happened they all one by one went tits up one way or another, i expect that will happen again :o Hmm

Secretservice · 03/05/2013 10:30

Snape Flowers

I wish I could take the credit, but they all have innate talents that have nothing to do with me. I probably draw like Rooney and kick a ball like Grayson Perry (apologies if they do in fact share the same talents!)

And if I take credit for their all round politeness and consideration - in the company of non-family anyway! - does that mean I also share the blame for DD2's mini breakdown? I feel safer accepting no credit and swerving the blame Blush

juliette Envy and Grin

Feeling a bit blergh, today, dating wise. Must have sent close on 10 messages over the past few days. Not a single reply, but all have checked my profile. Not great for one's self-esteem!

KirstyWirsty · 03/05/2013 10:30

I had a lovely night with the lovely Kiltykilty .. He picked me up from work .. Had frantic fully clothed sex when we got in my flat .. Some slightly less clothed sex .. Dinner drinks and a blether more lovely sex and then this morning he dropped me back at work .. What wonderful service!!

Seeing him again a week on Saturday .. I had hoped for tomorrow but he's got plans

I use lol, too many exclamation marks and lovely lots .. But I am in good company

Morning all!!! Grin

Snapespeare · 03/05/2013 11:41

ike where is ruse based? I dated a sculptor once, didn't end well Hmm fuck and run hoping that in the spirit of that mad, sour, scouser that cropped up the other week, it isn't the same bloke...

KinNora · 03/05/2013 11:43

Blimey, I'd be going exclamation mark crazy too if I'd had a night like that Kirsty. Way to go Kilty.

How delightful to see you Lubes and lovely to hear that you've got so many blokes lined up, I'm not at all surprised at all how popular you are, how are you going to fit them all in ?

KinNora · 03/05/2013 11:45

If you'll forgive me interjecting on Ike' s behalf - Ruse is in Bristol, I think.

Snapespeare · 03/05/2013 11:50

because i wouldn't wish the tosser on my worst enemy, let alone a thread- sister. :)

Bant · 03/05/2013 11:51

Morning everyone.

I've got a date set up next Tuesday with someone who if she looks like her 4th photo, it might be okay. If she looks like her 2nd photo, it probably won't.

I know I've given the advice before to 'always trust the worst photo' but the women who actually responded to me in Hungaria are generally really monosyllabic and fairly boring, this one can at least carry a conversation.
So, if she's just not photogenic but better in person, we'll see how we get on.

Having said that, now I'm back in England for a few days I thought I'd take a look at people in my area who signed up in the last couple of months. And there are several - one of whom winked at me within two minutes of me looking at her profile - so I mailed her. We'll see how that goes. I'm not holding my breath

Bant · 03/05/2013 12:11

Oh I appear to have a coffee date with a girl I'll call Merlot. She asked me after one email. Very forward of her :)

She also asked if I want a relationship or casual in her first mail, which is very up-front, although it helps her weed through the dross I suppose. Then her second mail asked me if I want more kids. Because she wants them (she's 32)

Merlot seems very upfront about things. Almost businesslike. Not sure if I like that, but we'll see.
