well, speaking of which, my squatters have turned next door into an enormous club and are charging loads of money on the door Confused

I have been a bit down in the dumps as ex crazy P is really getting to me, to the point where I am very very much behind on work and tomorrow morning have a 7.30am starting shift... and no doctorly clothes that fit me any more, blabla

on the plus side, nicer weather now!

have lots of peripheral masters work to do over the summer, and have DS full time as not in childcare then at all and living with me

SummerDad · 17/04/2013 00:35

Hi, everyone!

cafe - think that it is the most wonderful idea to take your DS to Paris in the summer!!! V. sorry to hear about all of the other probs ... !

Hope that everyone else is feeling good tonight!

Listened to the prog on R4 this evening about the Liverpool Care Pathway; had the most extraordinary reaction a few minutes in - swift headache and wanted to throw up! I am not a migraine sufferer so think that it was all to do with my beloved younger bro.

Had to go outside for air; fortunately, the night sky is beautiful tonight so felt better after a short while.

V. excited about kitty's baby! He/she will have so many unseen people taking an interest and sending love from this thread!!!!

SummerDad · 17/04/2013 01:27

Hi, again, Dad!

Should have replied to mini's kind comments! Will do it now!

Thanks, mini. I really do appreciate my surroundings; they're absolutely delightful, especially as Spring has finally arrived here in CG! Village is beautiful during the day and we have the extra advantage of no light pollution at night so we can see all the stars and constellations.

Have been trying to cope (unsuccessfully) with the losses and anniversaries. Have no idea how I would have managed if SD had not started this thread; it has been a tremendous help! I hate the grief threads (e.g. "Gone Too Soon"). People post pics of their loved ones in their coffins, FFS!

Am not completely self-obsessed with grief as there are so many things happening here; I have friends and am involved with village life (actually find this quite draining sometimes as friends are always asking me to do things!) and darling GCs. It is coming back to an empty house which makes the nights so difficult!

SummerDad · 17/04/2013 02:22

jynier, being self obsessed with grief as you describe is what happens to a lot of people so you are not the only one who goes through this. Living on your own could be such a draining experience when you are going through a lot. Keep sharing with us here hopefully we would be up and around when you need any of us.

Evening all, anyone around?

I've got an interview in the morning and can't sodding sleep Angry

So my interview will go either one of two ways - I'll stare vacantly, silently willing my brain to engage and answer the bloody questions.
Or
My mouth will go into overdrive and I'll 'over' answer.

Also have my inconsiderate Ex ringing every 30 mins for the last 2 hours -so good job I wasn't sleeping (prick!!) Angry Angry

This is turning out to be a longggg night Hmm

themidwife · 17/04/2013 02:35

Another home birth after a full day's work. Been at work from 8am to 2am. No lunch, no dinner, no funny.
Need codeine, ice cream, anything really! Sad

SummerDad · 17/04/2013 02:37

welcome to the thread dondon33. I know exactly what you mean, I never managed to have a night's sleep before any of my interviews ever most of the times, adrenaline seems to do the trick so I am sure you will be fine Grin

OP posts:
SummerDad · 17/04/2013 02:38

as far as long night is concerned, don't worry, you will have the company of the night owls scattered all over the county hehehe.

jynier · 17/04/2013 02:42

Aaw, poor you midwife. You have to appreciate how much you are loved by the mums for whom you care! It's shocking that you work such long hours, though! Try and have a good night's sleep! Would a large G & T help you to unwind?

SummerDad · 17/04/2013 02:42

midwife which one you fancy more icecream or codeine I have loads of both Wink poor you, you need something more than ice cream or codeine I guess.

themidwife · 17/04/2013 02:50

Ugghhhh - have had ibuprofen for my backache & midwife's knee!

Ugghhhh - have had ibuprofen for my backache & midwife's knee!

themidwife · 17/04/2013 02:51

Can't have large G&T or vat of wine am on call until 0830!!!

jynier · 17/04/2013 03:09

dondon33 - Good luck for the interview!

themidwife - How are these working hours allowed? Seems wrong to me!

dondon33 · 17/04/2013 03:27

Thanks for the welcome all.

midwife - you deserve something more than ice cream but I hope, at least, you have some of the luxury variety after those hours put in.

summer were you successful after the 'no sleep the night before' interviews? :)

I hate feeling like a zombie - but at least my Interview is early so it'll be over and done with before total zombie effect kicks in sometime in the afternoon.

I already know what it entails and as it's for a Call centre, I can only thank my lucky stars that it's NOT like the usual processes of behavioral observation, dicking around in role plays, scenario's and competency assessment.

It's a group tour, a listen in to the calls, a group speech by the interviewer then the 1 to 1 part - all within 90 mins, so I should survive :)

jynier · 17/04/2013 05:15

I'm listening to the dawn chorus; it's wonderful!!!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 17/04/2013 06:25
