Thanks 1step I am new to the thread as well. I don't know if I can get a further extension as it is a degree course but would definitely be worth asking. My big problem is trying to fit the work in last term I was up until 1 or 2am getting it done but this term now mmy husband has gone I am exhausted by the time dc are in bed but I don't actually sleepp just lay here

AnAirOfHope · 04/05/2013 04:09

Do you have anyone to look after your kids so you can do the essay?

Give kids to ex for a day and do essay?

You cant change ex leaving

You will get time to yourself to do your assignments and you will get your degree and a great job.

Its very stressful right now but it will work out.

Take it one step at a time xx

1stepforward · 04/05/2013 04:10

Will your husband take your DC overnight or for some of the week to let you work? If not your husband, is there anyone else that can step in for this month to free up some of your time? Try and think of it as short term pain - just need to get through this month if the essay is due at the end of May. When and where do you work best? For me, it's better if I work out of the house as there are too many distractions. Would it be possible to treat the writing as a job and ringfence times to work and focus solely on the project? With DC and everything that's going on it won't be easy, but try and not be overwhelmed by the whole task. Break it into chunks and plan as best you can and you will start to feel better as you achieve any mini goals that you set yourself. Try and look after yourself and eat well and if you cant sleep try and not worry too much - tell yourself that at least you are having a rest and that will do your body some good.

2anddone · 04/05/2013 06:31

themidwife · 05/05/2013 00:10

She's full of Jamaican! Smile

jynier · 05/05/2013 01:00

Hi, guys! So sorry for all your trials and tribulations!

Have been busy trying to raise awareness of Liverpool Care Pathway and Premarin (HRT) scandal.

I wish that I knew how to cut and paste/share! Such an interesting article in an American magazine has been sent to me by email about the LCP.

cafecito · 05/05/2013 01:47

2anddone you have plenty of time. it may seem terrifying but it you break it down as advised.. it will just form itself. I am in a similar position (I have a few 5000 word ones due by 15th) and I haven't started them yet [aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh] and it's suddenly may. A very wise MNer once said to me 'just do twenty minutes' and it's true, if you aim to do 20 minutes, it's all a lot more manageable.

How old are DC?

waves to 1step and Air

cafecito · 05/05/2013 01:51

Full of Jamaican!!??? Grin

bear hugs MrsShrek

hello Jynier and themidwife Smile

Oh dear. I should really be asleep, as I have to be awake and up and out by 7.30. Then I have an all day course. Confused but no, I am up, and have eaten everything in my apartment Shock I think my antisocial behaviour has reached its peak, I cannot even reply to emails anymore and texts are left unread Hmm I just cannot manage it right now with looming exams I will derive no pleasure from being normal

MrsShrek is this the neuro exam!? how is it all going?

jynier · 05/05/2013 01:53

Hi, cafe! Are you still doing 1001 things at once? Hope that you have a good weekend! Best wishes, x

jynier · 05/05/2013 02:06

Sorry! X-posted! I'm out in the garden watching two delightful little hedgehogs. They are so very sweet!

Bluebells are out in the local woods so am hoping to get some good pics of my NZ granddaughter when she arrives here in 2 weeks time; have never met her!

I no longer work; am envious of you lot!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 05/05/2013 02:17
Grin

Indeed, full of Jamaican Wink

2anddone, I'm sorry you are having such a horrible time at the moment. Sad Some great advice on here. If you can stand to, I would recommend telling your uni about your situation. They, like banks, are usually ok as long as you communicate.

Good luck Smile

cafecito · 05/05/2013 02:20

awwwww exciting about your granddaughter, how old is she jynier? that will be such an amazing occasion Smile

hedgehogs and bluebells and woods *sigh CG

and dishy butlers

yes still doing 1001 things at once, well, 3 degrees at once Confused it would seem. I never ever ever have a day off. not ever. and I realise that with exams now, in may, in june, and then july I think there's one.. then with exams in October as well, I have well and truly buggered up my summer. hohum.

I got the most irritating email from xP's parents today (they sent me 2 whiney ones I didn't reply to this week as had absolutely no time at all) today's was evil, saying how disappointed they are in me that I haven't made the effort to go and visit them MILES AND MILES away because they are going on ANOTHER cruise next week and I am a disappointment and how if this is my attitude they are excluding DS from their will (this family is obsessed with wills). I received the email on ipad from a lecture theatre in central London at about 8pm, when I was still there. I am still a little cross. I have no time whatsoever and they are beyond mean, I used to cry whenever I left their house, and they've never once helped me despite promising to. argh. They literally shout and finger point and put me down incessantly and they are the driving force in the end of my relationship with P who was a prize twunt (for goat sharpening) but I wonder if things could have got better. they promised to be guarantors then weren't, leaving me and a 2 year old homeless.. oog the list is endless. *rant rant over

cafecito · 05/05/2013 02:22

Kitty! Grin

jynier · 05/05/2013 02:22

Kitty - am so envious of you! How are you feeling and, more to the point, how is littlekitty now?

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 05/05/2013 02:22

jynier · 05/05/2013 02:29

So sorry, cafe - X-posted! I am a grandmother and would do anything, ANYTHING, for my little grandchildren! Your XP's parents seem so weird!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 05/05/2013 02:30

Thanks for asking, jynier. Smile She's been asleep from 21.30-2. it worried she won't settle now.
