OP posts:
cafecito · 24/04/2013 01:08

AirofHope the epic fail was on us, not you! please hang about if you're awake, sorry you're depressed feel free to share if it helps. I think a lot of us have experienced the backwardsness of being awake when everyone is asleep and it's pretty wearing after a time in itself without everything else

jynier - yes this party let's invite izzy please and stoic and expat too, to this party, and rips and her kidney. let's invite everyone. (I go to a very PC school) :)

cafecito · 24/04/2013 01:10

MrsShrek I promise not to operate on you Grin I often watch my washing too, it's currently in a heap in my kitchen Blush

cafecito · 24/04/2013 01:13
jynier · 24/04/2013 01:48

Cafe - The video was v. funny. Don't worry about sewing-up - just watch all episodes of "Great British Sewing Bee!" It was the final tonight!

Pleased that you're up for the party - think that we should have complete "open house" with everything that you suggested plus glitter balls!

Also think that we should be open to requests from others on the thread although your idea of fancy dress is good! I'm warming to the idea of a "Grease" evening as I like all the songs and I'm a dead ringer for Sandy!!!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 24/04/2013 02:14

Hello Smile

stars We had a lovely day, thank you, which included feeding carp and geese on a pond and seeing ducks and lambs

It was beautifully warm in kittycity. How about where everyone else is?

Mrs I'll wash the footballyboy shrek kit in exchange for done littlekitty entertaining Grin. I love getting washing clean Blush

Cafe kitty me up~haha well, there are many things you can do with a brogue. I particularly love the Agatha Christie look of pencil skirt (for me, tweed) ankle socks and brogues. I wear mine at the moment with my circle dresses. Or trousers of course (again tweed). They are just so versatile Wink

Yes, a floaty dress would take a brogue very well I reckon.

Do tell me what they are like; black, Brown, tan? patent? matt? New? Vintage? Smile

jynier thank you for the punch Grin. The music must be ska for me or very early Dixieland jazz

I defy anyone not to dance to a ska beat. Grin

Hi to everyone else.

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 24/04/2013 02:15

Disney/eyes wide shut? Hmm Confused Blush Shock Grin

Oh the imagesBlush

jynier · 24/04/2013 02:36

Brilliant idea, Kitty! We'll have a great night dancing to ska!

Out of curiosity, do you like Ella Fitzgerald? There was a terrific programme on Radio 4 today entitled "Ella in Berlin." She forgot the lyrics to "Mack the Knife;" improvised and then won two Grammys for her performance!!!!

You don't have to bring anything to the party, Kitty, as no-one wants you to be over-tired! Just bring yourself! There will be a creche for the little ones if they get tired. Does Littlekitty have any favourite foods?

jynier · 24/04/2013 03:01

Oh, FFS! Am here on my own again!!!

Just wondering if I should make a salmon mousse for Friday; what's everyone else doing?

jynier · 24/04/2013 03:39

Been in the garden but have not yet seen one meteor! Moon looks beautiful - will be full soon. Milk float went by! Foxes are very noisy - think that they're mating.

Does anyone think that we should have a children's entertainer on Friday night? Want the party to be a success!!!

themidwife · 24/04/2013 06:23

Sorry Jynier - I'm still on the sleep from 10pm-5am bollox!

Salmon mouse! Remember the monty python sketch?! Perhaps we'd better not!

Brogues - DH went through a brogues, flat cap & oilskin coat phrase - didn't like it much! His BF from Uni said he looked like a thin Uncle Monty!! GrinGrin

Mountains of laundry to sort out - makes me feel all anxious!! I'm a bit OCD - I just couldn't leave it BlushBlush

Cafe the pimping video was hilarious! I teach Neonatal Life Support to qualified staff inc paeds & neonatologists. Mostly they are v humble & keen but we get the odd senior one who just can't accept a lowly midwife teaching them & they firmly resist . Being failed & having to resit often sorts that out! I can imagine them pimping medical students for fun!!

I'm on call on Saturday night next. Re your friend & midwifery - I think it's a case of try it & see! Is she coming from a non NHS background?

Oooh a party!! I love a prawn ring!! I'd better not bring Spider Cat as he likes them too & he broke the cat flap last night pretending to be an Exocet missile so he's in the dog house! Grin
What shall I bring?

BearsInMotion · 24/04/2013 06:25

We had a lovely day yesterday, babybear had 2 long naps so I managed to get everything done in the house and then we played in the garden. And she only got up once in the night!

Children's entertainer would be good, be nice to have a nocturnal break from the little darlings!

themidwife · 24/04/2013 06:34

Hi Bears - I'm not sure I could go back to nocturnal babies in the night!! Youngest is 4 in July so finally reliable!!

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 06:50

Today I have a massive bottom lip. I look like sulk city. I failed miserably on filing and VAT will have another run at it today.
Watch out midwife I am coming over hippy hills this evening to the theatre, to see some dance. I will pick up tips for party.

themidwife · 24/04/2013 07:17

Oooh mini that sounds good! We're v lucky to have hippyhills theatre!

What's with the lip? What trouble could you have got into in the night?! Shock

themidwife · 24/04/2013 08:13

Bernard - definitely Bernard!

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 08:28

I am lining up a nice day. Firstly antihystemine. Then having goodby breakfast with a friend who is leaving the area. My DH has finally given in and said he would be home to help with paperwork < cause of my stress last week> then pre theatre dining with friend. Am excited, < also going to Thaetre tomorrow with DH- don't get the idea that this is typical though>. Also thread party. And RL party for my gd who is 2. Aw.

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 08:30

Also votes for Bernard. cafe are you a hex on traffic?
And while we are on it. I think I have pixies.

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 08:36

Oh and re party. I will dance to anything. And Jynier must yodel and play the spoons. Can we have posh popcorn, salt and caramel mmmmm?

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 24/04/2013 08:57

Yes themidwife, definitely Bernard Grin. Although I think you got a bit lost Grin
My husband wanted to call littlekitty BernardConfused He actually, seriously did Shock

Mini sorry about your face but your day sounds lovely. I love that hippyhilly theatre, especially walking out into the garden on a sunny evening Smile

Having pixies is, I imagine better than having rats. Hmm

jynier I couldn't possibly come to a party with my two arms hanging Hmm. I'll give it sine thought. How about char siu pork ribs or Jamaican pork belly? Ooh I could make a baked New York cheesecake Grin

jynier I did hear that program, it was delightful. I love Ella and I have a copy of that recording and know it very well. I love the bit when she takes off Louis Grin. A very talented lady and superior to Billie Holiday in my opinion.

I'll bring it to the party too.

Mini I can't wait to see you bust some moves with your sulky cellar step lip

We had a bad night and I'm all achy and headachy today. Sad

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 24/04/2013 09:10

Most of the baked cheesecake must be for themidwife of course, as she can't eat the pork Grin

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 12:42

Kitty I am one of those ' embarrassing ' dancers. ie. I actually don't care anymore so just go for it. My lip has gone down. Sorry you are achy and headachey, are you fluey? < makes nice toddy for kitty>

AnyFucker · 24/04/2013 14:01

Jynier thank you for your invite to the party. How very kind of you. Unfortunately I shall have to decline as I will be out of broadband range all weekend this week. Don't pity me Smile

< this is a busy thread, isn't it ? >

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 24/04/2013 14:41

Thank mini hmm, alcohol-free toddy, just lemon and brown sugar then?!

wotcha wearin tonight?

I'm achy because of broken sleep, its what happens to my old bones these days Sad Grin

Minimammoth · 24/04/2013 15:46

I am sure we can find an alcohol free whiskey. Otherwise I would have honey and cloves. Will go and ponder my wardrobe.
