The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Wondering Where The Spring For Their Boing Is!

Mouseface · 24/03/2013 12:23

Hi I'm Mouse

One of the Brave Babes on the Bus, a Bus full of different posters, some who drink more than they'd like to and are trying to stop, some who don't drink at all now, and some who are somewhere in the middle. :)

There's no judging here, no finger pointing, no rejection, just pure, unconditional, (occasionally tough), love and empathy.

We all share stories of how we got here, to have our seat on the Bus, looking for our own personal sobriety, our own personal happiness. Sometimes we talk about other things too, you know, like cake, cheese Wink and even day to day life, life that can lead us to breaking point......... lead us to hit rock bottom.

So, why not come say hi, take a seat, post, lurk, whatever suits you :)

This is our latest journey with a link to others

And this is the reason we're ALL here, the first ever thread

Hope to see you soon :)

I saw this video and it made me think of how i have been at weddings in the past (and not that distant!) Watching it shows how quickly a situation with alcohol can turn from harmless and seemingly funny to really really horrible.

Not sure if I've made the linky thing ok...probably not!

ohcluttergotme · 12/04/2013 16:51

Wave to all babes & think your plan sounds amazing mouse, really hope everything goes ok for you all.
Wishing all babes strength tonight x

dementedma · 12/04/2013 19:42

Hey mouse glad you have got things sorted in your head and in your heart for the wee fish boy. indie was telling us how gorgeous he is. Do you know she has the cheek to think mrmouse was lush....there IS a queue you know!
alias was that you driving? For God's sake don't let indie get hold of the keys....

greeneyed · 12/04/2013 20:55

Just catching up, hello all lovely babes. How nice to be able to get together. mouse you are doing a great job.

clutter that is one hangover I wouln't want to wake up to (did have a small giggle though)

ohcluttergotme · 12/04/2013 20:59

I know Green that's exactly what I thought....arghhhh how will she feel when she sobers up!
Dh showed it to me & said as soon as he started watching it he thought of me & thought it was funny Shock
I thought funny til I saw the bride at the end. But oh can you imagine the poor woman's hangover Hmm

greeneyed · 12/04/2013 21:10

isinde I have stopped buying any booze cards also

greeneyed · 12/04/2013 22:00

And I would have felt the same as you did about the one of the guy walking up a hill sounds pretty cruel.

ohcluttergotme · 12/04/2013 22:47

Aw Isindie nope didn't take it in that way at all. Could see you were agreeing with where I was trying to come from too.
It all looks to some as the pissed bloke or girl are hilarious. But for the girl at the wedding the bride didn't look too impressed & I'm sure at that wedding a few others would of been pissed off. And with the clip you saw on facebook, you just think the guy could smack his head of the wall, would the arse in the car sit & film that too...probably in the society we live in!
I don't like seeing really drunk people yet have been one on too many occasions.
My dd (13) has said loads of times she hates seeing me drunk & I now think no wonder.

Just started watching Mad Men tonight, bit of a late starter to get into this series but seems brilliant.
Fascinating to see how smoking & drinking were so utterly normal. I wonder if alcohol in 20-30 years will end up being seen in the same light that smoking is now?
Off to bed babes, this is well late for me. Night all x

guggenheim · 13/04/2013 09:21

Morning babes

clutter Shock wow! That daft woman completely ruined that rather elegant wedding, didn't she? It was funny for a bit but...blimey! The thing is that is was clearly a tres posh do where the lovely bride just wanted a quiet wedding, the guests were chatting quietly this is a culture shock to the likes of me and the 'lady' in red just took over. That was before she caused the accident.

Gulp. I'm a bit of a wedding boozer. Lots of stupid dancing and vomming in the bogs classy. I wouldn't have caused that accident but only because I don't look nice in a tight fitting frock and can't pole dance Smile I am the queen of going to bed with candles lit in the room and it's taken me until now to realise that when I used to do this,I could have burned the bloody house down. I was sharing with friends at the time so I could have caused a really hideous accident. Thankfully, that didn't happen but it's those small things that booze makes us do that can bring about general chaos! Ok. I'll stop ranting now.

I was watching 'secret eaters' t'other night, while scoffing easter egg, and wishing that they would do similar with drinking. I would be glued to the screen...and hoping not to feature,of course. ahem.

mouse, gree, bunny killer..isinde,ma,venus,joey umm... everyone- have a lovely sunny sober day. And don't pole dance at vey naice weddings. Won't end well.

dementedma · 13/04/2013 09:55

[Grin] at indie off to feed the rabbits. Oh, the temptation.....

Hi all
Had a nice day. Did a run/walk this morning in the sunshine and felt fine. Then took mum out for coffee and cake - nice to have some time together.
Then dinner and we watched The Hobbit.
Have had a bottle of red but feel OK with it.
I don't know about letting indie drive the bus. I fear for the wildlife.....

Fairenuff · 13/04/2013 22:04

Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run... Grin

Mouseface · 13/04/2013 22:19

IsinDe - I agree re 'blowing' the autopilot up!! Grin Silver best get her arse back as we need a nice Spring drive to somewhere picturesque. Mountains and green landscapes with pure blue skies above us.

Where is silver by the way?
What do you guys say to a Brave Babes meet up for all of us? Have to be somewhere central. maybe in the summer or autumn? Somewhere where there is cheap accommodation.Where there is a tank for Barrie...and birdmites..and horrid baby doll..and lots of opal fruits. Or we could do tents and camp? Or who has a BIG house?
