Hi! MrsShrek3 - How are you feeling today? Thinking of you and sending best wishes, x!

MrsShrek3 · 14/03/2013 00:24

thanks all you lovely lot. yes I've re-read. I did ok today until I got an email from the boss towards the end of the morning. it was all support, she wasn't wanting to grab me and start asking questions so messaged instead and asked if I needed a chat or something. Unluckily this set off the waterworks again and I had to hide for half an hour Sad Have acknowledged her offer but wonder if it is professional suicide to tell her much. she knows about DH and has been fantastic.

Still haven't told anyone what's going on. it's like hitting a wall where the words just don't come out Hmm Oh shit I'm rambling again...sorry

jynier · 14/03/2013 00:34

MrsShrek3 -If you keep bottling things up, you are going to explode eventually! Sending very best wishes, x

rips sounds like great fun in your house at the moment ...

"like a rhinestone kidney,
riding out on a horse on a star-spangled rodeo"
Grin
etc.

Think I've made a successful cot put-down and as I'm talking to myself, I'll be off to bed. Hope this means you are all sleeping Smile

jynier · 14/03/2013 02:50

Trying unsuccessfully to get some sleep!

ripsishere · 14/03/2013 02:52

Our house is pretty interesting mainly due to DD and her late telling me about things that need to be done for school by tomorrow. We had to go to the supermarket again to buy cake mix. Despite her class not being involved in baking cakes, her and her BFF volunteered to do a load and take the money.
midwife how do you stay sane? same question for MrsShrek.
Off to see my refugees again this afternoon. I had word from another volunteer that one had been picked up by the police for selling flowers in KL.
Because Malaysia doesn't recognize asylum seekers, they aren't allowed to work or go to school or access govt. healthcare. My biggest thing is the working. How else are they to access safe housing or health care/ stupid rule.

jynier · 14/03/2013 03:05

Hi rips! - hope that DD arrives at school suitably equipped!

Don't think that asylum seekers are allowed to work here in the UK. May have got the facts wrong as am extremely tired and brain has gone to mush!

ripsishere · 14/03/2013 03:39

I know it's a different system in Engand/UK, but they are recognized. here they are left to their own devices and exploited dreadfully. 'My' boy is just 12. One of his parents works as a security guard during the day for 10 RM (2 quid) his dad gets an extra 2 ringett because he works nights.

jynier · 14/03/2013 04:12

Believe that many people are exploited over here; it's disgraceful!

Can't sleep! Massive grief attack.

ripsishere · 14/03/2013 04:25

(((jynier)))
have to go our now, but look after yourself.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/03/2013 05:16

Back again. I must've had about 2.5 hours sleep.

What makes tonight so different to last night? Hmm

Hi jynier are you still up?

jynier · 14/03/2013 05:29

I am so angry! Have just been reading about a 16-y-o lad who was planning a gun massacre at his school in Northants. We all remember Dunblane and Sandy Hook and the poor unfortunate children who lost their lives.

I don't know how to share this but the article was in The Telegraph on Tuesday, 12th March, under the heading "Bullied" boy revealed plans for school killings on internet chat room, by Nick Britton.

I have huge sympathy for people with mental health problems but none at all for those who wish to kill.

The whole thing came to light due to a tip-off to the FBI from an American chat-room user; it has not been widely publicised. Why not?

Minimammoth · 14/03/2013 06:39

There is some really heart sinking stuff around. I try not to get too gloomy about it but sometimes........
I woke up early, a few financial related worries going on. Just trying to trust it will come in. Hope you get restedkitty

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/03/2013 06:49

Thanks mini Smile I think we finally have another successful put down so I'll try to grab an hour. All night she just wanted to sleep on me, went off easily but woke every time I put her down- very unusual..I'm sorry to hear about your financial worries. I hope something comes your way soon Smile

jynier indeed the world can be a horrendous place, but if we look in the right direction, it can also be uplifting.

Midwife99 · 14/03/2013 07:25

I find reading articles about things like that make things worse. I know you're suffering grief but there are good things happening in the world that can make you feel more positive. The way I stay sane is to focus on the good things in my life (my other 3 happy kids) & my job & my friends.

Minimammoth · 14/03/2013 09:40

On an upnote, it is a beeeeooootiful day here. Off I go.

Midwife99 · 14/03/2013 09:51

Yes here too!! Cheer up Midwife!!!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/03/2013 11:17

I agree with themidwife. I think focussing on the dark and horrific compounds the bad feeling. There are plenty of positive stories out there. I think it helps anyone to re-engage with the light. Smile

How are you themidwife? How are your hills? Smile

SummerDad · 14/03/2013 18:56

Whats that all about hills and 69 stuff, seems I have a lot to catch up Grin

Minimammoth · 14/03/2013 19:18

It's Midwife, she likes the odd ice cream but sometimes licks the bottom not the topGrin

SummerDad · 14/03/2013 19:23

ROFL Minimammoth, with due respect for midwife can't take my mind off this visual with a caption of 69 on the top now, hehe.

I hope every one has been fine in the mean time, I have been just hibernating for some time getting some long standing work done. There has been some positive changes in my life that's why I guess I have been having regular sleep lately.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/03/2013 19:25

And she's got specacular hills Grin

MrsShrek3 · 14/03/2013 19:28

ohh lordy Grin

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/03/2013 19:31

ooh is it a lady-shaped positive thing? Wink
