Well, I had my ego stroked. sort of. I went to the supermarket and got some stuff for our dinner and some fags. I queued up behind the fattest man I've ever seen. He was buying 10 super large packets of baby nap pies which is by the by.
He couldn't get all his shopping in his trolley, so I said I'd let him use my one and help him downstairs with it.
We strolled over to his car, he unloaded all his stuff then offered to take my solitary medium bag to my car because you are a lovely lady, I don't think so, I am 5"10' of blubbering fat. When I declined he asked me for my phone number, I said I didn't have a phone so he tried to give me 20 ringett (about a tenner). i said no. He insisted so DD now has another bit of cash for her kidney.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 13/03/2013 21:31

Hi all. Well would you believe my babu slept for 10 hrs straight last night! That's why you didn't hear from me. We spent the morning snuggling my friend's tiny newborn and the afternoon making shortbread to give as a gift to my good friend who I should be seeing on Friday but has just had to cancel Sad

Sooo, all-butter shortbread anyone? Grin

I've got lots to catch up on so it might take me some time.

Hi to newbies Smile

ShockWink to stars (I've skimmedGrin )

Midwife99 · 13/03/2013 21:51

How lovely Kitty you must feel soooo much better!!!

Bad news my end - DS2 aged 19 (drug user & all round major worry) has been sent to prison (again) for assaulting his exgf & 2 police officers. Sigh .......... Sad

cafecito · 13/03/2013 22:43

oh themidwife- what a terrible worry for you - no sensible words- how long is the sentence? I used to be up to speed with criminal law (helped edit a textbook) but now not so much. does he have good representation? how many times has he been in? big big cafe squidge hug

[grabs 3 shortbreads in 3 trips]- LOVE shortbread

I was very domesticated! I can't believe my entire apartment is spotless. I feel strange. And I went all the way zone 1-zone3 and back this morning, and also went to zone 4 this evening for a class. I am so tired. I can't sleep though. Was lying in bed awake last night for ages.

weird day hey grapes- sunny then blizzards! sounds like a good one for you

cafecito · 13/03/2013 22:45

actually- I was NOT that domesticated - I was like, er, can I offer you tea or coffee.... I have no biscuits, because I ate them.. and I had a really great pain au chocolat but I ate that too.. ''do you have any milk'' er... no....

TERRIBLE domestication levels !

Midwife99 · 13/03/2013 22:48

He's been in 4 times now. I don't know how long or where he is yet. He has SO many offences against him now, some of which very violent. The police & probation have tried so hard to work with him to prevent reoffending & keep him out of prison. Sad

MrsShrek3 · 13/03/2013 22:50

hug for midwife :(

Midwife99 · 13/03/2013 22:52

(He's 19 & left home at 16)

jynier · 13/03/2013 23:26

So sorry, *Midwife99" - Do you know how he first got into drugs? I only ask because I have known quite a few young people who have been co-erced into dealing. I blame the people at the top of the drugs chain. A young woman was given the house next door to me (she was only 20) and it became obvious that she was using the place as a drugs/party den! I live in a small village and knew most people who were visiting but the police would not take me seriously. I think that they were in cahoots with the drug barons but don't quote me!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 13/03/2013 23:34

oh themidwife Sad. That's so shitty and so sad. I'm so sorry to hear that. It must be so hard for you to witness and must make you feel do powerless. Kitty-flavoured hugs and squeezes too, for what they are worth. I'm sorry, I've no advice to offer. Sad Be kind to yourself (A phrase I've learnt on here recently and think I like. I think it is open to some very useful interpretation)

Mrs Sad for you too. If you are out there munching on my shortbread I agree with cafe and jynier that you need some time out to get clear, rest, recharge, whatever. Regroup, I believe it is called. A number of years ago I had a run of stresses, nothing like what you or themidwife are experiencing, and my legs just stopped working one day. I literally ran myself into the ground. I had to take 2 months off work and then have a very slow return to work plan. I know you said you would reread so I hope you don't think I'm nagging.

cafe you were very brave sharing your experiences below. thank youSmile I agree with what you are saying to mrs but dare I say "physician heal thyself"? Hmm Grin Busy Dr Cafe. Glad you are enjoying the shortbread.

Glad you are all enjoying my sweet treats Wink
