Good for you midwife. I should think so too Grin

kalidanger · 25/02/2013 08:37

kalidanger- sometimes I stay awake because I don't want the next day to come (sounds a bit silly but staying up somehow is less bad than going to bed knowing when you wake up you'll be there at the next day already)

Oh, I don't think it's silly. I think it's a pretty good sign things are a bit shitty Sad So frustrated Angry And now I'm going to be late! But I don't care!!

Oopla · 25/02/2013 09:08

We got there in the end. Thanks for asking Smile sorry for the midnight rant.

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 11:35

Totally understandable Oopla!!!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 12:26

Brew in case you need it

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 13:56

Can't stay awake now though!!! Blush

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 16:58

ooh midwife surely all those snuffly babies should be stimulus enough? Have a sniff for me Smile

Of course that's all there is to being a midwife Hmm Grin

I'm always knackered on Mondays - school run, 3 year old at home, body pump at gym while 3 year old in crèche for an hour, lunch, housework & laundry, 3 year old's swimming lesson, school pick up, make kids dinner, homework, 9 year old's street dance class, bath, bed, lunch boxes for tomorrow, more laundry, adult dinner, dishwasher. Collapse. Work is much less tiring! Baby sniffing mainly you're right!! Wink

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 17:19

oh well that's no good. No chance of a snooze then?

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 17:24

There was half an hour after lunch when DD was watching Cbeebies with me on the sofa & I think I did briefly drop off & then panicked in case we missed swimming!! Grin

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 17:41

oh dear. I shan't tell you about our 2.5hr sleep then. Blush Only because we had been up since 6 and so my daughter was exhausted. She'll be up all night now though of course because she didn't wake till 4.30 Hmm

It sounds like my life is one big kittynap Hmm it really isn't I promise. I'm just in the position were I can often sleep when she sleeps

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 20:15

I am not jealous kitty honestly Wink
No it's fine - the kids are in bed, 3 year old asleep for an hour now. Jobs done & I am now eating peanut butter on toast in my freshly changed bed & planning to be asleep by 930!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 21:00

ah well that's where you win midwife Grin

glad I caught you, night night Smile

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 21:26

Night all! Hope you all sleep tonight

or if not have some hilarious banter for me to read tomorrow

Smile
kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 21:48

Smile hi summerdad

Night all. I'm away to bed which means my daughter will wake in 5 4 3 2 1....

MrsShrek3 · 26/02/2013 01:42

not been to sleep yet, only on way to bed - thought I would wait til I felt tired Hmm

jynier · 26/02/2013 03:03

Can't sleep. Huge grief. Would love to turn back the clock but know that it's impossible. My precious ones are gone.

cafecito · 26/02/2013 03:23

Oh jynier. It's technically not impossible :) I know that feeling, the whatifs? the ifonlys? the desperate longing to just go back for one day? to do one thing differently? to say one thing you didn't say at the time?

I know it's deeply personal but if you'd like to tell us about them, please do.

one thing that helped me was this : eternal presence, glancing light, does not depend on touch or sight

cafecito · 26/02/2013 03:25

I am wide awake, had too much coffee today, did yoga, still too awake, went for a long long walk around central london listening to music on my ipod to try and tire myself out (very early morning start..) .. been home a few hours.. wide wide awake..

foxy6 · 26/02/2013 03:27

Hi all can I join after spending the majority of Saturday , Sunday and until 2 pm today sleeping I am now wide awake and worrying about things

cafecito · 26/02/2013 03:29

kalidanger- I have worked somewhere before where I loved it to start with, but by the end I would spend leave in tears. It's truly destroying when you're unhappy in your job. Particularly frustrating if you actually like what you do, but have management issues or a difficult colleague. Totally exhausting.

Jynier- really, it's okay to share if you feel able to or like it would help you. x

cafecito · 26/02/2013 03:31

hello foxy! sorry to hear you're worrying Sad - are you sleeping lots because you feel quite down? or just a bit out of whack? I know if I sleep in the day I really cannot sleep at night at all. welcome to the night crew Smile
