fish? gosh, more like

cafecito · 25/02/2013 00:09

midwife it's a must have! can't start a monday morning without finishing the apple pie on sunday night. absolutely. (and apples...pectin..vitamins..etc..er...good for you)

kitty - sometimes coughs are caused by a little gross thing called 'post nasal drip' (which is irrelevant, but thought I'd share, cos it has a bit of a revoltuous name)

DS is still most confused about his willy- and apparently the only way he will know I love him is if I buy him a brown elephant in the supermarket Confused Grin

cafecito · 25/02/2013 00:14

yes the more sweet things I eat the more it fuels my craving and I end up on a 2 week sugar bender (as I am now) will need a few days of being strict then I am detoxed.. as soon as I have sugary stuff again it all starts again Hmm

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 00:15

cafe is that why if you blow your nose is can suppress the cough for a bit? Any explanation for the vicks on the feet thing? mine is a dry tickle at the back of my soft pallet.

Really annoying.

plus I want cake nowSad

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 00:17

I never had a sweet tooth till pregnancy. Really making up for it now

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 00:18

Do the supermarkets stock Brown elephants?

expatinscotland · 25/02/2013 00:28

'My candle burns at both ends,
it will not last the night;
But ah my foes and o my friends -
It gives a lovely light.'

cafecito · 25/02/2013 00:30

sounds like you have postnasal drip kitty! yes to blowing nose, it's a flow of mucus

I'm not familiar with vicks on feet!

cafecito · 25/02/2013 00:34

goodness me kitty- I never knew that!! seems like it works (don't know why, have a number of hypotheses) probably it's just the same way as vicks usually would work.. but I kinda want to find out now Grin

expatinscotland · 25/02/2013 00:36

I'm up watching vids of Grumpy Cat.

MrsShrek3 · 25/02/2013 00:37

love expat's quotation. Love many a quote from Alice in wonderland tbh.
Very pleased that banter has returned, and have read all tonights posts and had a good chuckle. Particularly that midwife and dc seem to have the same terminology as us....ds2 was very small when ds1 first wanted to know what his "proper name" for willy was - obv we told him penis, ds2 thought it was "peanuts", carried on saying it and that's stuck ever since Blush Grin

MrsShrek3 · 25/02/2013 00:39

cafe, dd has one of those postnasal drip things.... she's on montelukast to deal with it, no idea why nothing else works. Spill your knowledge?

kalidanger · 25/02/2013 00:43

I'm up late because I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I used to love my job Sad

SummerDad · 25/02/2013 00:51

kalidanger ditto though I still love what I do Smile

OP posts:
kalidanger · 25/02/2013 00:52

Yep. It's the framework mine's in that's the problem. Blah.

Oopla · 25/02/2013 00:55

THREE hours I've been trying to feed/rock/hold/beg/plead ds back to sleep.

He's 12m old and this shit is getting old.

cafecito · 25/02/2013 01:07

montelukast, afaik blocks the action of leukotrienes at the receptor level. In essence it works like krill oil works. (it's the precursor step to the arachidonic acids) so it blocks the inflammatory process at these receptor sites.. (I think, but it's late and I might be wrong) so it's useful in asthma and allergic rhinitis because of the inflammatory mediating effects (hayfever-type symptoms)

cafecito · 25/02/2013 01:10

oopla - that's exhausting

kalidanger- sometimes I stay awake because I don't want the next day to come (sounds a bit silly but staying up somehow is less bad than going to bed knowing when you wake up you'll be there at the next day already)

cafecito · 25/02/2013 01:16

my above post was nonsense mrsshrek - but in essence it works by blocking leukotriene production/action and they are a big player in terms of inflammation and smooth muscle contraction, it's a drug called an antagonist that works at receptors (an agonist essentially increases the action, an antagonist inhibits) there are lots of different types of leukotrienes. does DD have asthma or any allergies?

SummerDad · 25/02/2013 01:17

cafe, you explain things so well. This is the second time specially, first you explained the mechanics of counselling, hats off to you, will try to sleep now as have a very long day tomorrow though might come back if I cant sleep Wink.

OP posts:
jynier · 25/02/2013 03:03

I never understood a word of cafe's 01:07:33 post or her subsequent p.

You're all far too clever for me!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 06:27

I take the silence to mean a sleeping summerdad?

how did everyone else get on? my daughter has just woken (well at 6) for the first time since midnight. she was soaking wet, nappy, jarmie top and bottoms, and sleeping bag Sad. Always feels so cold and uncomfortable when that happens. hoping she will go off again like yesterday.

I had a horrible dream about rape Sad. Don't know where that came from.

I didn't connect the penis/peanuts thing at first but now I understand....that's so lovely andade me smileSmile

Dr cafe thanks for the diagnosis and I agree with summerdad you have a lovely way of explaining the the unwashed masses Grin

midwife what was the verdict in the Apple crumble?

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 06:34

oopla you poor thing, Sad mine is 15 months and I regularly get the same.

How did your night turn out?

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 25/02/2013 06:38

Kansas any news? Smile

Midwife99 · 25/02/2013 07:47
