How much noise is it 'normal' to make during sex? (TMI alert!)

When I'm having sex I like to make a lot of noise and er ....express myself. My ex liked it and said it spured him on. My new bf is worried that it will annoy the nieghbours and dosn't like it much. TBH when I'm doing it I couldn't give a shit what the neighbours think as I am enjoying it too much!
I could try toning it down a bit but there is no way I am going to remain silent. With my last dp we once did it outside in a secluded area and I still didn't shut up; cue giggles and piss taking from some distant passers by! It dosn't really bother me although I am aware that some people might find it odd.
This new man isn't at all serious so I am not going to change styles. So my question is; are you noisy during sex? It seems that I am noisier than most men but then I imagine many women are. Is it odd to want to make a lot of noise during sex?

SunshineOutdoors · 14/01/2013 20:18

This thread is hilarious. I shouldn't want to read it, but I can't help it. Af your last post made me laugh out loud.

Best thing I've read in ages, like an episode of Shameless Grin

shotofexpresso · 14/01/2013 22:11

I never thought 'real people' made that much noise, how do your partners not laugh?

I wonder how many people would make crazy levels of noise if porn didn't exist? *ponders....

izzyizin · 14/01/2013 22:25

It is Shameless, Katie.

If the OP screams like a banshee when she's being rogered by a random, I wonder what she sounds like when she's having his name added to the others tattooed in the region of her fanjo?

Xales · 14/01/2013 22:30

It is really bloody annoying when a neighbor starts screaming (and I mean literally screaming their head off so much you look outside the first time as you think someone is being attacked) at 2 am when you have work the following morning and goes on doing it for over an hour.

Even during the most adventurous sex your partner's head/ears are what max 3/4 feet away from your gob they can hear you at many decibels less!

It is not for your partner's benefit that loud merely to show off.

cronullansw · 15/01/2013 20:58

Excellent! Once again anyfucker is making a direct reference to me, this time insinuating I'm a wanker.

Charming.

smokinaces · 15/01/2013 21:03

I think there is a limit.

I am vocal and have been told so. However I am nothing compared to one guy.

He said he was noisy as it showed appreciation.

He was awful.

Like something out of a bad bad bad porno.

I actually put my hand over his mouth, told him to shut up, it was ridiculous. It was that bad.

I chucked him after I admit. Even the idea of it again put me off.

Sometimes there is such a thing as too much noise.

AnyFucker · 16/01/2013 00:46

LineRunner · 16/01/2013 00:51

Ah, he'll be one of Bishop Brennan's gang, then, Ted. The ones that like Girls.

AnyFucker · 16/01/2013 00:53

...as long as he applies the hand brake in time

feministefatale · 16/01/2013 06:19

I'm very loud Blush I find it a real struggle to keep quiet in that I can't let go properly and don't come or do in a sort of wimpy unsatisfactory way because I am over thinking my noise. :(

Obviously we all can keep it down if we have to... no one would be that loud with their mum in the next room for instance...it just doesn't feel natural.

Makes me sad, but can't fuck off the neighbours really

cuillereasoupe · 16/01/2013 15:49

A colleague of mine called the police on a screamer neighbour of hers at seven o'clock on a Sunday morning. Think on, OP.

2atClaridges · 16/01/2013 19:21

Being a bit of an analytical fella, I have observed the "noise" phenomena and its quite interesting really. I personally do not think that noise is related to the physical aspect of genital sensation/pleasure, rather its a perceived/learned behaviour or a belief that that is a way to behave.

If you like to make a big noise... bloody well make it and enjoy it. A number of partners have made little or no noise (oohs and aahs), some have been talkers mid way through (mmmh thats nice or make me cum again - I was rather proud of that moment but that's a separate thing entirely). I did have one partner who really made a lot of noise (loud shouting and swearing), I did notice that if I varied what I was doing from the usual to the meh! rather mediocre lets do it for the hell of it, the volume didn't change. My conclusion! My partner was enjoying it but the act of making noise was part of the overall enjoyment and fun.

I once had a room in a shared house next to a couple who were super-noise. It was difficult reconsiling the bedroom activities to the people as he was 5 1ish and looked like Catweasel and she was nearly the same height as me (taller in heels) and looked like someone from Ally McBeal (office wear). They did sound like a pair of putzes when they were at it... she was quite inventive and hilarious he sounded like he was trying to be a jackhammer on speed.
