The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Are Going To Need A Bigger Bus!

Mouseface · 08/01/2013 11:59

Hello, tis me, Mouse Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Battle Bus, it's a place of solace, support and sanctuary, but also it's also a Bus full of chatterboxes, waffling on about all sorts!

Our aim this year is to kick the WineWitch or WW into touch and get sober!

Some of the Babes on board are doing Dry January, some drink in moderation, some just drink. Some of us are sober, some of us are trying so very, very hard to be.

Some of us have been dry for days, weeks, months and some of us years...... some of us are just starting out and are scared of what stopping drinking means. It's not forever, it's just for today if that's what you want.

We have a saying on the Bus One Day At A Time. Or ODAAT Smile

Take each moment, each day and each blip as it comes.

Although some Babes have been here a while and kind of 'know' each other, we all have different lives, different roles to play, different places to sit on the Bus, but we ALL have or have had abusive relationships with alcohol and we're here because we want that to change; for the better.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE so don't be afraid to just jump right in and say hello. Post as much or as little as you like! It's all up to you.

For those who want to catch up - here is the PREVIOUS THREAD

And the first ever thread, with links to the others over the last almost 3 years! FIRST THREAD

mia yum, those meals sound delicious. i'm veggie do you have any good veggie ones? I'm a terrible cook partly because I don't follow recipes but usually because I'm drinking wine but I've managed a couple of really nice dishes recently.

baby Did you think any more about going to a meeting? I did pm back.

Well done to everyone who has managed to stop or cut down this month Smile tiger good for you picking up books again.

koala wow you sound good. Had you been drinking for long?

I'm a bit Envy about the boobs. Think at least one of you had my share too!

I had a bit of a low this afternoon but only for a little while till I had a rest and a snack like a pig. There is NO way I want to go back to the way I was drinking a few weeks ago. I hated the hangovers and the guilt and the night sweating. YUK!
I'm not convinced that I can stay off the booze for a long time, I'm pretty certain that I will have a slip up or choose to have a drink at some point, have to deal with that then. It's fantastic to be able to think clearly Smile
Oh and I had some spare cash to buy Ds some new cds (terrible kids music) because I haven't blown the lot on wine.

EastHollyDaleStreet · 18/01/2013 18:57

there's a bloody well quarter of a bottle of white wine in the fridge - I'm pouring it down the sink as it is, for the first time, since xmas, calling me. will return when it's done !

LRDtheFeministDragon · 18/01/2013 19:01

Sorry, I am dashing in and dashing out ... but I just wanted to write this here to make me stick to it. I'm off out with a couple of mates to the pub, and I won't be drinking. I'll come back and confirm I didn't afterwards! Smile

greeneyed · 18/01/2013 19:18

Who is Barry? Have I met him? Is he fish like and of sea origin? Is he a breast fan? He needs to be on here by all accounts! Grin

HOLLY - Do it. Don't drink it and tell us you've poured it away because you're only fooling you in the long run and I speak as someone who knows Blush xxxx

Maybe we should start a norkage appreciation society? It can be an add on to the Bus, we can tour far and wide or (big and small Grin) talking all things norkage. Grin

KEEP POSTING THOSE WHO ARE WOBBLING

Well done holly

mouse I was beginning to link wobbling to boob size too, glad you cleared that one up.

greeneyed · 18/01/2013 20:16

Babes as if I didn't need more reasons I have horrible gastritis - drinking is like pouring acid on a burn. I am drinking wine though :( I won't have more than this one glass as I literally can't stomach it - will be up half the night in pain :( Sorry for me me me post and not to name check - you ae all doing so well xx

PurpleWolfe · 18/01/2013 20:28

I'm here Koti. Grin Currently having a hot date.......with my electric blanket! Your team building thingy sounds horrendous! How potentially embarrassing! Well done on your weight loss. xx

Thanks East and Fragrant. Boings are getting a bit bigger each day. WW doesn't seem to have been bothering me since Monday - think she's getting all her arsenal ready for a sneaky onslaught sometime in the near future. Hmm East Well done for pouring the Misery Juice away - that's brilliant! Fragrant Such a sexy swagger! Lol!

Nice motivational post Mia. Smile

Mouse I hate to think of you struggling through the snow with your bad back. I hope you get it rested tonight and a bit of respite from the pain.

Feeling a tad guilty as have spoilt myself a bit today. Hair cut and re-highlighted, new Uggs (not shop price) and a handbag I've been hankering after all week. It's from a charity shop but brand new.

This thread has moved so fast. So sorry to anyone struggling tonight - whether it be with WW or over-sized 'puppies' Wink - I should be so lucky!

It's my weekend without DC (although 2 of them didn't want to go - which is good and bad at the same time Confused but went in the end) but I'm not feeling down about it this week for some reason.

Jango How have you got on this evening?

Soma Where are yoooooooooo? Joey, Gugg, Horses, Ma, Koala and Baby Hope you are OK tonight. x

Stay warm, Babes and watch that slippy ice! xxxx

greeneyed · 18/01/2013 20:37

Purple lovely to see great post from you and that you are okay without the DC x

PurpleWolfe · 18/01/2013 20:41

Green Sorry to hear about your gastritis. Do you have anything in your first aid box to help? xxxx

guggenheim · 18/01/2013 20:46

Hi purple that shopping trip sounds nice, good for you. I love finding a bargain in a charity shop makes it even better.

green awww. Stay warm and get some rest.

determinedma · 18/01/2013 20:48

phoenix yes, a vibe. A bullet one. I didn't actually know what it was Blush. I picked it up -eww - and fiddled with it and it buzzed and I shrieked!
Love the description of Barry - he smells, is covered in opal fruit wrappers and lives in a carrier bag. This bus gets more surreal by the minute. Grin

PurpleWolfe · 18/01/2013 20:54

Grin at Ma!

Gugg I love charity shop bargains. Smile

Mouseface · 18/01/2013 21:31

Purps - I'm okay. It's any uneven surfaces. Sand, cobbles, snow, rough ground, slopes, thick grass..... I just can't walk through or on it because of my back. The pain radiates through my pelvis and hips.

I got stuck in bed this morning, whilst my alarm was going off. DH was in the room and didn't try to help. I couldn't reach the fuckiing thing phone to turn itoffff. o, DD came into the bedroom in the end and said "are you okay mum", not realising that DH was in there.

She asked me tonight why he hadn't helped me turn the alarm off, and I said I didn't know. What I wanted to say was different.

Right Babes

I'm outta here. I'll keep and eye on the thread numbers so we have a place to stay but I'm at the spa tomorrow (not a typo for Spar, I really am getting pamapered) then a sleep over and tak away with my friends mum's house.

Lots of love to you all.

Purple -

EastHollyDaleStreet · 18/01/2013 21:45

Oh don't get me started on charoty shops - in the last year I have got, amongst other things, a pair of UGGS for £15 - my be a bit naff but by buggery they are warm; another pair of Italian leather boots for £4, loads of posh stuff for dd (v handy at private school interviews Wink.) several tops and loadsa books. Oooh I could go on!

Anyway, I am SO proud I whipped that ww. I'm ever so tired as it is, and know damn well I would've a) drank the lot really quickly and in secret and b) started on Dh's beer and then cried a lot Grin Watching the end of CBB then off to bed with my kindle! Good night all, stay strong xx

aliasjoey · 18/01/2013 21:46

well done to all the Babes being strong tonight!
