Happy Christmas - In what is becoming an annual tradition, I've been online shopping and bought some dresses!

I have turned my phone off and put it in a drawer, don't want to spend the day checking or sending texts. This lady is not for texting.

Sending hugs and kisses (very unMNey) to everyone.

WarmFuzzyFun x Xmas Wink

Been brave. Opened gift from ex.

A book. Haruki Murakami. Norwegian wood. Book marked. Still waters run deep.

JulietteMontague · 25/12/2012 09:07

Good morning all and Happy Christmas to you Grin

For everyone who is struggling for whatever your reasons, sending big (un Mumsnety) hugs.

48howdidthathappen · 25/12/2012 09:14

Mr R&R has texted. If it wasn't christmas we could of been having 'fun'. Tell me about it.

He is cooking lunch for his parents. Sweet guy Smile

Yogagirl17 · 25/12/2012 09:32

Morning, Merry Xmas & Happy Tardis to all. I am not getting dressed today I have decided. Hoping kids don't watch DW with their dad later. (still have twitchy fingers trying not to text youknowwho)

fayster · 25/12/2012 09:34

Happy Christmas, All. Thanks for holding my hand as I stepped into OD this year, and for all your sound advice along the way. I hope today is all it can be for everyone.

Brother and SiL have been up since dawn, and turkey is still bloody defrosting next to the radiator (someone forgot to get it out of the freezer yesterday morning). I'm going to poison us all.

Sky+ is set for Dr Who, though, and Dog is very happy on my bed with his stocking.

ike1 · 25/12/2012 10:39

Happy Chrimbo Morn you sexxy laydehs and dudes. I've just woken up and my back hurts ....(grumble)

ike1 · 25/12/2012 10:44

Suppose I should tidy the house...kids will be here in a bit...need to get rid of Grinch face and slap on the xmas manic smile.

fayster · 25/12/2012 10:52

Too much Gangnam style, Ike?

ike1 · 25/12/2012 10:58

Yeah that's it Fay....gonna put some on Youtube now get my arse into gear. X

VelvetSpoon · 25/12/2012 11:47

Morning everyone...Happy Christmas/Dr Who day to one and all Grin

Well, the DSs have already had a fight, DS1 has barked at me for being asked to to pick up the cushions he chucked on the floor, and I didn't get a single present!

So pretty much all normal service here!

Boys are off to the Ex-ILs shortly, will back around 6 when we have our Xmas dinner (Ex's family don't have a proper meal on Xmas....). So I have 6 hours to myself. Long bath, some pampering, glass of bucks fizz and wrestling with the turkey, possibly not in that order :)

Woke up to a text from NewMan Grin, who will know be known as Spaceman (to do with his job...). Sod all, rather predictably, from Cuthbert Hmm

ike1 · 25/12/2012 11:57

Well Velvet I have a feeling you know where your future romatic inclinations may be heading and with good reason...x

MsCellophane · 25/12/2012 12:19

Happy Xmas to all the daters Smile

Yesterday was an interesting day - kids had xmas day part 1 with dad and all came back raging. dad is in a new relationship and normally he puts loads of thought into presents, this year he gave them freebies from new partners work and new partner got tiffany earings! They are not happy. Very sad as he is losing them, they have got to an age where they can see how selfish he is - he has been knocked off the disney dad pedestal

On a good note I got two xmas snogs yesterday Grin

First one came from a man I had a few drinks with in the spring. He was working nearby and came in for coffee - sadly no Coffee as it's the wrong time of the month (grump)

Second one must be the weirdest first date ever. Been chatting to a man for a month or so who lives in next town. Not had time to meet for a coffee but lots of texting. Texting yesterday and found out he was stranded a few miles away, he got the wrong train home from work. So at 10pm I went out to rescue him. First date - no make up, leggings and naff jumper - driving and chatting. Nice guy and got my second snog outside his house. I had to go home as kids were due back any minute. But he has promised me slap up meal with champers for New Year to say thank you

Hope everybody's day is full of love, happiness, laughter and great things

OhLittleTownofWesternWind · 25/12/2012 12:19

All is well. Hair much better after the Fairy Liquid treatment - will give it another go tonight and we'll be right.

Lots of texting from LM and friends so feeling warm and wanted.

And thank you all on here for seeing me through these last few months. You've been a real life line, Gangnam style. Wine

JulietteMontague · 25/12/2012 13:17

Turkey is resting, I am resting, DS upstairs very happy with his present.

Yogagirl17 · 25/12/2012 13:28

Ooh MsC - how exciting! Western - glad the hair is settling down!

Meanwhile I think i have finally lost the plot completely. You know I managed to book this last minute night away for myself on 30th Dec? Well its at a lovely hotel & spa not far from here and it's a v popular wedding venue as well. So I have now developed this elaborate fantasy whereby I will be sitting in the bar area, on my own (of course), looking devastating (of course) and a very handsome man (think a cross between David Tenant and George Clooney or a younger Harrison Ford) buys me a drink. Why, you may ask, is a very handsome, smart, single, not crazy or stalkerish man also on his own at this lovely hotel on the 30th of December? Because he's going to a wedding (not his obviously). A friend of his is getting married on NYE but many of the wedding guests have come early to enjoy the festive celebrations. Sadly, all his mates have come with their partners while his STBXW is away skiing with his two children and her new boyfriend and he is trying very hard not to feel sorry for himself. But when blessed with my charming and witty company he cheers up very quickly and one drink leads to another and before we know it we've been talking for hours. The bar is closing and he invites me back to his room for c(C?)offee....(do I need to go on?).

I've even given hi a nickname already - he's The Wedding Guest. And when he fails to show without so much as a text to say 'soz, cannae make it hen' I am going to be most disappointed!

This is bad, right? And I'm not even drinking.

SevenSnapespearesSwimming · 25/12/2012 13:37

yoga that is fantastic --I am stealing that for 'research' purposes'

Got a Xmas text from the prof, which is nice, given he invited me for dinner a few weeks ago & then didn't mention it again.

Dinner is on, ex is snoring on he sofa, DD is asleep on the other sofa, boys are playing their Xmas gifts & I'm about to have a nice bath & read 'new scientist'. Festive, huh?

ike1 · 25/12/2012 13:38

Grinch face off...slap on awaiting kids ..notice they are already half hr late..sigh

Yogagirl17 · 25/12/2012 13:41

Research into the sad delusions single people resort to when they have finally given up on OD and have too much free time on their hands..?

Enjoy your bath and mag, sounds lovely. Xmas Smile

JulietteMontague · 25/12/2012 14:28

Yoga that is an excellent prediction of exactly how your night will happen, except for the last bit obvs.

Breaking news to fellow Teen Drivers, (of rather than actual teens who are driving) DS spoke to me over dinner. Not much, but whole sentences. This is the first time he's done this over the table for years, 'tis a C miracle! Yes, the Teen Years have peaked Grin

SevenSnapespearesSwimming · 25/12/2012 14:37

By 'research' I mean 'wank-fodder' Blush. I know, tone lowered considerably and on baby-Jesus' birthday. Hmm sorry. [mince pie]

MsArsebiscuit · 25/12/2012 14:39

Further to Juliette's report from the teenage frontline - 17 year old has appeared ( briefly ) to say dinner ' smells nice'. More news as we get it.

Yogagirl17 · 25/12/2012 15:05

LOL Snape !!! Grin

Yogagirl17 · 25/12/2012 15:13

Feel free to use it for your 'research', tho I imagine your version of what happens next would be considerably different from mine!!

Hope everyone is having a relatively stressfree day. x

ike1 · 25/12/2012 15:20

Very angry at exH over an hour late had to phone or it would have been later. Basically the house is full of OWs guests so exH too busy to bring the kids over. Told him next year he can see them Boxing Day.
