Men who don't watch porn

I do not believe all men watch porn.

However I wonder why they dont with it now being the "norm"?

Was there never any interest in the first place? Has it lost its shine? Is it a for feminist reasons?

Or is it more of a case of resisting temptation? As in they do want to watch but guilt and/or morals stop them? Fear of being caught?

We live in a time when we are constantly fed the message all men watch porn so nobody ever discusses those that don't watch it.

Why do I keep talking to you? Well Andula this is the thread that I started so I think its reasonable I might talk to people who choose to respond to my own thread. Otherwise I wouldnt have started the thread just to ignore everyone.

I have repeatedly said that I don't believe all men watch porn. And that those who don't have a variety of reasons for not doing so which might include low libido/asexuality along with: religious objections, preferring partner sex to anything else, or in a relationship with someone who objects to porn. In the last category, some men might feel resentful and, at some point, either end the relationship or start looking at porn in secret. Other men might make the decision that they are not keen enough on porn to go against their partner's wishes.
Insisting that all men watch porn is like insisting that all men watch football. Some do, some don't. Because men are no more one singleminded mass than women are.

I defend porn and the sex industry because I have been involved in the industry for more than 20 years. It has its faults, as do many other industries. During my working life I have done my best to make my work ethical and encourage others to do the same. People don't 'need' sexually explicit entertainment in the way that we need food, shelter, oxygen etc; we 'need' it in the way that people (collectively and variously) need various types of art, poetry, music, fiction, sport etc. I consider a lot of the anti-porn mindsets to be anti-women and anti-women's freedom.

So getting back to my original question the reasons men might not watch porn according to variety of answers on this thread are;

Never any interest, simply not on radar
Moral and ethical reasons
Finding complete fulfilment with partner
Religious grounds
Out of respect for partner
Found porn had adversely effected them in the past
Low sex drive/ asexual
Finding pornographic did not result in arousal

Need emotional connections

Sgb, I may not wholly agree with you, but on the whole you have been pretty respectful. My primary objection to porn has been discussed at length, I also have personal reasons for not watching and I am lucky that dh not only respects how I feel about this, but he also feels the same way. We are pretty well matched, sexually, and that is good. I don't think I could have married someone who used porn regularly.
