Men who don't watch porn

FBworry · 10/12/2012 19:40

I do not believe all men watch porn.

However I wonder why they dont with it now being the "norm"?

Was there never any interest in the first place? Has it lost its shine? Is it a for feminist reasons?

Or is it more of a case of resisting temptation? As in they do want to watch but guilt and/or morals stop them? Fear of being caught?

We live in a time when we are constantly fed the message all men watch porn so nobody ever discusses those that don't watch it.

yes dear. just keep on avoiding the tough questions....

SonOfAradia · 12/12/2012 16:51

I understand that you support porn, Andula.

The question is, why can't you accept that some men dislike it and don't use it? You seem to be finding that hard to accept.

BelaLugosisShed · 12/12/2012 16:51

That was particularly nasty and uncalled for Andula, though given your posting history I can't say I'm surprised.

Well Shoesme, they aren't going to say if one of the performers had a torn anus or prolapsed rectum, or contracted chlamydia in her eyes, or HPV in her throat, are they? STIs and drug use are prolific in the porn industry, women don't get paid unless they do whatever the porn producer wants, however painful or damaging.
Still sexy?

Thisisaeuphemism · 12/12/2012 16:52

Suefawley, very well said and this echos my thoughts experiences.

This is why I find it so hard to understand sgbs arguments. She usually is such a defender of women yet it seems she has a massive blind spot when it comes to contemporary porn culture.

When I was younger and sleeping around, I did so happily, despite small boobs, hairy legs and, shock, hairy fanny! I did what I liked sexually and if I didn't like it, we wouldn't do it.

Twenty years later and My nieces worry their boobs are too small -maybe they will have surgery - they are hair free of course, they are expected to do porn moves v early on in their relationships- anal, pearl necklace, filming. (these are young young women not jaded thirty something's) they are expected to howl Their orgasms like women in film.

Pornculture is not liberating the women I know

seeker · 12/12/2012 16:55

Happy to have a discussion about the morality and ethics of the modelling industry. Or about child labour. But this thread is about porn- let's deal with that first!

FBworry · 12/12/2012 16:55

Aye, Yorkshire you and that shoesme should really get together sometime after school to discuss all 'em lucky lasses you both had.

higgyjig · 12/12/2012 16:57

lol, all of MN has the 1% of men who don't watch porn as partners. Seems legit.

Andula · 12/12/2012 16:57

Son - I've never said that I think 100% of men watch porn, have I? I said I think most (as in more than 50%) men watch it, and some (=

higgyjig · 12/12/2012 16:58

I guarantee you all that your partner does in fact view pornography.

Thisisaeuphemism · 12/12/2012 16:58

Fucking hell. Here comes another one.

Andula · 12/12/2012 16:58

seeker - ah, the defeated words of a hypocrite

Andula · 12/12/2012 16:59

welcome to the party, higgyjig, it's a bit testy (pardon the pun)

SonOfAradia · 12/12/2012 16:59

If my wife posted on here, hiigy she'd be quite right that her husband didn't watch pornography. Because I don't. I despise it and avoid it.

Thisisaeuphemism · 12/12/2012 17:00

I guarentee that you have never made a woman orgasm in your life.

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels · 12/12/2012 17:00

higgy, there arent that many mners on this thread. because it says "men who dont watch porn" some men do. I accept that, why cant others accept that some dont?

BelaLugosisShed · 12/12/2012 17:00

Yawn Xmas Hmm

Thisisaeuphemism · 12/12/2012 17:01

That's to the lolling higgy.

I'm off.

seeker · 12/12/2012 17:01

"seeker - ah, the defeated words of a hypocrite"

I have no idea what you mean. But I am still waiting with bated breath to learn how you can tell whether a woman in a porn movie is vulnerable, exploited or trafficked.

BigBoPeep · 12/12/2012 17:03

LOL @ satisfying lasses with 'porn moves' Grin brings to mind the hilarious 'sexual technics' thread!!!

BelaLugosisShed · 12/12/2012 17:03

Andula, that comment to FB about her early sexual experiences, you don't think that was nasty?

FBworry · 12/12/2012 17:03

Thisis

Yes, what you describe about your nieces echoes my early experiences.(and friends)

Before I was married, Ive had drunken men asking me to do all sorts from threesomes to other acts I wont repeat after talking to me for ten whole minutes. Friends my age have experienced the same.

How has it come to this?

Have men always acted in such a manner or has porn culture skewered their perception of how to treat women?

OP posts:
Selfdoubt · 12/12/2012 17:05

I'm young, mid 20s, and I have had men try and do rather painful things to me, thinking I would love it and scream out their name and god knows else what. Definitely with the young, they are thinking that what they see in porn, is how it is done. It isn't. A real woman doesn't want as many fingers as possible shoved up her and pounded, she doesn't want a dick pounding her arsehole without at least talking about it first and going smoothly, a woman doesn't always want to be bent over something or another and fucked from behind whilst having her hair pulled yanking her head back, a woman also (shock horror) may not want to be jizzed on all over her face/tits whatever.

The list is endless. And it isn't for the womans enjoyment, it is purely for the blokes and what he wants, and what will get him off. And after some time, normal sex won't be enough anymore to get them off, and they will need the hardcore, horrid, exploitative, degrading shit to be able to climax.

It is fake. It is about time people realised this and got over it rather than encouraging something which is damaging many sexual relationships, and boners!

Andula · 12/12/2012 17:07

Bela, no, she mentioned her own experience and I asked her about it, what's nasty about that?

FB - they sound like morons, and there have always been plenty of those, they're just easier to spot now if they're willing to say that sort of thing after 10 minutes talking to a stranger

Shoesme · 12/12/2012 17:07

It was probably the drink talking.

SueFawley · 12/12/2012 17:08

FBWorry my answer to that is that some men probably have always acted in such a manner but until about 10 years ago I'd never come across it myself.

Andula I do think your comment was nasty. Many young women in their teens and early twenties are confused by porn culture, and experience peer pressure just the same as that age group always has. It's just much tougher for them now.
