Men who don't watch porn

I do not believe all men watch porn.

However I wonder why they dont with it now being the "norm"?

Was there never any interest in the first place? Has it lost its shine? Is it a for feminist reasons?

Or is it more of a case of resisting temptation? As in they do want to watch but guilt and/or morals stop them? Fear of being caught?

We live in a time when we are constantly fed the message all men watch porn so nobody ever discusses those that don't watch it.

"seeker, why do you keep asking that question? firstly, the stuff I'm talking about is free and secondly, the same was you can tell if your clothes/electronic items have been made by children.

So you think that because it's free nobody's being exploited? How sweetly naive!
Oh, and I didn't realise you could get fair trade porn!

Andula · 12/12/2012 16:29

I find glamour magazine et al pretty repulsive tbh, how do you know those models haven't starved themselves to the point of anorexia, or sucked someone off to get work?

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels · 12/12/2012 16:29

seeker, maybe there is a disclaimer at the start "no women or animals were hurt or abused in the making of this film"

ROFL, well, its no playboy, I'll give you that.

SueFawley and SonofArabia

Both your posts are really interesting, but also confirm my other objections to porn.

I think porn is robbing us and future generations of decent sex lives.

OP posts:
Andula · 12/12/2012 16:31

oh right, so you don't think models are exploited?

BelaLugosisShed · 12/12/2012 16:31

Oh no, Yorkshire's still grumpy after his little nap, why not get your mum one of your employees to make you a nice milky drink? Nobody like a sourpuss grumpy face you know.

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels · 12/12/2012 16:31

oh, and you can tell an anorexic quite easily, and given that most of the workers at magazines like glamour etc are women, its unlikely that they have been offered sex in return for pages.

SueFawley · 12/12/2012 16:32

and there I was thinking shoes and yp were one and the same. Two boys in their 20's, both from the same area of the country, posting here on MN, both making the same spelling and grammar mistakes.
I don't know whether to be pleased that MN has such widespread appeal or be worried by it.

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels · 12/12/2012 16:33

they are (although reputable agencies do take care of their models) but they arent forced to have sex with someone they dont find attractive so people like you can get their rocks off.

FBworry · 12/12/2012 16:34

Go easy on him Bela. He had a hard day. Or not.

I think he is now off to Play his "Busted" CD is room while he cries into his pillow.

" I asked you to dance at the disco, but you said no"

anyhoo, this has been fun but I need to go and make dinner.

Andula · 12/12/2012 16:34

It's got to be each to their own in this case, no-one's winning anyone round here. And for the record, I'm a 35 y/o woman, seeing as some people seem to think I'm a young bloke!

SueFawley · 12/12/2012 16:34

FB I hadn't seen SonofAradia's post about sexual dysfunction when I posted, I've only just caught up with it now. Yes, IMO, it's very worrying to know that it's affecting older men and young men in the same way.

Shoesme · 12/12/2012 16:34

Sorry if I?m missing questions aimed at me, I don?t know which women are trafficked into porn, the ones I have seen seem to enjoy their lifestyle and the fame that comes with it, I also don?t know if the jeans I?m wearing now were made by children in horrible conditions, I just tend to hope the clothes I buy aren?t made that way.

SonOfAradia · 12/12/2012 16:34

See now, this is where Mumsnet needs a 'like' function. I 100% agree.

FBworry · 12/12/2012 16:40

Suefawley and SonofArabia

Im glad you both think the same as me, its rare.

Im in my 20s still and as I said above I do feel my first sexual encounters were awful. Painful and almost scripted. Like a formula to them.

I wondered if there was something wrong with me as I found the experiences so awful.

I strongly believe this was down to the men I was with watching porn heavily.

OP posts:
Andula · 12/12/2012 16:42

FB are you not in control of the way you have sex?

SonOfAradia · 12/12/2012 16:42

SueFawley nailed it very well when she wrote about exploring the body of the woman you're with and finding out what turns her on as an individual. I lost that temporarily when I was hooked on the porn and thought of it more as a performance.

I'm so glad I realised what was happening got back to what I had been.

Shoesme · 12/12/2012 16:44

Actually there is disclaimers or whatever you want to call them before every main stream porn, mentions the FBI and all that jazz, it's the law, everything is okay etc not in those words though obviously.

FBworry · 12/12/2012 16:46

Andula

That was the past when I was young. As I had also watched porn too where women are controlled I thought thats how it just was. I fear a lot of women still do.

OP posts:
Andula · 12/12/2012 16:48

Shoesme, the modelling industry is very exploitative and abusive, and widely acknowledged as so. The morality question is being used as a lazy way to attack those of us who support porn.

Shoesme · 12/12/2012 16:49

Just because others have had problems with porn doesn't mean everyone will. It'd be like banning alcohol because of alcoholics. I guess some people are better at controlling their urges.

yorkshirepuddin · 12/12/2012 16:49

Bela an fb, i read every comment an smile so wheres the grumpy pink face come from. My mums dead an my employees are busy working, im at home with my feet up laughing at you lot. I only wish i was still at school, when i 1st discovered porn! I have to say ive satisfied more lasses since ive learned some porn moves. Can i just say unlike most men i dont do anal, not my thing.

seeker · 12/12/2012 16:50

What because the films show them in a glamorous setting and they keep saying "oh, yes, yes, yes!"?Grin

And there are ways of making sure your jeans weren't made by children- just hoping they weren't isn't very effective!
