Bill "middle aged lady"?? Hmm

BillMasen · 02/12/2012 09:43

Yes yoga. I suppose her age isn't really relevant to the story.

Yogagirl17 · 02/12/2012 10:04

Bill It was so much the reference to age as the use of the phrase "middle aged" from someone who is...ahem, hate to break it you....but middle aged himself...? (Actually I also really hate the word 'lady' but that's just me)

BillMasen · 02/12/2012 10:15

What age does middle age start? Frankly sometimes I feel I'm well into it, other times like I'm still a teenager. Gigging means I think I'm 19 again, this morning I'm doing the washing so feel quite old!

Yogagirl17 · 02/12/2012 10:28

I don't know exactly, but I always assume it means someone 40s-early 50s...? So maybe you're not quite there yet but near enough. And at 41 myself, I guess the phrase "middle aged lady" just grated (and not in a cheese sense..ha ha!).

Pixiebelle123 · 02/12/2012 10:29

Poppy - I'm sorry you're feeling so low, you mustn't blame yourself though. Some people are just horrid and reckless with other people's feelings. I've been there myself with online dating and it was very hurtful but it does get easier. Forget him and find yourself a nicer man!

Lulu - I can totally relate to your post last night, going through divorce myself and while I know I'm better off without him I still feel sad about losing all the hopes and dreams we had for the future together. Enjoy the shopping today though!

Snape- Woop woop! I like the sound of mr dreadlocks Smile

Questions - sounds like you had a great date - go in for the kill at the party and make the first move!

Libby - go for a mix of style and warmth - skinny jeans or skirt and thick tights with warm boots perhaps?

Good luck to everyone on dates today, look forward to hearing all about them!

The guy I met for lunch yesterday (I'm going to call him mr tall!) seems to really like me, yay! He texted me as soon as he got home yesterday to arrange date no. 2, I'm quite excited.

mercury7 · 02/12/2012 11:16

describing someone as middle aged is rarely meant as a compliment..'middle aged lady' suggests someone frumpy and unattractive?
this thread is full of middle aged ladies, we are all very very hot :o

Snapespeare · 02/12/2012 11:17

Suspect mr dreadlocks was a bit squiffy and has now woken up with a dreadful hangover and a sense of foreboding. It doesn't help that my fb went a bit wibbly wobbly and reposted a link to nine inch nail's 'closer' while I was asleep. Hmm

He's fair nice tho. I've always thought so...but it would be a bit of a LDR, so I'm not going to pursue...

AndLibbyMakesThree · 02/12/2012 11:30

Agh, wrote long post on train and lost it. So just to say yay to questions and pixie. Sounds like both your dates went really well.

BillMasen · 02/12/2012 11:39

mercury was meant to be purely descriptive and neither disparaging nor complimentary. And yes, I do acknowledge that I'm almost there myself. I think I've decided to embrace it and not try and pretend I'm not almost 40. The thread seems have a few occasions of people not being completely truthful about their age so one promise I do make is that if/when I get round to online dating I'll be totally honest about age, height and kids!

48howdidthathappen · 02/12/2012 11:41

When I saw Mr Fuck, he did ask if I wanted to do proper date stuff.

Is it wrong that I replied 'Why? I would rather have more Coffee' Grin

48howdidthathappen · 02/12/2012 11:46

bill I am middle aged. Not always a lady Grin Always getting chatted up by younger men in RL. I prefer older men...hardly ever meet any.

mercury7 · 02/12/2012 11:48

i'm just the same 48 bored to death by proper date stuff and really only in it for the Coffee:o

Yogagirl17 · 02/12/2012 12:34

Exactly Grin

JulietteMontague · 02/12/2012 14:32

Good afternoon all and good luck to all those of you who have dates today.

Bill I am constantly approached by younger men, the only men who seem to even use the term 'middle aged' are ahem, middle aged men Hmm

I am also very, very hot Grin.

I am middle yoof personified!

Snapespeare · 02/12/2012 17:27

Snooping on Facebook does one no good. I hadn't realised mr dreadlocks had rescued orphaned elephants, climbed Everest and built a medical centre in a remote African village.

There's also a photo of him scuba diving, which clearly cancels out all the above...

bantamrooster · 02/12/2012 17:31

Snape - in the picture of him scuba diving, was he holding a fish?

Snapespeare · 02/12/2012 18:15

He was stroking a fish.

I think we all know what that means....

KirstyWirsty · 02/12/2012 18:26

Hi .. I've still to catch up on page 31 .. I texted TheAuditor this morning to see if he wanted to go for a walk along an Ayrshire beach this afternoon .. I headed to pick him up but we didn't get any further than the bedroom .. He was prepared with the condoms after our discussion on Friday ... And it was absolutely AMAZING !!! The best Sex I've ever had in my life!! He seemed to feel the same

He's picking me up from work on Tuesday and I'm going to his for dinner and a sleepover .. Just told my mum and she said 'fine' (doesn't want to know) .. Yeee haaaa!!! Grin '

48howdidthathappen · 02/12/2012 18:43

bant Have Coffee fun.

Yogagirl17 · 02/12/2012 18:56

Woo hoo Kirsty & everyone else having (or about to have Bantam) Coffee!!

Snape so was the elephant rescuing good and scuba diving bad or vice versa? Cause I'm thinking sensitive AND effortlessly cool & sexy....no?
