My DH has recently discovered that he was an unplanned baby.
They were planning to have children, just not so soon.
He is surprisingly upset about this.Well, surprising to me .
He does not have the best of relationships with his parents, and plans to bring this up with them at Christmas, when they all have a get together.
He says they dont like him that much, and now he finds he wasnt wanted.
His parents did have another child a few years later.
I am not sure what to say to him,and not even sure there is anything to say tbh.

Funnily enough, Lindt's post kind of strikes a chord with me. My mum once told me that me and my sister just couldn't live up to what she had imagined her daughters would be like: she lost twins before we came along. It was like she had the 'wrong' children'. So, although I suppose we were planned, we weren't quite what they 'planned' for...

My MIL was definitely not planned. Grin She was born 6 months after the wedding (she's 83) and despite the fact that her parents had made vague noises about being premature, she knows she was a normal sized and health baby and that the wedding had a shotgun flavour.

But, she had a happy childhood, knows they loved her, and this is probably why she can find it funny being born 6 months after her parent married.

oh and I discovered recently that my name, which means 'Fathers Joy' was in fact tongue in cheek Grin

My twins weren't planned but it doesn't mean I don't love them and delighted to have them.

Sounds like your DH has other issues going on.
