MLM I dont know what to say except that you appear to have alot of drama in your life Confused

Perhaps you feel in some way better or more alive, or more 'validated' when there's alot going on around you?

snapespeare · 14/07/2012 13:44

Well done Miranda! :)

Tall (6ft 3! Bliss!) beardy (a fine specimen, not annoying George Michael tim minchinstubble, a glorious florid rhodededrum bush of a beard). Charity fundraiser (!) north London (boooooo!). Has asked me out. Today.

Obviously I have declined, I have plans (gym with PM, then dinner)

We shall call him mr. Beardy. :)

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/07/2012 13:50

Snape, sod that!!! Go!!!!!

He sounds nice, and your type, and is interested.... How often does that combo come up!!!!

Just go, take a chance!!!

snapespeare · 14/07/2012 13:52

No, I've already said no, I'm not changing established plans to drag myself across London on a whim.

I'll get him later in the week. He seems to think I'm going to get him into 'trouble' & he won't be able to keep his hands to himself. We'll see.

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/07/2012 13:56

Ok :)
Sounds exciting though.

I was sent this on facebook (yes work of the devil I know)

Take chances lots of them because no matter where you end up and with whom it always turns out just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are, you learn and grow with each choice you make. So say how you feel, always. Be yourself and be okay with it.

mercury7 · 14/07/2012 14:30

Hmmsounds like vacuous new age psycho babble to me mlm...

izzyizin · 14/07/2012 14:53

Yet more confirmation that FuckBollocks is the spawn of the devil, MLM.

Taking lots of chances isn't the way to go if you're meeting random men from dating sites or elsewhere.

As for it always turning out just the way it should be, that won't be much consolation if you find yourself being physically assaulted or worse, or get the clap because you chanced it. '

I've got a sign on my desk that says 'I've learned so much from my mistakes I think I'll make another one' but I try to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Say how you feel always? Balls to that! There's numerous situations where there's no way you should be saying how you feel, and I can't think of much that's more tedious than listening to someone emoting all over the place about how they 'feel' especially when that's the only topic of conversation that's of interest to them.

Be yourself by all means but don't use being okay with it as an excuse for not being all that you can be.

MyLittleMiracles · 14/07/2012 14:55

Some of its true, your mistakes do make you who you are though. And you should always be yourself and be happy with it.

Currently listening to music on my phone. As to having a lot going on it stops me from sitting dwelling on my past, or my mistakes. So I suppose I like being busy.

CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 14/07/2012 14:59

I have a proper confirmed date for next Saturday. Bowling and coffee afterwards. But he's said that we could pretty much spend all day where we are going because they have a cinema, loads of restaurants, good places to walk etc.

I've got my babysitter all sorted :)

And I'm chatting to another guy who's mentioned getting together for coffee.

I've never dated properly before. And certainly never more then one guy. I'm not planning on jumping any of them but it still feels a bit wrong!

izzyizin · 14/07/2012 15:02

Sounds like you're an adrenaline junkie, MLM.

You'd benefit from takng time out to sit quietly and reflect on the past with a view to not repeating the same old in the future.

Lueji · 14/07/2012 15:05

Snape, see if the hands behave appropriately (to your liking).
Otherwise, I know this move where we grab a finger, control the hand and bring them to their knees.

Now, opinions please.
Mr I Forgot What The Knickname Was Anyway, has sent some messages just sending a kiss or saying he misses me. I guess in readiness for a date next week.
So, should I reply saying simply that I have found someone else?
OR saying that I found someone who actually bothers to be in touch regularly and asks about me?
Wink

izzyizin · 14/07/2012 15:05

Well done, Charlie. Once you get into the swing of it, it'll feel right!

izzyizin · 14/07/2012 15:08

Why waste a text, Lueji? If he can't be arsed to be in regular contact, why should you be arsed to kiss him off?

Lueji · 14/07/2012 15:11

Charlie, you are just meeting them.

Surely you meet more than one man in your life.
And even more than one in the same outing.

You meet them then you decide whether you want to date them properly or not

And if you like one the best you can always cancel the others.

TimeForMeAndDD · 14/07/2012 15:13

You sound to be having better luck than me Snape. I've had 3 messages this morning, a 'Hi' from a guy in Brooklyn New York, which is quite simply too far for me to go for a coffee so I'm not engaging, then a 'You are not my type at all, but I found your profile mildly amusing' from a snotty 5ft 5", 52 year old equivalent of a rock chick, and a message referring to my 'eye catching profile' from a guy who appears to have forgotten to put his teeth in for his photo. Best message so far has been from Chris Coyne welcoming me to OKcupid! But, I shall persevere!

Well done Charlie! That is fast work! Smile

Miranda Well bloody done! Grin

Lueji · 14/07/2012 15:14

Izzy, because he does text, randomly, and even more occasionally rings.
But you may be right about the cost. I'll just msn him and save the text for Mr Very Nice :o

AndLibbyMakesThree · 14/07/2012 15:15

Charlie, bowling sounds like a great date - really good idea to do something fun like that.

Snape, definitely arrange a date later this week - it's rare (in my experience) to find someone who's your type.

MLM, hope you're ok. I sometimes feel you get a tough time on here, but then again it can be really helpful to have people giving you advice and telling you when they think you're wrong, and not just agreeing with you. I have to agree with others that it could be a good time for you to just spend time with your little boy and your friends/family, and not worry too much about dating. It's fine to be on your own for a while.

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/07/2012 15:17

Leuji- I woyidnt even bother replying really, there is no need. But if you really must just say you are no longer interested.

Charlie. Woooo!!! It's a first date, so, literally just a meeting, you don't need to feel guilty over anything at all :)

Mlm, I'm not sure why I waste my breath, but some crap on facebook is not, perhaps, the best code to live your life by. As we have all Said Many, many times, it might be better if you concentrated on yourself andyour child for a while, all this drama isn't good for either of you. But I'm fully aware this falls on deaf ears and there will be someone else's husband/ boyfriend you will be Fucking soon.

I need to go shower, seeing mrl shortly

OP posts:
CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 14/07/2012 15:18

Lueji - some days I don't meet any men let alone more then one :)

But yes I know. It's not really dating yet. It's just meeting up for the first time. I'm actually looking forward to meeting lots of different guys and making friends and maybe more.

It's getting more exciting by the minute.

A quick question for the OKC users - do you get random messages from French guys? I've had two this morning. Very strange!

I got an email with the countries that I'm most matched with. Apparently Isreal has the highest match rate for me. WTH? Ok. In second place was Sweden. Seriously would consider moving there - they produce men like Alexander Skarsgard yes please! :o

TimeForMeAndDD · 14/07/2012 15:19

Have a look at Andy_66, OkC, just look at his profile pic in comparison with his other pics. Now, this is what I mean when I talk about one face having many different looks.

izzyizin · 14/07/2012 15:20

If he can cross the bridge to Manhattan, I'll check out your Brooklyn guy for you later this month, Time Grin

CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 14/07/2012 15:21

Lots of cross posts!

Time - and I thought France was bad!

Lueji - I wouldn't bother at all. He's made you wait so repay the favour.

I guess I'm just not fussy at this stage. It's not about luck or anything :)

TimeForMeAndDD · 14/07/2012 15:23

Grin loveissimple177 Izzy. See if you can get him to say more than a "hi"! You should be able to recognise him, seeing as the first thing people notice about him is his hairy skin Grin

AndLibbyMakesThree · 14/07/2012 15:27

Watch, have a great time with Mr L.

Time, not sure whether to laugh or cry at your post! Grin at forgetting to put his teeth in.
