Oh vanishers happen pretty often. It's quite common. I am used to it. Apparently what I need is a manklet til I find a boyfriend. Someone to hug to watch crappy Tele with and to pay me loads of compliments and practice my flirting skills on (they do not need practicing) oh well so where do I find one of those?

MyLittleMiracles · 13/05/2012 11:47

It also sounds suspiciously like a boyfriend but misses out the sex.....

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 12:13

Oops! Sorry Betty, I missed that he vanished.

watchoutforthatsnail · 13/05/2012 12:29

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 13:19

watchoutforthatsnail · 13/05/2012 13:23

Yay! Pencilled In for Sunday, unless sat is Better weather. Def taking a boat on the lake. And Eating ice cream :)

That's a fab date, isn't it :)
I'm excited.

Time, you have seen his Profile, hes really short ( I.usually like tall men) and was saying how.hes happy with his life, and wasnt looking for a relationsship to Complete him, but rather hoping being happy and enjoying life would bring along someone to enjoy it all with.

He seems nice. And normal!!!

watchoutforthatsnail · 13/05/2012 13:25

And he plays In a band. And has a soft spot for 80's rock, like me!!! ( that's so uncool, isn't it)
And is a total foodie.

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 13:33

Smile it sounds like a lovely date. Was that the profile I liked? Grin

This all sounds good watch, looking forward to the update on this one!

hatesponge · 13/05/2012 13:45

Watch that sounds great Grin

I got a msg from someone who might have potential. We are possibly going for a quick drink Weds evening. He thinks going by my photos I'm gorgeous (I am a sucker for a compliment!). He also lives in a v v expensive area and seems to be quite middleclass, rugbyplaying type - bit like Barbour in some ways.

Only downside is that he is separated (I'm always a bit wary of that) but will ask suitable questions on our date.

Meanwhile the soldier is still texting me (I am still far from cinvinced he is single despite his attempts to convince me) I suspect I am going to end up meeting him at some point, against my better judgment and even though he now says he just wants a cuddle

hatesponge · 13/05/2012 13:45

convinced

MyLittleMiracles · 13/05/2012 13:47

watch he sounds very promising. Not sure most men would appreciate me flirting so much. I just can't help it, even when happily married......

MsCellophane · 13/05/2012 14:00

watch - sounds good so far

sponge - ditto on the posh rugby one, caution is good on the soldier but if you like him, then worth a try

I'm guilty of all the things some of you block for. I often message with just hi as I can't be arsed with writing a huge email to be ignored and I am guilty of asking where in hometown they live. I only block rude or insulting people, my block list is quite short

PoppaRob · 13/05/2012 14:09

Are any of you in the Cornwall area? A mate of mine is doing a show on Radio St Austell Bay on Sunday nights at 10pm... Strange And Different, Different And Strange with Mitt Gamon. He's a good guy and helped me a lot getting my instruments into the hands of the right people, not that it helped much from a business point of view but I got/get to hang out with a few of them when they come to Australia.

PoppaRob · 13/05/2012 14:14

MsCello - It sucks doesn't it? You make the effort to spend 10 or 20 minutes introducing yourself and don't hear a peep back from them. The strange thing is that the cute/interesting ones you think will never reply often reply with a quick thanks but no thanks, where the up themselves dogs can't be arsed.

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 13/05/2012 15:30

Update!

I deleted my POF account as I was getting too many strange men talking to me.

But I met someone in RL. Been texting for a few days and we have a lot in common. He wants to meet up through the week!

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 15:31

MrsC I must add that I only block/delete if the profile doesn't do it for me. If the profile is nice, with some effort have gone into it, then I will reply. Sometimes you can just tell, from the profile that the person is best avoided.

I wish I did live in the Cornwall area Rob, I would love to live that end of the country, it's very beautiful.

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 15:33

SP That's great! Grin How did you meet him?

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 13/05/2012 15:37

I was out shopping with my son and he asked for my number! He's gorgeous. He's 24 and is a electrian. He as a son similar age to mine.

I'm very excited. We have loads in common from loving the seaside and what films we like.

We have been talking like we have known each other ages.

TimeForMeAndDD · 13/05/2012 15:40

Oh my word!! He just asked for your number? Was your hair in a bun and were you wearing a high neck?

That's really good! I am so pleased for you Smile

MyLittleMiracles · 13/05/2012 16:45

Really pleased for you SP I am not doing dating sites for the next week. I am busy for the next week or so.

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 13/05/2012 16:49

He just asked for my number so I thought why not and gave him it.

He's been texting ever since and still intouch now. We havent run out of things to say either.

I don't know what a high neck is Confused but I was wearing my usual jeans and t-shirt combo.

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 13/05/2012 16:50

Thank you MLM I couldn't deal with the amount of weirdos I was getting through.
