Hello, tis me, Mouse Smile

I'm one of the Brave Babes aboard the Battle Bus, on the journey to sobriety.

We have drinkers, non-drinkers, inbetweeners, notquitesurers...... which is all fantastic. Smile

No matter who you are or where you're at in your personal quest to get where you want to be, come grab a seat and join in the natter, just jump right in. Smile

And, if you'd like to see where we've been up until now, HERE is a link to the last thread and the ones before it

See you soon.

Damn in the sidecar Sad but not going on, just two. Disappointed but back in the bus tomorrow with bells on. Not even drunk, just thinking of u guys makes me positive Grin. It's not all that btw, just tired and bored of my fake talk already. Already more aware of how dull alcohol makes u....

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 21:00

Sh*te acidic crap, don't u dare give me anymore sweats, not worth the small amount of pleasure....

helpyourself · 05/04/2012 21:17

Wow so busy! I'm jabbing away on a tiny screen, wish I could name check each and everyone of us- let's keep talking and supporting and spurring (and sparring) and distracting each other!

I'm making hot x buns- the mixture anyway ready to bake tomorrow.

How's it all going?

Mouseface · 05/04/2012 21:39

Hey help Smile

I've just got a new phone so I'm updating my contacts. Off to bed after that. I'm dieting so your hot cross buns are uber tempting to me! I've lost 6lbs in 6 days but the start of my diet is always the same Smile

How are you?

Mouseface · 05/04/2012 21:39

Lola, do the drill- teeth, something sweet and bed. If you see this in the morning - hopefully feeling better reread tonight's posts- not that you've written anything bad, but the lack of pleasure in tonight's drinking, which to an outsider doesn't sound excessive, shines through.
Mouse. Blush I'm a lot heavier than before I stopped drinking- hardly surprising as i was living on wine and when I ate couldn't keep it down. I was bmi 17 Sad

helpyourself · 05/04/2012 22:32

X posted. Sleep well all.

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 22:58

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 23:02

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 23:03

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 23:03

helpyourself · 05/04/2012 23:12

Hi lola drill is damage limitation to get you to bed!

Lolabelle · 05/04/2012 23:21

Fairenuff · 05/04/2012 23:38

Lola I'm here, you ok lovely? The drill is pint of water, another pint of water, clean your teeth and off to bed x

Fairenuff · 05/04/2012 23:59

OK am starting to wonder if any of you actually played I Spy in your childhood. Long car journeys to Cornwall anyone? Jogging any memories? You are supposed to name actual things which you can see. And as an extra clue I am telling you that you can all see this. So how can it be samosas? Confused. Rubbish guessing, tut, tut Hmm

Guess what - you're all fired!! Grin

Thurso you got closest with silhouette. Well done.

MsGee the charity I volunteered with lost their funding this time last year. It's just cutbacks, nothing we could do. All the support we had secured on previous years was just withdrawn Sad. It's ridiculously shortsighted to make these cuts. Those charities are there for a reason. The need won't go away.

Had a long afternoon with my friend. She shared a lot of stuff with me. Alcohol addiction can spread its tentacles far and wide, that's for sure. Her poor dad left four broken marriages behind him and several children. He was a charming, delightful man when sober. One thing she said stayed with me.

"I didn't walk away from him, I walked away from his addiction"

She loved him til the very end. But she could not have any kind of relationship with him whilst his main relationship was with alcohol.

If only he could have walked away from his addiction . . .

Night babes x

MsGee · 06/04/2012 07:37

Morning!! Boingy ish here. DD up in the night so but yawn-y too.

Feeling more positive today. Chief Exec at refuge emailed me a v lovely positive email and is clear we did our best and she wouldn't want to run a cut price service.

We are off to nearby stately home type thing today for a mad hatters tea party. I have an activity planned for every day this weekend - something I always mean to do but don't... DH is also going to turn our lounge into a cinema tmrw and get popcorn. What is everyone else up to today?

Lola hope you're ok this morning and that all the babes in the sidecar are too.

Today is the start of the bank holiday weekend. I have no work to do ( Smile ) but I still wont be drinking. Who is up for a sober day?

MsGee · 06/04/2012 07:42

This is my last ditch attempt then I am going to get cross

I thought if you this morning in bed ... Grin
DD is just learning eye spy
DD: I spy with my little eye something beginning with blue (I told you we were learning)
Me: Erm the sky? But DD the curtains are closed. We can't see the sky
DD: (as if talking to an eeejit) I see the sky every day mum. Doh.

venusandmars · 06/04/2012 07:44

Shadow?

In which case you're wrong about us all being able to see it - I'm peter pan, don't you know Smile will never grow old Smile (or maybe never grow up?)

venusandmars · 06/04/2012 07:48

Lola, hope you're feeling OK this morning, It didn't sound as though drinking yesterday evening was much fun for you. So, today's a bright new day. I will not be drinking, who'll join me?

venusandmars · 06/04/2012 07:50

Morning msgee your mad hatters tea party sounds great.

ferfuxake · 06/04/2012 08:00

Hope you are feeling ok today Lola. You've been doing brilliantly. It was just one night.

I am in bed. I should be luxuriating in my rare chance to catch up on sleep as DH is up with the kids, but I can't bloody well sleep. I feel faintly hungover and am trying to work out whether it is my liver that hurts.

I was thinking last night about how DH and I basically facilitate each other's drinking. We turn a blind eye to each other's habit, thereby letting us pretend it's all normal really. Ideally we should stop together, but that has never worked before. I guess I'm going to have to try to do it alone. Bit scared about what that means for our relationship though...

So, I hesitate to even say it as I keep on failing, but today I am really going to try not to have a drink.
