The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Christmas Party (part 1)

1000 replies

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 03/12/2010 16:22

Hello.

Welcome to The Brave Babes Bus. I'm Mouseface and I used to abuse alcohol and to be honest, there is always a risk that I'll do it again.

This is a bus journey for those who drink too much, or drink now and then, not at all, or actually aren't quite sure what their drinking means to them.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, everyone is welcome. Xmas Smile

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 15/12/2010 13:36

HA HA to JWN

Hi Zany - watch it in those high heels.

Mouse - I'd like to try to cut down and not 'pass out' as is my usual behaviour. Do I need to plan what to drink before I go and try and stick to it or what?
Not sure on the best plan but want to enjoy.

Hope Nemo is ok without lunchtime nap Smile

JWN

South London Intergroup will be having a little get together on the night at my regular group's home venue ...

The last time I was at a group's individual party was at the Elephant and Castle meeting. It was held at the Sally Ann. The staff at the centre had even bought the group a little gift.

It was a box of liqueur chocolates!

rubyredlips · 15/12/2010 13:40

Blimey WasIndie sounds exhausting but yes normal christmas shopping. I've done all mine apart from one and can't quite believe it as I'm a 'run round like an idiot on xmas eve' type of person Xmas Grin

jesusthisstableiscrowded · 15/12/2010 13:42

ha ha miflaw!!, i have to take a dish - dh asked if was taking the sherry trifle! Xmas Grin

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 15/12/2010 13:44

He'll be hell Ruby - but I'll cope. Means extra cuddles for me!

Anyway, yes to planning. I found that if I pre-made my drinks, soft drinks, I would drink less booze.

So I'd have fruit juices diluted with lemonade or soda in the fridge, choc full of ice, and then pour them as and when I fancied a 'real' drink into a tall glass and even added straw!!

Or I'd have cranberry juice in a wine glass.

Fool the mind into thinking it was a drink/treat.

If you are going to drink, try and add in soft drinks or water. I always have a pint of water on the go, all day, that I just top up.

That way I don't get thursty. Make sure you aren't hungery. Or tired. These are all triggers to get wasted for me. Over tired especially.

We are all very differnet on here as I'm sure you have seen! What works for me (or doesn't some days Xmas Blush) might not be great for you.

Time and planning will show you the way. Keep an open mind. Try 'it' and see. Whatever 'it' might be.

And we'll be here along the way, whenever you need us!!

Hi everyone. I'm on day 3, just checking in because counting days on here helps me.

So so tired today and they've been digging up the road outside my house again after three weeks doing the same thing for days. Noise is driving me mad. Sad

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 15/12/2010 13:54

I've set up the new thread as I'm off out soon and the way this one is moving - gas bags!! - it'll run out whilst I'm out.

Same title, just part 2.

Can we fill this one up FIRST please!!!!!!!

As you were!

rubyredlips · 15/12/2010 14:17

I'm here too - just contemplating life!
What have you taken to make you feel better Zany?

rubyredlips · 15/12/2010 14:20

Hi LRD - Well done for Day 3 and sorry you feel so tired.

The road is being dug up outside my house too. Do we live in the same street Xmas Grin
Oh no we can't do, they've only been here 2 weeks. It drives you mad doesn't it?

desiretochange · 15/12/2010 14:24

Zany did you drink a lot last night?
Ruby my downfall is red wine too, there are times when I could drink a bottle and would feel fine, other times 2 glasses and I would be drunk, and more often than not cannot remember last hour of evening Blush

desiretochange · 15/12/2010 14:25

LRD one thing I hate is not sleeping:( been sleeping badly myself lately but hoping it won't last, trying not to get worked up about it!

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 15/12/2010 14:28

desire - a vicious cycle, not sleeping, not worrying, not sleeping, not worrying about not sleeping. Argh!!

Anyway, off to my GP. Back later xx

OP posts:
desiretochange · 15/12/2010 14:30

Good luck with GP Mouse and make sure you tell him about that flipping twit yesterday!

rubyredlips · 15/12/2010 14:42

Hi Desire That's what happens to me too. I drink a bottle of wine and then don't remember getting home.
My DH goes mad at me. Do you still drink? sorry, I can't remember what everyone's situation is.

rubyredlips · 15/12/2010 14:42

Hope it goes ok with GP Mouse Xmas Smile

desiretochange · 15/12/2010 14:51

I do still drink Ruby . .

Silverbaubleonatree · 15/12/2010 14:57
