Hi I am venus and I am an alcoholic.

Thanks to the first thread by Jesuswhatnow I have not had a drink for a long time.

There are lots of us on here, please lurk, post, whatever does it for you. If you are worried about how much you drink and your inability to stop when you want to, then someone on here can probably understand.

I am starting to feel a bit better. I dozed off on DD's bed whilst she was playing with her little wooden village and even that 10 minutes seemed to have helped. I think I might be winning at last. And I don't have to feel like this ever again.

maddogsandenglishmen · 21/11/2010 17:54

Hi everyone on the Brave Babes Bus. Not sure if anyone remembers me - last seen on Thread 7ish, but I've just been reading through the last few threads and wanted to give you a quick update just in case.

My last drink was early August (5th I think and I am now 38 weeks pregnant! I am getting to the "just get this baby out of me NOW" stage, but apart from that everything is fine. The baby seems very well and healthy so far, as well as being pretty huge, so I think I have been very lucky. Of course there may be effects of drinking which aren't seen for years, but so far so good.

I stopped posting because I was worried about posting too much from work. But now very happily on maternity leave so may be around a bit more.

It's great to see some familiar names still around...(Waves to JWN, Mouse, Venus, Moomin, MIFLAW)

jesuswhatnext · 21/11/2010 18:07

venusandmars · 21/11/2010 18:15

Mouseface · 21/11/2010 18:18

Hey maddogs - you are one spooky lady. I was sat here earlier thinking about you and wondered if you'd had baby yet.

Fab to 'see' you!!! Oooo, I'm getting all broody! Promise that if you get chance, you'll come back and keep us posted with bump and baby news Smile

Mouseface · 21/11/2010 18:21

noteven - an early night will really help you. Nice bath too?

Make sure you are on that phone the second your GP opens to get an appointment too. You MUST tell them it IS an emergency. No matter what they say, you MUST see your doctor tomorrow or another GP is needs must.

Please get the help that is out there. I know you've been trying to all weekend. Keep going. Smile

Mouseface · 21/11/2010 18:53

desire - how's things?

Silver66 · 21/11/2010 19:06

Zany - spill NOW!!! X

dementedma · 21/11/2010 19:11

venus - here, have the chipolata Grin
BTW - I'm not drinking today!!!

ZanyWany · 21/11/2010 19:18

Not alot to say apart from OMG he is lovely. I shouldn't really think that way as I had date no 2 on friday with POF guy and he seems nice and is a good laugh. But neighbour is really really nice, get on well and like the same things, camping, music etc. Trying the 'friends' approach, don't know what he thinks about me but he has said in a text that he thinks I'm Fab.

Drink wise not going so well. Going to try and cut down/not have anything tomorrow but worrying about money at the mo so using that as my excuse today.

How are you Noteven

Mouseface · 21/11/2010 19:19

Ma - WELL THEFECK DONE!

desiretochange · 21/11/2010 19:22

well done on not drinking today ma.
Hiya Mouse, had a lovely night away, did have a few drinks, watched the X Factor in a gay bar and the atmoshphere there was brilliant. They had a karaoke night after the X Factor and it was such a laugh! Not drinking today, will pm you tomorrow because that's the day I am going to have to face and deal with reality but this evening I am just going to chill and prepare myself for tomorrow.
Took me ages to read through all the posts, was busy on here:)

venusandmars · 21/11/2010 19:26

Zany - very exciting!

But you know there is a madness on worrying about money while spending it on wine (aka pissing it away).

desire, demented, mouse have a great Sunday evening. Sunday evening made for relaxing - warm bath, good music, happy thoughts Smile

OP posts:
desiretochange · 21/11/2010 19:29

Mouseface · 21/11/2010 19:42

Good work desire. Glad you had a great night. You were missed. Smile

And balls to tomorrow lovely, we can worry about it together ok? xx
