Well, thanks to the refreshingly honest and inspirational JesusWhatNext - this is the third thread, for the battle to beat the booze for all of those who are on the path to do so.

Some are sober, some are trying to be and some are still drinking.

I'm Mouse, I'm new to this and I'm scared. So, come and join the journey.

White as white can be with brunette dye, my 'natural' colour. trying to ho;ld back the years!

Mouse, trying to resist actually sucking it, though I am hiding behind it a little! is that actually the 'hoose' you're watching?

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 13:48

algee - I am 'only' 33 and I need to dye my hair about every 5 weeks because of the grey!! (My 'natural' colour is also brunette I think it's a pretty dark brown - with grey obviously - but have been dying it for so many years I am not actually sure, oh well!)

Mouseface · 03/08/2010 13:52

algee - I too am white as white with a gorgeous chocolate brown dye on it.

Sorry MIFLAW, I guess you'll skip these bits!!

I had to turn House off......far too sad. Lady died in the 'OR' but the baby lived. Now House may be out of a job! Oh the drama!!!

Off to do some exercise now. DD has a friend coming over in a bit. You feeling ok algee?

Mouseface · 03/08/2010 13:53

Moomin

I went grey at 21! My mum the same.

One day I will let it go grey or white or I may go wild and dye it pink!!!!

OP posts:
algee · 03/08/2010 13:56

Me too! At 20 or so it seemed pretty cool though, at 42 I think I'd just look like a 42 year old...every time I go, I do wonder about having the dye bleached out and going natural....never quite have the nerve though!

See, not just the alkie thing we have in common!

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 13:57

I blame my mum too!! She colours her hair light brown with great chunks of bright pink in it! She's much braver than me It really suits her though.

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 14:10

Yes, we may well be alkies but we are still women and therefore want to talk about hair!

venusandmars · 03/08/2010 14:56

I'm 49 and have just a few strands of grey. My dm is in her 80s and at least half of her hair is still dark.

But my dds tell me that my hair is a 'nothing' colour. In fact they say that I have hair the colour of a rabbit

GlassInHand · 03/08/2010 15:11

I'm wrecked!

Had a really good session with my trainer he wants me to do a triathlon in 6 weeks

No drinking for me tonight, mainly as I haven't the power to lift a glass, always a good thing lol.

ChristianaTheSeventh · 03/08/2010 15:12

Hello I'm back

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaay 10

Can it really be day 10?

I've had my interview. I was so nervous before hand that I was nearly sick. I am just so NOT COOL. I did my presentation. Then had loads of questions about 'how would you deal with this' and 'this' and 'give an example of this...' the HR lady played bad cop and the other three were friendlier. I have no idea how it went, it seemed OK in bits but I found myself rambling. I didn't say half the stuff I meant to. God I'm not sure how it went.

I was nearly sick on the way back too. God knows why I'm handling it so badly. I thought I'd have to ask the cab to pull over. Thank God I hadn't been drinking.

I'm shattered now. My sister in law texted me before 6am saying 'I know it's really early just wanted to wish you luck'?! WTF?! She woke me up! And I couldn't get back to sleep. Really pissed me off!

Well done to all of you. Hazel and Algee it's a whole new day.

Mouse and glass glad you're feeling so great.

Trinity so glad you are feeling better in the mornings, that's brilliant.

I just dyed my hair 'back' to its natural colour, kind of goldeny brown, after 15 years of continuous highlights. My grey is coming through very silver, so goodness knows what I'm going to look like in a few weeks

venusandmars · 03/08/2010 15:17

Well done Christi, did they say when they'd let you know?

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:17

What is with all these exercise nutters?!

christi - well done for getting through the interview. You did the best you could, you certainly did loads of prep. And the thing to remember now, you can't change it. It's happened. So fingers crossed for some good news. (Any idea when you will hear?)

And thank you for the hair update!

GlassInHand · 03/08/2010 15:18

Yay Christi

ChristianaTheSeventh · 03/08/2010 15:21

I forgot to ask! I think they were seeing someone directly after me and my recruitment guy says they are also seeing someone tomorrow, so I guess they will let me know tomorrow afternoon.

I feel kind of deflated. Just thinking about the wittering on I did. I also 'kept a bit back' in terms of the presentation so that they could ask me questions and I would come across all knowledgeable but they didn't ask much

Thank you for your kind wishes.

Moomin exercise is helping me not drink, because I feel healthier when I do exercise and am aware that my body works so much better without alcohol. Also disturbs my routine quite a lot which is good for avoiding the evening drinking danger hour.

Also I am very keen to get rid of my wine wobble

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:24

I wasn't trying to say it was bad to be doing loads of exercise - please don't anyone think that! I think it's a fantastic use of time. When I gave up (last time) I spent hours walking every day - for all the reasons you said christi. And it works!

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:26

And I am sure you didn't witter. Try not to think about it - it's like going over exam questions when you're out of the exam hall.

GlassInHand · 03/08/2010 15:26

Lol Moomin, I know what you mean! But right now I can hardly type I am sooooo sore.

venusandmars · 03/08/2010 15:26

I should do sme exercise but I just hate it. I like a leisurely swim, and can keep going for about an hour (which shows how leisurely it is), but I hate anything that gets me hot and out of breath and tired.

I too have some alcohol pounds that I should loose, but as MIFLAW says, tackle one thing at a time... so maybe in about 10 years I'll think about the exercise... or maybe not.

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:32

For the the first time in many years I am now in a healthy BMI range! Could still do with toning up... (God, I am being such a girl today - hair and now weight!)

ChristianaTheSeventh · 03/08/2010 15:35

God I am so tired. I think adrenaline has kept me going for a while, has all left, and now I am just shattered. Goodness. Might have to go for a sleep. Back later.

MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:39

Have a lovely rest christi - you deserve it

(Further to my weight post earlier, it was not too many years ago that I was almost 16 stone so to now be a so-called healthy weight is a big achievement for me - not as big as giving up booze though )

GlassInHand · 03/08/2010 15:45

That is a fantastic achievement Moomin, well done.

Mouseface · 03/08/2010 15:47

Ouch!

Sorry, where are my manners? WELL DONE CTS for not having a drink before your interview and for daaaaaaaaaay 10!!

Don't stress about finding out and if this is through an agency, you may not hear tomorrow. They'll get feedback from all candidates, then from the client. So NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!!

Just sit tight.

Right, ouch because I have just done my first Shred. Man alive, I have muscles I never knew about!!! I didn't do a full Shred due to my pelvis etc but It's worked me none the less!! I've not done any exercise for 2 years!!!

As you were!!

OP posts:
MoominMags · 03/08/2010 15:53

Thank you glass. I am keeping an eye on my weight at the moment but if I want chocolate or cake or cheese I just have it because it's better than picking up!

algee · 03/08/2010 16:20

Glad your day went well Christiana, glass...i'm in awe! Rabbit coloured hair sounds bewildering to me venus, but then maybe I've spent too much tme in pets at home contempalting the wide and varied shades and colours of rabbits!
Moomin and mouse hello again.
Well past my first struggle time. All will be well...
