Well, here we go ladies (and MIFLAW)! The new thread to follow on from JWN's 'me and alcohol have ruined my family'. I hope no one minds that I decided to go with 'brave'? I just think that it describes us!

As a quick recap, I am 33 and on day 22 of sobriety (on this occasion!)

Hi all,
Well it's been a busy day on here since I last looked! Hello lovely brave new peeps
It's taken me 10 minutes to read and digest everything that's been said today. I was also on anti-depressants on and off since DD2 was born (she's 18 now) but not for the last 7 years.

Trinity - hang on in there if you can, it is worth it (says she who failed miserably yesterday!!)

I've been out with DS this afternoon to a castle, only about 10 miles from home (where I've lived all my life) but I'd never been before, feel quite ashamed of myself! Had a great afternoon and had roast beef and all the trimmings for tea. Feeling positive today, just deciding which of the numerous unfinished craft projects I will re-start tonight (I have a choice of 3 cross sitches some knitting and a rag-rug kit) and I also bought some apron material for DD2 , but not leopard print! Even worse - luminous pink with big white polka dots on it, DD loves it, strangely.

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:21

evening all - the drink policelady is now here! - come on you lot!! try and think about soemthing else, anything else!

today i have doen some sewing, made a few cakes and had a good long chat with my friend, quite a nice day all round, just had a lovley long icy cold blueberry and slimlinr tonic.

i see gok is on the box tonight, i shall be watching that, btw, i know its bloody stupid but i keep thinking about last nights EEs, what a bloody stupid plotline, i could have done better than that, in fact, i would go so far as to say our resident mn trolls could have come up with something better.

dd has just called, they are having a fantastic time, this yurt dosent sound like camping at all - they even have a sodding hot tub!!

dh is out playing football this evening so the evening is mine all mine i tell you!!

btw trinity, i think your 'bowel stuff' (as the advert says ) is quite normal!

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2010 18:21

snapping at the kids now
i hate this

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:24

ah wrinkly!! arnt we a load of arty crafty ladies , a much nicer discription than a load of old lushes!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 28/07/2010 18:27

What time do they go to bed Trinity? Can you have a long bath after they're asleep? Have you ever done any yoga, how about doing a sun salutation.

You can do it you really can. It's easy for me as my DDs are away till tomorrow so I just did some exercise which really helps.

Have you eaten yet?

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:28

trinity!! all kids get snapped at! (it is the law! , only fibbers never snap at their dcs!) can you send them out into the garden for while?, maybe even go out with them and bash a cricket ball about for bit, or similar?

ChristianaTheSeventh · 28/07/2010 18:28

Sorry I didn't mean it's EASSY i meant it's easier for me as I am not having to do the witching hours between dinner and bedtime which I normally do with an enormous, frequently filled glass of wine

Eat something sugary

ChristianaTheSeventh · 28/07/2010 18:30

jesus is right, i'm sure even the soberest of mothers snap at their children! But I know your kids will be realllly pleased that you don't have a hangover tomorrow.

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:30

christi - what the buggery is a 'sun salutation'? and if i do one will the neighbours have me carted off in a white van?

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:32

yes! on this one occasion i know without doubt that i am right!

you will snap a bloody more tommorrow if you wake up with a hangover, i KNOW that cos i have done it!

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:33

sight more! doh!

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2010 18:36

I've eaten my curry ad some bread

I'm still drinking irn bru

ChristianaTheSeventh · 28/07/2010 18:37

this is quite a slow one but I like Shiva Rea

some very annoying american instructions with this one

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 18:39

ahh headlice checking, could be quite theraputic!

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2010 19:18

gecko and I have headlice

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 19:38

oh bugger it trinity! - you know its not anything to be ashamed of dont you? i am so old i remember nitty nora, the school nurse checked us every so often - i never had nits as a child, but i got them about 4 times when dd was small - the stuff we used to get rid of them used to fizz on my bleached hair it was terrifying! dh was ok cos he is a bald as a coot! and has been for years - he blames living with 2 females for his early hair loss.

yes, i am trying to jolly you along, nits is not the end of the world and you DONT need a drink (mind you, i wonder in neat vodka tipped over the head would kill them?

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2010 19:46

its ok, we get them regularly becuase there is a girl in dd1s class who never seems to be checked or treated, they just keep coming around

I'm not going to drink

I'm not being beaten

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 19:49

well done you!! to be beaten by nits would be a right sod!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 28/07/2010 19:49

woo hoo trinity

jesuswhatnext · 28/07/2010 19:50

i always feel so sorry for the poor little devils who are not treated, it must be awful for them.

Mouseface · 28/07/2010 20:53

Hello

Just poured my third vodka. I'm leaving it in the lounge whilst I go and woodstain the new kitchen door.

I have had a pint of water in between this and the last to try and make me feel fuller.

Mouseface · 28/07/2010 20:55

JWN - I have found your original thread, and I'm working through it.

I love MIFLAW's entrance to the thread, he's like a fairy godfather with size eleven hob nailed boots!! Kicking ass for sure.

catinboots · 28/07/2010 21:01

can someone do a link to the previous thread please??

TrinityRhino · 28/07/2010 21:02

I've just reread the start of this thread and I remember reading it as it started as I was interested by the title

I remember reading the forst ten or so posts and thinking 'I'm glad I dont have a probem with drink'
