Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to marry Pip, or other unusual views.

I read it as being fed up with being asked, repeatedly, whether it was really ok for Alice to fuck someone else, no, really, did he mind? In real life he would have lost his temper after about the fourth time of pestering, wouldn't he. As for turning up while he was at work and expecting him to discuss someone else's sex-life, Rex is the pits and if I were Chris I wouldn't want to go with him to the pub for a long cosy talk about my ex-spouse either. Dull as all hell get out.

He was fine about the previous occasion Alice was having it off with someone else; he just didn't like the alcohol involved because it meant that a child was potentially put at risk. Harrison was not keen on that aspect either, as I recall!

I agree, @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime . I'd have been on the verge of exploding at Rex. Not ideal if I was hammering away at red-hot metal.

I've not been in that situation but I'd imagine it's a lot easier to accept a new partner if you don't know him/her. Rex is a bit wet.

He makes the Atlantic look like a puddle in a rutted track.
