Spoilers thread for The Archers on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

I am indifferent about who he kills, though on the whole I would prefer it not to be Brian – mostly because Charles Collingwood does Brian so well.

Right. Here's my reading of the RT runes:
George goes off to stay with Clive and discovers that Clive has a gun.
NYE he returns to Ambridge , with gun, and rampages generally, giving many people a reason to want him stopped in a permanent sort of way.
He rampages more specifically at the Horrobins, where he discovers that Amber has been seeking comfort with Brad.
Tracy gets caught in the crossfire, literally, and ends up in ICU, her life hangs in the balance. Jazzer and various others swear vengeance.
NYD George's body is found. He's been shot. Suicide or murder? That is what the inspector must decide.
Amber discovers that she is upduffed. Will the bad seed be carried on unto the next generation?

Actually, think he discovers tomorrow about Brad and Amber, there's an almighty scene and then he goes off to Clive's.
He returns to settle scores the next day.

I'm sure that's where Clive comes in. Makes sense. He's in the cast for the Inspector Calls thing. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

I was thinking after 7.15 tonight that this must be where Clive comes into the picture. 😄

So the Grundys lose a son / grandson and gain a DOL and grandchild?

They might keep the grandchild out of the picture for the time being. Amber leaves (please!) and we hear no more until several years have passed.

Tony offers the benefit of his own tragic experience to a friend in need.
Ed's keen to support Will as his brother's behaviour causes concern.

Those two spoilers together strongly suggest that George is deaded and Tony is sympathising with Will as bereaved father to bereaved father. Though it could also be Neil who he's comforting, and it also looks as if George is taking Alice and possibly Marthurr hostage at some point.

Could it be the vigil is over Brian who has a heart attack after Alice is taken hostage?

It's at this point that I wish The Archers wasn't in 15 minute slots each evening, but at least we don't have a full week before any cliffhanger is resolved.

”Rampage” is a bit tricky to do in a 15 minutes on the radio.

Bore’s prediction seems plausible. We know that Clive is in the “Specials” and George needs to be able to go somewhere to plot or flee.

I’m wondering whether this is the week when Harrison loses his temper, attacks George, gets suspended from the police….or maybe he resigns before he is suspended?

They have mentioned his temper/anger management a couple of times since he came back from beyond the bypass and had him behind the bar at The Bull with Fallon.

I agree with the Clive theory, this is where George will head after unleashing hell at the Horribins. No one deaded today, that will wait for NYE - the one in hospital will have been injured by George or is George himself and will probs survive? Since they usually do once they make it to hospital (bar Nic).

if it is George in hospital I fear a hero’s welcome back to the Bull where all is forgiven 🤮🤮🤮

The cast list for the special programme and the little inserts during the day leading up to it strongly suggests to me that we will be in the dark about who did what to whom for some time. Half a dozen people with good reason to loathe George seem to be talking to the police and sharing their inner thoughts with us. Hmm.

It could be Will - George, Eddie - Ed/WillNeil - Emma or Chris. Tracy - Brad/Chelsea. Brian - Alice. Alice/Chris - Martha...
or David (not in cast) - Pip (yes please!)

Don’t forget Tony has also recently lost a parent, so it could be:
Will/Ed - Eddie/Clarrie
George/Keira - Ed/Emma

though actually I think if there is a death it probably won’t be any of those

I just hope it’s bereavement advice and not tractor advice - I have my hopes raised for some real drama now!

I knew it wouldn't be included if it was in between programmes, which is why I posted about the one in yesterday's Today.

Brian is interviewed/features in the 1 Jan special.
