Spoilers thread for The Archers on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

So no Tom, Natasha and twins. And no Tracy, but the somewhat alarming presence of Clive.

There was a trailer featuring George this morning.

I don't think it will be Jazzer.
TomTashTwins are probably snowed in at the Thomases.
I don't want anything bad to happen to any character (other than Pip), although a fright that would render Jolene incapable of saying Moi darlin' and Lilian incapable of cackling would be good.

Just George. So not giving much away that we hadn’t already gathered.

You're right, it was just George, and didn't contain any surprises.

I'm working from cast lists for the one-off on 1 Jan and week of 23 Jan and cast members mentioned in spoliers for two weeks of 4-16 January. Do update if I've missed a key schedule.

George ran off to Clive's after people realised he'd lied about "the accident", so that MIGHT mean that George runs away again. He must be a good cyclist by now, so an absence of rural buses as well as inevitable rail engineering works on New Year's Eve/Day will not hinder his flight to beyond the bypass.

Aside from the immediate Grundys, I don't think that anybody would be terribly sad to be without George for a couple of years. They are more likely to all head down to the Bull to celebrate. That said (and I might have missed it), I can't see Ed listed after the NYE week and I'd be sad if he went.

I like Ed too. I'm sticking to George going for Alice.

I fear for Chris more and more. We've had a lot of memories of Tony and Pat losing a son. Then we have this: 5/1/26 Tony offers the benefit of his experience

Could be misdirection, I suppose.

I agree @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g. I think Chris gets deaded and the vigil is held over Brad or Ed. Of course, George could turn the gun on himself with Emma & Will at his bedside. Just listened to 28/12 episode.

I think it might be Chris as Alice's interest in him has been so obviously rekindled. She will then turn to drink having lost her one true love.

Thankfully it was the same trailer! At this stage of anticipation I don’t think I could cope with any more clues.

I suppose it’s too much to hope for a random dedding of Tony and Pip?

Goodness, thanks for that @KnittedFerret! It sounds all terribly fraught with peril and hysteria! I look forward to someone running amok and don't much care who is on the receiving end. On balance, I'd prefer it not to be Chris or Brad, but if it's Kenton, well ... goodness how tragic. 😉

When did George get access to a gun? If I had a nutter like him in the family and also owned a gun, I'd make sure it was not within his reach, if only because if he used it I would lose it, along with my licence for not keeping it properly secured.

Eddie may have a shotgun (and may also still have the one he stole from Will, though I'd expect him to have sold that years ago because it was a Purdey and they go for serious money) but I don't think Ed has ever owned one, just borrowed Eddie's occasionally.

Did they mention a gun this evening? I missed that.

I have now revised my previous opinion that he would kill Chris and think it will be Brad. I suspect it will be someone different tomorrow.

So Brad, Amber, Tracey & Chelsea could be at the Horrobin's house and Chris, possibly Martha, Neil & Susan at their house. Oh dear.
