Spoilers thread for The Archers on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. All Archers listeners are welcome here, whether you post on our main Archers thread or not. There's just one rule: please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers thread.

We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

Just a reminder that Lynda rose like a phoenix from the ashes of Grey Gables' kitchen and, after a few tense weeks in hospital, went on to direct/manage eleventy billion village events and shows.

I do hope we aren't going to be disappointed by what they have planned for NYE onwards; we all have such high hopes!

RegimentalSturgeon · 24/12/2025 11:35

A bit disappointed to see Brad in the cast list. I had him down as Most Likely Victim.

RegimentalSturgeon · 24/12/2025 10:33

The Editors seem to like having Ambridge matriarchs burying one of their children

Mothers of Ambridge please note: there’s no actual rule that says they have to be dead first.

I see the Christmas spirit has really got to you, @RegimentalSturgeon! Grin

Ho yuss, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g . Breaking out the mulled strychnine any time now.

snowibunni · 24/12/2025 21:09

my bet is on Clarry been a victim (unless I've missed her from a cast list)

Gonners · 24/12/2025 21:12

Clarrie will probably vocally quaver herself to death one day.

TottersBlatantlyTowardsTheBaileys · 26/12/2025 19:48

Cast to be announced …?

They’re selling tickets when the actors are probably all waiting to see if they get better offers between now and then? 😮

HewasH2O · 26/12/2025 19:58

Better offers or still in the role? I went to an event with David, Shula & Brian once where they said they were all on tenterhooks when each new recording schedule went live.

Gonners · 26/12/2025 20:00

Ooh, the first one is within 30 minutes (on the bus) of me and a matinee at that! I still won't go, though.

KnittedFerret · 26/12/2025 20:02

There isn't one near me. 2 or 3 are within 30 miles.

I took that to mean that it will be random desperate actors playing Archers characters, rather than members of the cast.

TottersBlatantlyTowardsTheBaileys · 26/12/2025 21:06

Mmm … There’s a performance in my city, but from past experience I know I prefer to experience TA solely through the medium of radio.

I concur. It's so much easier to erase it from the mind.

Poppins2016 · 27/12/2025 06:11

There's a location within easy reach of me, but I'm not sure about the "flower and produce show" theme... I never find the flower and produce show particularly interesting! Mulling it over...

Madcats · 27/12/2025 11:23

I've had a quick skim through 5 pages of this thread and can't see it, but I think the first 2026 Radio Times must be out in the wild (though not yet on Borrowbox). I saw this on Facebook:
Ambridge Diary
After starting 2026 with a shocking bang, Ambridge must now deal with the repercussions. Many of the villagers are just trying to work out what happened. The Grundys are struggling more than most, with home truths, concerning behaviour and tension crackling around the family. Alice is finding it hard to come to terms with her role, while at the Bull, attempts to move on are put on hold when the police come knocking. David Crawford

Apologies to Gasp0de if already posted.

Is it bad form to go to the supermarket just to leaf through a hard copy to see if the cast list for that week has been included?

I also live close to an Archers at 75, but I think I'll wait to see whether they end up offering any discounted tickets.

KnittedFerret · 27/12/2025 11:45

@Madcats , Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/12/2025 22:25
...
As the Ambridge residents reel from the shocking events of the New Year, it becomes clear that everyone has been affected ...
At The Bull, the staff try to move on by making plans for an alternative Burns Night celebration - but not everyone is in the mood to paper over the cracks.
Elsewhere, Joy has an impossible task and suspicions are raised when the police arrive.

KnittedFerret · 27/12/2025 12:01

@Madcats , Is it bad form to go to the supermarket just to leaf through a hard copy to see if the cast list for that week has been included?
I've been known to do it. My usual supermarket had sold out of the RT the last time I was there (6 pm Christmas eve, stocking up on 15p veg).

I know it's mean to sell veg so cheaply when it's the farmers who probably end up out of pocket, but it was there. My trip to Lidl for the 5p veg was a waste of time.

I wonder what the 'shocking events of the New Year' will be.

The cast list for the week beginning 18th January doesn't include Ed or Clarrie.

Gonners · 27/12/2025 12:39

The Radio Times online is here: https://www.radiotimes.com/radio/radio-listings/?ts=1767207600000

The page linked to is New Year's Eve, which says "George goes on the rampage with shocking consequences and Alice finds herself facing a difficult negotiation"

On New Year's Day (at 7:15 pm) there's the 45-minute Archers play, followed by Emma Freud interviewing the writer of said masterpiece. I couldn't be bothered scrolling any further forward.

Great work, all! Mustardland delivers one other. Here is the missing spoiler for 9th January, from the RT presumably:

9/1 The police deliver unexpected news and Eddie struggles with his priorities

Cast list for the week ending 9/1 includes Helen, Henry, Jolene, Tony, Brian, Alice, Neil, Amber, Clarrie, Ed, Eddie, Emma, Will, Joy, Akram, Jazzer, Fallon but no Brad or George. Writer David Payne, who is writing the Inspector Calls thing.

Someone over there wonders if Chris is going to be George's victim. That would tear the Grundy/Horrobin/Carter extended family apart. He's not in the cast list after next week.

RegimentalSturgeon · 27/12/2025 13:03

Chris as victim? Yeah, I could get behind that. But then again, there is no one I wouldn’t be fairly happy to see dedded except Brian or, possibly, Freddie, and neither of those seems likely.

Gonners · 27/12/2025 13:11

Yep, although I quite like Chris - especially his voice - he isn't in the programme very often. And Alice is due another trip to rehab.

KnittedFerret · 27/12/2025 13:17

Marthyr the martyr. No more speculation about FAS. Affects the Aldridges, Carters, Grundys.

Gonners · 27/12/2025 13:28

Whoops, I seem to have double-posted. Please file under "incompetence".
