We usually add the BBC teasers and cast lists for forthcoming episodes as they become available, plus the Radio Times and Daily Mail previews when possible. Feel free to add anything else you come across, e.g. cast news, scriptwriter tweets!

I'm all for a death, but a bit choosy about whose. George's - excellent. Fallon's or Brad's, not so much.

Gonners · 22/12/2025 09:23

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g You can't just taunt us with that! We need to know what you were watching. (As I see you as a BBC-watcher, my money's on Beyond Paradise.)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/12/2025 09:39

I can neither confirm nor deny your surmise, @Gonners. <taps nose so hard it falls off>

I only watched ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’. Is everyone who takes a NY dip in the Am going to develop gills?!

I'm not fussed either way about Fallon, though I would be quite content never to hear Kirsty croaking at me again.

It would be a way to kill off a silent who has become an embarrassment, too. So eg Johnny, comes back just in time to be mown down... Except that would be hard on Pat and Tony. But there must be others. Rochelle.

Gonners · 22/12/2025 18:15

I'm still hoping Johnny will come back, be welcomed with open arms and delight by Pat'n'Tony, and put Tom and Helen's noses thoroughly out of joint. It won't happen, obviously, but a woman can dream ...

Perhaps in a two-birds-one-stone storyline Mick could run off with Rochelle? I think the combination of Joy and Martyn Gibson has potential, in a cringeworthy way.

FizzingAda · 22/12/2025 19:35

Of course, it could be George who goes on the rampage and gets dedded, or injured by Brad in self defense with a well thrown maths book. Cue much wailing from Emma.

noodlezoodle · 22/12/2025 19:58

Based on tonight's nauseating lovey-doviness I was convinced it's Harrison that will be dedded, but then they introduced the idea of all the bikes and scooters joining the tractor parade, and now I'm not sure.

RegimentalSturgeon · 22/12/2025 20:26

All this talk of Johnny reminds me that it is possible to sing ‘You’re a slaphead, Johnny’ to the tune of Surabaya Johnny, if one is so minded. One sometimes is.
While I don’t care two pins for him, it seems superfluous to bring him back just to kill him off.
George dedding the repellent Chelsea would be good, but I’d be happy with any of Harrison, Fallon or Brad. (Or pretty much anyone really, though I can’t see a coherent reason why it might be Pip. Except her personality, obviously.)

I thought we had a theory that Harrison had Another Woman wherever it is that he's playing the Worst Undercover Cop in the World? Maybe she's dumped him.

@RegimentalSturgeon ... I think what Ambridge needs is to be isolated by a force-field as the result of an alien invasion led by Julian Rhind-Tutt. Now that was entertaining radio! Very silly, but none the worse for that.

DeanElderberry · 23/12/2025 07:52

That was brilliant radio and a much more accurate depiction of village life than TA has managed in recent decades.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/12/2025 22:25

Right, the BBC has released some more teasers, so here they are. Also the TV Times has a preview, which I can't remember ever hearing of before.

TV Times 3-9 January (two different previews, with a fair bit of overlap)
The residents reel from the events of New Year, and as the police descend on Ambridge, Jolene makes a shocking discovery. Plus:
Tony offers the benefit of his own tragic experience to a friend in need.
Ed's keen to support Will as his brother's behaviour causes concern.
Helen has her reservations about son Henry's pals.
Emma makes a decision that's set to have lasting consequences.
A bored Akram attempts to help out at Bridge Farm.
And Jazzer is unwilling to help out with Burns Night ... but what's really going on?

As the Ambridge residents reel from the shocking events of the New Year, it becomes clear that everyone has been affected ...
At The Bull, the staff try to move on by making plans for an alternative Burns Night celebration - but not everyone is in the mood to paper over the cracks.
Elsewhere, Joy has an impossible task and suspicions are raised when the police arrive.

Teasers - just the new bits. Friday 9th Jan through to Sun 18th Jan are just
'Contemporary drama in a rural setting' and we lack the cast lists for the weeks ending 9th and 16th January. But here's most of the week beginning 18th January:

Mon 19th Jan - There’s worry at Meadow Farm, and David attempts a negotiation
Tue 20th Jan - Chelsea offers her support, and Fallon is in a delicate position
Wed 21st Jan - Amber faces some tough questions, and Eddie struggles to come to terms with recent events
Thu 22nd - One resident receives some life changing information, and Harrison attempts to work through a problem
Fri 23rd Jan - The Grundys face some surprising revelations, and Esme has a dilemma

Amber but no George! No Ed either. Is it just possible that Amber may kill or attack George?

Or does he turn a gun on himself after his rampage?

Madcats · 23/12/2025 22:47

At the risk of it sounding like a Cluedo answer, I had high hopes of George running amok in the Bull with a chainsaw on NYE.

No doubt Jolene’s “shocking discovery” is that Fallon has been buying in pastry, frozen bread and gravy mix at The Bull.

Of course we will see in the New Year by having Joy come to the rescue in some way, assisted by Akram.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/12/2025 22:52

Joy probably solves the case.

It's annoying to be able to rule out both Joy and Harrison as potential victims of the rampage. I think my guess is now Ed gets it while trying to defend Amber, George in a moment of self hatred commits suicide.

Ed’s down to support Will in the week of 3-9 Jan so prob safe to say he won’t come a cropper. I’m disappointed that there hasn’t been a bigger cull, I agree that it’s a massive shame Harrison and Joy haven’t been pruned, and was hoping against hope for Esme to have suffered collateral damage but am disappointed to see Meadow farm is firmly back on the agenda in January so we’ll have to sit through the long, drawn-out but extremely predictable Esme/Josh storyline for months/years probably.

I cannot see how the SWs will make Esme into a long-running character that anyone warms to, let alone what they are going to do about her dreadful accent! They must be assuming no one is listening who has a clue what a north glos/south worcs accent actually sounds like!

Ambridge · 24/12/2025 08:48

There doesn’t seem to be any mention of Mick in those cast-lists 🤔 That may not be significant, but we know he has a problem with George (well, doesn’t everyone?) and he’s the have-a-go type, so a confrontation between them, 'with shocking consequences', in teaser-speak, wouldn’t entirely surprise me.

TottersBlatantlyTowardsTheBaileys · 24/12/2025 08:55

Nobody would be holding a vigil over Mick, though.

At least, no one significant.

Oh, I agree. But I’m hoping he might be collateral damage, as it were 😬

Madcats · 24/12/2025 10:07

I can’t help thinking that they must have dragged “silent Shula” down from Sunderland to dead her. The Editors seem to like having Ambridge matriarchs burying one of their children.

Mothers of Ambridge please note: there’s no actual rule that says they have to be dead first.

BeaLola · 24/12/2025 10:45

It's the bit about Tony helping a friend in need makes me wonder if it is indeed Mick getting hurt by George and dying and Tony giving advice to Joy ?

TottersBlatantlyTowardsTheBaileys · 24/12/2025 10:51

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!

Even now I can’t relax - in case Brad is only heard as a phone recording or from a prison cell. But I’m considering admitting a distant shadow of hope.

And looking rather impatiently at all the Christmas stuff getting in the way of it being January now.
