Current main Archers thread here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4887688-archers-thread-153-total-absolute-rubbish-but-we-keep-on-listening-hoping-for-better-things-its-the-hope-that-kills-you-discuss-the-archers-here?latest=1 The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

They do indeed. I will nevertheless buoy myself up by hoping that the long-forgotten sinkhole will re-appear and Pip will fall down it.

OP posts:
Bruisername · 12/04/2024 18:58

I think pip has been developed as an instrument of torture to the listeners. Wouldn’t surprise me if all this Chinese hacking is responsible. Trying to depress the r4 listenership

WhoppingBigBackside · 12/04/2024 19:23

Caroline Jester? Like a modern Elizabethan Clown?

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g !

DeanElderberry · 12/04/2024 19:34

It's going to be bye-bye Bartelby and George stuck for the vet's bill. Anticlimax and traumatic animal death.

Gonners · 12/04/2024 20:35

Perhaps George will decide to live-stream the Putting-to-Sleep of Bartleby, setting up the camera so as to film himself emoting dramatically, then somehow get between Bartleby and the needle and inadvertently live-stream his own demise. As long as the vet is Alistair rather than Jakob, that would be great!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/04/2024 16:27

Another bit of info.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine April 14th-19th
After tension at the first cricket match of the season, Kate and Lilian are concerned that stress levels are becoming overwhelming for Alice, while Chelsea tries to play the system.

OP posts:
WhoppingBigBackside · 17/04/2024 19:52

So that who Ruby Cosse was. Not sure what to make of that episode.
The vision of Gonners' Helen on the Left Bank was funnier.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/04/2024 19:57

A Brian Rix farce would have been funnier.

Gonners · 17/04/2024 20:40

That was one of the stupidest and most pointless episodes in quite a while - and it has had a LOT of competition.

What next? Liz Truss arrives with Donald Trump?

WhoppingBigBackside · 19/04/2024 17:57

07/05/2024The Archers
There’s life-changing news at the hospital, and Kate fears the worst.

I dreamt about Rob Titchener last night. He came to visit only when he turned up it was Miles.

Am I over-infested?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/04/2024 18:13

We'll give you the edited highlights, @Bruisername. Possibly less painful that way.

Crikey the bank holiday weekend sounds a bit serious!

Gonners · 20/04/2024 09:14

As long as Jakob and Brian are all right, who cares?

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 20/04/2024 09:38

Oh … Shock

The Aldridges can’t take another tragedy so it has to be someone else who ends up in hospital. For a moment I wondered about Mick being in harm’s way when the soon to be Gruesome Twosome get busy with their chainsaws on the rewilded land.

But Will and George are the only Grundys in the picture during the 4th May week. So I’ll stake my bet on our ever-confident incel accidentally chopping a bit off the unfortunately not central but strangely suddenly moved to centre stage Mick.

(And hope that Chris’ heartbreak is Alice and Harry related rather than anything happening to his daughter.)

Bruisername · 20/04/2024 09:46

I think it will be Harry and Alice and George in the hospital after a car accident and perhaps they hit someone (George). Alice will be ok though. Harrison involved because of the crash. Will is confused because it brings back memories of nic

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/04/2024 10:08

It surely won't be George with life-changing injuries. Only his blood relations care about him. I certainly don't!

OP posts:
Bruisername · 20/04/2024 10:11

No it will be Harry

i don’t think they will do anything to a regular character that can’t be undone

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 20/04/2024 10:21

It surely won't be George with life-changing injuries.

No - but he’s due some punishment and redemption quite soon. The consequences of seriously injuring someone else might do that.

i don’t think they will do anything to a regular character that can’t be undone

Mick … I honestly see no other reason for his existence. The SWs found reasons to keep him in the background until now - but suddenly he has a job in the village and he’s all excited about moving in, keeping it secret from Joy … Poor man has ‘expendable’ stamped right on his forehead. Grin

(I agree Harry seems ‘right’. But that would be Rob all over again.)

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/04/2024 16:23

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g
I'm quite intrigued by all this!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/04/2024 16:43

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine 21st - 26th April
Alice tries to save Harry, but fears she may have taken a step too far. while Alistair and Denise are in turnoil and Azra males a new friend in the village - but has she chosen wisely?

Can't see any Radio Times preview stuff anywhere yet. Will keep looking!

He's supposed to be able to write comedy...

Gawd, what clown told him that? I think it was cruel to mislead him so.
